Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 2283: Chapter 2283: Anyway, He’s Almost Dead

The old man listened to Ye Haochuan’s words and was stunned for a long time; then, he slowly said, ”Are you really... Yichuan?”

”Of course it’s me, but the current me is no longer who I used to be!” Ye Haochuan said with firm conviction.

”Good, good, this is how my grandson should be—strong-willed!” The old man was very pleased.

Supporting the old man, Ye Haochuan walked toward the door and spoke as they moved, ”Let’s go; this place is not worthy for you to reside in.”

Cao Songtai didn’t question anything and slowly followed Ye Haochuan’s steps.

Cao Songtai’s pace was slow, and Ye Haochuan didn’t urge him; after more than ten minutes, the elder and the youngster finally stepped out of the courtyard.

Outside the courtyard, a few passing servants saw their figures and were quite astonished.

Since Ye Yichuan was exiled, Old Master Cao never stepped out of this courtyard, to the extent that many servants didn’t even know there was a blind old man living inside.

”You, go summon the person responsible for taking care of my grandfather’s daily life!” Ye Haochuan ordered, pointing at a slightly plump maid.

This maid hadn’t seen Ye Haochuan’s murderous actions, but witnessing Ye Haochuan’s commanding presence and his innate authority in speech, she instinctively dared not defy him, and obediently went.

After the maid left, Ye Haochuan called two others to prepare a chair to carry.

Soon, two groups of people returned one after another.

Ye Haochuan first fixed his gaze on two middle-aged servants, one fat, one thin, and said coldly: ”It’s you two who take care of my grandfather’s daily needs?”

The two’s faces turned pale, and they quickly kneeled to the ground, continuously kowtowing: ”Third Young Master, have mercy!”

Apparently, they had also heard about the gate guard being killed, which frightened them into submission.

”To even bully a blind old man, you two brutes, beast-like creatures, what reason do you have to live?”

Ye Haochuan glanced at them coldly, and in his hand, a longsword appeared out of nowhere; with a swift motion, the astonished and fearful heads fell to the ground.

Ye Yichuan’s father, although very unfriendly to the grandfather and grandson, was nonetheless the Family Head and wouldn’t stoop to feeding Cao Songtai food unfit for dogs—obviously, it was these two men secretly appropriating what was due.

For such heartless people, Ye Haochuan wouldn’t show a shred of leniency.

Those around were paralyzed with fear, as this young master was truly alarming, killing four people in less than an hour after returning home.

”Third Young Master, the Eldest Young Master requests your presence; the Master... might not make it!”

A servant hurried over, his scalp prickling at the sight of the two corpses on the ground, his attitude exceedingly respectful, afraid to anger the transformed Third Young Master and lose his life.

Ye Haochuan nodded indifferently, and spoke to the other servants: ”Carry my grandfather to Ronglan Court; from now on, that will be his residence!”

Upon hearing the three words Ronglan Court, the servants’ scalps nearly burst.

Ronglan Court was where Ye Yichuan’s mother lived before passing away. Initially having Ye Yichuan move there was reasonable, but now it had been given by Ye Hongmao to someone else, and unfortunately, that someone was notoriously hard to serve.

”But... Third Young Master, there’s already someone living there...” Finally, someone summoned enough courage to say.

”Then let them get out!” Ye Haochuan’s eyes widened, and a wave of anger spread wide.

The servant could only internally lament, daring not to utter a single additional word.

After speaking, Ye Haochuan followed the servant who delivered the message to where Ye Hongmao was located.

As the Ye Family Patriarch, Ye Hongmao resided in the most bustling central area of Ye Residence; when Ye Haochuan arrived, it was already crowded with people, each looking stern.

Entering Ye Hongmao’s dwelling, a pungent medicinal odor overtook the atmosphere, suffocating enough.

For cultivators, general illnesses hardly afflict them but that doesn’t mean they never fall ill, and when they do, it often turns grave.

Two people stood in the room, Ye Yichuan’s two elder brothers.

Ye Haochuan had met Ye Hechan already; the other, around thirty and looking heroic, was Ye Yichuan’s eldest brother, Ye Yixuan.

”I heard you just returned and have already killed several people; Third Brother, you have truly grown your abilities!” Ye Yixuan looked at Ye Haochuan, speaking with a cold tone.

”Eldest Brother really flatters me; you and Second Brother often kill countless servants on a whim. I’ve only killed three or four, not worth Eldest Brother’s acknowledgment?” Ye Haochuan’s gaze was indifferent, without a trace of fear.

Ye Yixuan’s expression instantly chilled, a faint murderous intent circulating in his eyes.

This younger brother had always been of little importance to him, but like Ye Hechan, he did not wish to be accused of fratricide, hence refrained from acting.

Fortunately, his father was on the verge of passing, soon to allow him to inherit the Ye Family, at which point he’d simply drive this fellow out to fend for himself.

Ye Haochuan was unaware of Ye Yixuan’s thoughts, and even if he knew, he would be unchanged.

He bypassed Ye Yixuan and went directly to the sickbed, looking at Ye Hongmao lying on it.

Ye Hongmao was a middle-aged man with a resolute appearance, yet now, his beard-covered face was enveloped by a faint black aura, his breath feeble, uncertain when he might breathe his last.

Inheriting Medicine King’s medical skills, Ye Haochuan’s perception had long been extraordinary, seeing Ye Hongmao’s condition at a glance.

Ye Hongmao should have contracted some Crimson Sha Demon Qi years ago and failed to heal timely, causing demonic qi to gradually erode him until now, ill even in his prime.

Ye Haochuan was devoid of emotion fluctuations; he held no fondness for Ye Hongmao but temporarily required him alive to fulfill his mission.

With a wave of Ye Haochuan’s hand, Ye Hongmao’s upper clothing was torn apart, revealing his sturdy torso, densely covered in black markings.

”You wretch, what are you doing?” Ye Yixuan shouted furiously.

Ye Hechan echoed, ”Father is on the brink of death, yet you dare desecrate his body; don’t blame us brothers for being cold-hearted.”

Cold-hearted? When have you ever shown kinship towards your brother?

Ye Haochuan inwardly sneered, his face serious as he retorted, ”Annoying; which eye of yours saw me desecrating him? I’m treating him, don’t you understand?”

”Stop spouting nonsense; father’s illness has stumped all city medicinal cultivators, and you who understand nothing dare boast!” Ye Hechan scoffed.

”Whether I can cure him or not will soon be revealed; he’s nearly gone already, could I worsen his state?” Ye Haochuan said dismissively.

”Outrageous, how can you speak of father so callously?” Ye Hechan retorted angrily.

”Father? I have no such biased parent!” Ye Haochuan replied coldly.

Then, impatiently, he said, ”Seriously, do you keep trying to stop me because you don’t want this old man revived either?”
