Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 2254: Chapter 2254: How Could It Be So Fast?

”Someone broke through the barrier of the second checkpoint? Could it be Gu Dewei?” Ye Haochuan was instantly shocked.

”This passageway is meant to select the successor, and there are only three checkpoints in total. Once the second checkpoint is breached, the people at the first checkpoint have already completely lost, so they will soon be cleared out.”

Xu He, an expert in studying tombs, learned some information left by the Medicine King when breaking the barrier before and immediately explained to Ye Haochuan and the others.

”Gu Dewei is truly not a simple person. Even with such severe injuries, he dared to charge the barrier of the second checkpoint and actually broke through it!” Le Yao said in astonishment.

”Let’s not worry about that now, let’s go stop Gu Dewei quickly. If he indeed obtains the Medicine King’s inheritance and heals his injuries, we’ll all be in danger of being killed!” Ye Haochuan urged.

The three of them immediately rushed towards the second checkpoint without any further delay.

Just as they stepped into the small passageway, all the small passageways suddenly collapsed with a roar. It was unclear whether the Gu Family cultivators still trapped at the first checkpoint were crushed to death or thrown out.

The three felt a lingering fear; had they been a step later, they too would have been caught in such a precarious situation.

Boom~

The ground trembled once more.

”Not good, Gu Dewei is already attacking the third checkpoint!” Xu He said urgently.

”Quick, we must stop him!” Ye Haochuan grabbed Xu He and Le Yao, transforming into a blur as he sped away.

In no time, a dilapidated stone wall came into their view.

This should be the second checkpoint.

From the fractured stone wall, it wasn’t hard to see some colorful lines, resembling murals.

Though the murals were in tatters, Ye Haochuan could still discern at a glance that they depicted the structure of the human body.

This Secret Treasury, since it’s intended for the Medicine King’s successor, must select someone with some medical knowledge. This checkpoint should be assessing that.

However, Gu Dewei obviously didn’t proceed systematically and instead chose the most violent way to forcefully break the mural and enter the third checkpoint.

”Gu Dewei’s methods are indeed formidable; managing to so easily break through the second checkpoint even while severely injured!” Le Yao gasped.

Ye Haochuan frowned slightly and said, ”He must have used some skill, not just brute force, otherwise, given the strength of the Medicine King’s three retainers, they couldn’t have left such a vulnerable barrier!”

After saying this, he dared not linger any longer and dragged the two past the second checkpoint swiftly.

Upon entering the third checkpoint, a bloody scent immediately hit their faces.

Following the scent, it was easy to notice a distinct bloodstain at a corner.

There were no guardians or demon beasts in this passageway, so this bloodstain clearly belonged to Gu Dewei.

”This old guy, risking his life for this Secret Treasury!” An involuntary hint of admiration arose in Ye Haochuan’s heart for Gu Dewei.

Gu Dewei obviously used an almost self-harming way to quickly break through the second checkpoint.

Apart from being an enemy, Gu Dewei’s determination and desperation are indeed unparalleled by ordinary people.

The three continued forward, and soon, Gu Dewei’s extremely chaotic figure appeared before them.

The third checkpoint was also a stone wall with murals, but the murals depicted a Pill Furnace and a pill’s refining method. This checkpoint, it seems, tests the successor’s alchemy skills.

Gu Dewei obviously didn’t know alchemy, and even if he did, he wouldn’t choose alchemy because it’s far too slow.

He continued to use the same violent method as he did for the second checkpoint. His right hand was completely soaked in blood, and his palm seemed to have some scarlet pattern on it.

The stone wall already had many cracks, and at the center was a fresh blood-red palm print, seemingly matching Gu Dewei’s hand perfectly.

”Shattering Screen Palm, is it really the Shattering Screen Palm?” Xu He stared at Gu Dewei’s right hand in shock and disbelief.

”Is this Shattering Screen Palm very powerful?” Ye Haochuan asked curiously.

”The Shattering Screen Palm isn’t particularly strong in combat, but against barriers and light shields, it possesses extremely destructive power. It is the most efficient cultivation technique in the Treasure Thieving World!”

Xu He explained, ”No wonder he could break through the second checkpoint so quickly; he possesses such a palm technique!”

”Quickly stop him!” Upon hearing that the palm technique wasn’t strong in combat, Ye Haochuan felt slightly relieved and said urgently.

The three immediately rushed forward.

Gu Dewei clearly saw them too, and upon seeing them charge, he suddenly bit down hard, a decisive look in his eyes.

Suddenly, he spat a mouthful of essential blood onto his right hand and then struck out with all his might.

Boom~

The strike landed on the stone wall, causing the ground to tremble, making it difficult to stand.

The stone wall could no longer bear the burden and cracked open a hole.

Gu Dewei’s face was as pale as could be, looking almost like a ferocious ghost.

He didn’t care at all, instead casting a mocking glance at Ye Haochuan and the others before transforming into a ray of light and darting into the hole just before Ye Haochuan could grab him.

As he entered, a light barrier suddenly appeared outside the fractured stone wall, bouncing Ye Haochuan and the others’ attacks back.

”It’s over, he succeeded!” Ye Haochuan’s heart sank, a bad premonition arising.

This Medicine King’s inheritance surely has a super healing effect. Even if the inheritance wouldn’t enhance Gu Dewei’s abilities, simply restoring his strength would pose a great danger to them.

”What now? Should we escape first and seek revenge later?” Le Yao asked anxiously.

Ye Haochuan frowned, pondered for a while, and then shook his head with a bitter expression: ”The first checkpoint, which serves as the entrance, has already closed. We have no way out! Rather than fleeing in panic and getting caught and killed by Gu Dewei, we might as well fight.”

Actually, there was another way: hiding in the Minor World. However, he felt it would be disgraceful and frustrating to just hide there. This was no ordinary inheritance but the Medicine King’s legacy. How could he easily give it up?

Thus, he wanted to try once more.

”What can we do to fight at this point?” Le Yao said with some despair.

”Now, we can only rely on the formation!”

Ye Haochuan said seriously, ”Taking advantage of the time he’s receiving the inheritance, I’ll quickly set up the formation, so when he comes out to kill us, we’ll have a means to resist!”

Without giving Le Yao a chance to refute, he began crafting the formation foundation immediately.

However, before the formation foundation was complete, the light barrier on the stone wall suddenly dimmed.

”How did he complete the inheritance so fast?” Ye Haochuan was aghast. Without the formation, how could he fight against Gu Dewei?
