Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

This time, the system directly teleported Lin Ye to the deeper layers of the maze.

Lin Ye did not immediately use the special room teleportation card; he planned to first explore the nearby area, searching for some locked rooms. He would only use the card when blocked by large flooded zones.

This time, Lin Ye’s luck was good—he quickly encountered a locked room.

He used the red key to open the door. Inside was a room half submerged in stagnant water, with some mutilated corpse fragments soaked in the water, occasionally writhing.

A metal treasure chest was half immersed in the water, the other half resting on the floor.

Lin Ye activated his spiritual energy and pushed the chest out of the flooded area, then cautiously opened it.

Inside were only some miscellaneous items: five bottles of low-tier nutrient solution, two low-tier spiritual energy crystals, one low-tier spatial crystal, and a metal key for a special room.

Some of the items were soaked in red liquid, showing that the metal treasure chest was not waterproof.

Lin Ye put away the items not touched by the red liquid. Just as he turned to leave the room, the two bottles of low-tier nutrient solution that had come into contact with the red liquid suddenly sprouted sharp limbs from the ground behind him and quickly leapt toward Lin Ye’s back.

If it had been before going to the stronghold to study, even if Lin Ye sensed them, he would not have been able to react in time. But now, with his spirit enhanced by the Seed of Spirit, he could quickly trace runes behind him to form a fragile spiritual energy shield. The two nutrient solution monsters easily tore through the spiritual energy shield, but by then Lin Ye had enough time to make other reactions.

Lin Ye didn’t turn around. He just drew a spiritual energy pistol and fired several shots at the two nutrient solution monsters from under his arm.

Bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang!

The two nutrient solution monsters were shredded by the bullets and fell to the ground.

The stagnant water rippled, as if something was about to crawl out.

Lin Ye directly stepped out of the room and closed the door, not even inspecting the corpses.

These two monsters were yet another reminder not to get close to the red liquid; no one knew what kind of terrifying things it might be hiding.

After leaving the flooded room, Lin Ye found several more locked rooms. Each contained a first-tier creature and a metal treasure chest. Most chests held miscellaneous items, along with a few first-tier spiritual energy items.

At this point, Lin Ye had little need for first-tier spiritual energy items. Unless they had special effects, using ordinary first-tier items would only waste his spiritual energy.

After encountering multiple flooded zones in one area, Lin Ye used the special room teleportation card.

In the blink of an eye, Lin Ye appeared in a red room about 70 square meters in size.

But Lin Ye didn’t feel the room was large; instead, it felt somewhat cramped because it was crowded with fifteen first-tier blood-corpse creatures.

Additionally, hanging from the ceiling was a blood-red monster resembling a crocodile. Its limbs were bound by some blood-colored threads. Over time, the threads gradually faded, and the monster was about to break free from control.

Lin Ye immediately fired a shot at the monster hanging in the air. The bullet was blocked by a layer of spiritual energy shield, but the appearance of the shield made the threads disappear even faster.

The fifteen first-tier blood-corpses lunged at Lin Ye simultaneously. Lin Ye slid the pistol back into his waist and stood still, sensing the crocodile-like monster’s body structure.

As for those fifteen first-tier blood-corpses, Lin Ye didn’t care about them at all.

Their mutated physical strength wasn’t even as strong as Lin Ye’s.

Combat was a comparison of strength and technique, and the mindless blood-corpses held no advantage in either.

The blood-corpses crashed into the spiritual energy shield armed with spiritual energy blades, stabbing through their own mutated organs.

Lin Ye didn’t even move his feet; he just changed the angle of the spiritual energy shield a few times, and that solved them.

All fifteen first-tier blood-corpses died, and the blood threads on the crocodile monster vanished completely.

Lin Ye took out his spiritual energy rifle in advance from his loot space and emptied the magazine at the crocodile monster falling from midair.

Pa pa pa pa pa pa pa pa …

The crocodile monster twisted its short limbs in midair, forcibly blocking most bullets with the hardest part of its skin.

Lin Ye casually inscribed a collapse rune on the last bullet in the magazine.

But collapse bullets were generally ineffective against such relatively stable creatures. They worked much better on unstable beings or certain unstable spiritual energy shields.

Lin Ye released the spiritual energy rifle and drew the Red Blade, instantly appearing on the other side of the room. The crocodile monster, standing in the center, was cut in half—its upper and lower bodies slid apart onto the floor, and its mutated organs were evenly sliced in two.

Lin Ye had conceived this strike beforehand, but this was his first time using it in actual combat.

Just now, he simultaneously activated speed, power, severing, and protection runes, and each rune was used more than once.

These were the protection, speed, and power runes inscribed on the Nightfall Formalwear, plus the speed and severing runes on the Red Blade.

With that, the crocodile monster was finished with a single slash.

This strike required extremely high physical and mental strength. Lin Ye’s heart pounded violently, and it took a moment to return to normal.

A deeper-colored, larger red metal treasure chest appeared in the center of the room. Lin Ye first finished handling the corpses and put the useful parts into his loot space before opening the chest.

Inside was a Red Blade with a deeper color and a large amount of miscellaneous items.

There were ten bottles of first-tier nutrient solution, five low-tier spatial crystals, a bunch of red keys, two mutation injection syringes, and a small pile of low-tier spiritual energy crystals.

“...Could this be the treasure room?”

The crocodile monster was not weak, but Lin Ye didn’t think these few monsters alone were worth this much.

While sorting the loot, Lin Ye felt a rare moment of happiness—it was probably the joy of opening treasure boxes.

He planned to go back and post pictures of the loot in the group chat to share the joy with everyone—sharing happiness is better than enjoying it alone.

Lin Ye licked his lips; he was a bit thirsty.

A cup of familiar yellow liquid suddenly appeared on the red floor.

Lin Ye picked up the orange juice and took a sip.

“Why does it taste stronger now?”

Lin Ye felt the orange juice’s flavor seemed richer than before.

This reminded him of the orange juice in the library. He hadn’t noticed it at the time, but in memory, it seemed a bit more refreshing than ordinary orange juice.

‘...Forget it. Anyway, it’s already harmless, so whatever.’

Lin Ye drank the orange juice in one gulp. Now, he could only trust the system. If even the system couldn’t be trusted, it would be hard for survivors like them to live in this dangerous world.

After leaving the treasure room, Lin Ye was directly teleported to a normal red corridor.

He explored for a while longer, then the countdown ended, and Lin Ye returned to the shelter.

…………………

Back at the shelter, the first thing Lin Ye did was pour the orange juice from the bottle into another container. If his guess was right, the value of this stuff was uncertain.

However, this was Lin Ye’s first time storing card-derived items, and he wasn’t sure if this orange juice could be kept until tomorrow.
