Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

”My turn! Draw card!”

Lin Ye got up from his bed and performed a mental card draw. This time, the card revealed a doll wearing a jester’s mask. As the card dissipated, a half-meter tall jester doll appeared in the center of the shelter.

Lin Ye circled the jester twice but couldn’t figure out its purpose. ”Hello?” Like a real doll, the jester didn’t respond. When Lin Ye touched it, the texture felt somewhat like real skin. ”Alright then.”

Giving up on studying the jester doll, Lin Ye began organizing his loot. First were the two items obtained from the priest.

[Mind Crystal]

[A crystal formed from combined knowledge and spiritual energy. Using it grants access to the sealed knowledge within]

[Note: A high-purity mind crystal that can be used directly without refinement]

[Black Ritual Robe]

[Ceremonial attire for clergy, increases ritual success rate when worn]

[Note: Or maybe it’s just placebo effect]After setting aside the black robe with the previously acquired Ritual Dagger, Lin Ye directly used the Mind Crystal. Since the system said it was safe, there was nothing to fear.

A flood of fragmented knowledge poured into Lin Ye’s mind. Unlike with rune cards, he could control the flow by consuming the crystal’s spiritual energy, slowing the information transfer and organizing the chaotic data.

It took an hour before Lin Ye properly sorted through the knowledge. Most related to mutations and Protection Runes, with some ritual studies, and the rest concerning the Redemption Church.

The Redemption Church was a massive organization spanning multiple dimensions, with the doctrine of ”redeeming” all humanity. Their version of redemption resembled what the priest had done in town, though that priest was clearly a low-ranking peripheral member. ”Why are there so many lunatics?” Rubbing his temples, Lin Ye knew this knowledge would take time to fully digest.

Next were the miscellaneous items from town. The refrigerator worked normally, so Lin Ye stored mutation organs and body parts inside, quickly filling it. After organizing the remaining items, he examined the four boxes from the Station Mission.

First was the red special metal treasure chest. Inside lay a black formal suit with bright red patterns.

[Nightfall Formalwear]

[Low-tier spiritual energy item. Provides some protection against various attacks and can slowly self-repair by absorbing nearby materials when damaged]

[Note: Looks pretty impressive]

Changing into the suit, Lin Ye found it comfortable and well-fitted, though made from unknown materials with a slightly flashy design that drew attention. Still, he replaced his organization’s combat suit with it—a spiritual energy item’s advantages outweighed its flamboyance.

Next were three yellow mission chests. As Lin Ye reached to open them, he suddenly noticed the jester doll had disappeared from the shelter’s center. Turning instinctively, he found the jester’s face pressed against the back of his head, having stacked objects to reach that height.

”...Oh, hello.” Lin Ye admitted being startled—the thing moved completely silently, even when rearranging objects. ”What exactly do you do? Just scare people?” The jester remained silent, simply staring. ”Fine, whatever makes you happy.” Lin Ye proceeded to open chests, pretending today’s card draw never happened.

The first extra mission chest contained only five bottles of red liquid darker than nutrient solution.

[Low-grade Nutrient Solution]

[Edible. Replenishes special energies and nutrients]

[Note: Forbidden for rankless creatures]

’Since I didn’t kill many Mutation Creatures this time, just getting some nutrient solution is acceptable. But forbidden for consumption... Should I try pouring some on the xenomorph eggs?’

The second extra mission chest held only a blueprint.

[Spiritual Energy Workshop Blueprint]

[Required materials: Low-grade Space Crystals (0/5), Low-grade Spiritual Energy Crystals (0/5)]

[Note: Requires Tier 1 Shelter to use]

’Perfect! I’ve been needing a workshop for spiritual energy items. I have spiritual energy crystals, but never seen space crystals—I’ll ask in the group chat later.’

After using the blueprint, Lin Ye opened the third extra mission chest to find a teddy bear. Glancing back, he spotted the jester doll peeking out from under the bed, only half its head visible.

[Teddy Bear Doll]

[When carried, transfers one fatal injury to the bear (1/1)]

[Note: A doll’s love]

The palm-sized bear easily fit in a pocket. ’Great lifesaving item.’ Storing it away, Lin Ye prepared breakfast. While watering the xenomorph eggs, he noticed cracks had formed on several, with tiny red-and-white sprouts emerging like plants. The sprouts felt like biological tissue, with vein-like structures visible inside.

[Mutation Flesh Plant]

[Special offspring intentionally created by a unique organism, capable of growing specialized mutation structures]

[Note: Not edible]

”Finally sprouting. Was about to experiment on you otherwise.” Lin Ye placed minced meat near the sprouts and added some nutrient solution.

After breakfast, Lin Ye opened the group chat while eating.

”Looking to buy Mutation Cards—preparing to go all out tonight.”

”Wait, only going all out now?”

”Buddy, if you’ve been hiding in your shelter all this time, might as well wait to die. At least that way you won’t need to struggle.”

”Willing to fight is good. I’ll gift you one, but best pair it with nutrient solution.”

”Holy shit! Big bro’s gifting me! I wanna fight too! Once I can go out, I’ll warm your bed!”

”I can too~ Photos DM’d, 100% real.”

”Damn, porn pic guy still posting those eye-bleaching images?”

”System’s great except for not auto-censoring pics.”

”Ugh, victim here too. The legs looked nice, but after... I’m still traumatized.”

”Enough about him. Any Nighttime Activity intel?”

”Didn’t the expert say War Front? Details would need to come from them.”

”Lin bro around? Need spiritual energy items—name your price.”

”Anyone tried them? Are the expert’s spiritual energy items good?”

”Total garbage, don’t buy.”

”I can hear your abacus clicking from my shelter.”

Lin Ye: ”They’re indeed not great—prototypes after all. Anyone got Space Crystals? Need some for blueprint. Prices negotiable.”
