Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Lin Ye found the Jester Doll wedged between the bed and the wall. Holding it, he began examining his loot.

Aside from the familiar medical kit, K1 Pistol loaded with bullets, and simple rations pack, there were four new items this time.

[K1 Shotgun]

[A low-end firearm mass-produced by the organization, now only used by grassroots members]

[Note: Recoil proportional to firepower]

[High-Energy Piercing Blade]

[An experimental spiritual energy weapon developed by the organization, single-use only]

[Note: Must be activated at close range]

[Arbitrary Door Access Card]

[Using this will make the nearest door randomly connect to an unknown space. The passage lasts up to 10 minutes; closing the door ends it early (1/1)][Note: No one knows what horrors lie beyond the door]

[Mutated Seed of Spirit]

[A special seed that only grows properly in areas rich with spiritual energy]

[Note: Not edible]

The shotgun shared the same design as the pistol, with a 10-round magazine, though the bullets were noticeably larger.

The High-Energy Piercing Blade was the spherical weapon the Captain had given Lin Ye—just press the button to activate it.

The Arbitrary Door Access Card was a rigid card with a door illustration on the front and pale yellow backing, made of unknown material.

The Mutated Seed of Spirit was a gray spherical seed the size of a marble, feeling like a stone to the touch.

Lin Ye sorted these items carefully. The High-Energy Piercing Blade interested him most—if he could understand its technology, he might replicate similar items or even craft better ones.

At its core, it utilized spiritual energy. If his body could withstand it, he might even perform high-energy piercing attacks barehanded.

As for the other items: the shotgun seemed underwhelming, the door card would only be used in emergencies, and the spirit seed would wait until he found an energy-rich area.

Lin Ye glanced at his new title again.

[Backstab Master]

[In one mission, you eliminated nearly every enemy with backstabs]

[Note: Never turn your back on me]

After organizing his loot, Lin Ye took the Speed Rune Card to the game room.

After drinking a Spirit Potion, he activated the rune card.

With help from his Seed of Spirit and the potion, he regained control of his body within seconds.

A flood of knowledge about the Speed Rune crammed into his mind, giving him a splitting headache, but the potion soon eased it. The chaotic information neatly arranged itself in his consciousness, no longer burdening his mind.

The attendant watched speechlessly as Lin Ye sat down, playing cards while sorting the information and absorbing ambient spiritual energy to strengthen himself.

Eighty minutes later, Lin Ye completed two spiritual energy cycles. Distracted by organizing knowledge, he only won 41 red coins this time.

”I’ll be back,” Lin Ye said cheerfully to the attendant before leaving.

Back at the shelter, Lin Ye began crafting spiritual energy items. He planned to inscribe runes on his Nightfall Formalwear later—this was just practice.

......

After a busy afternoon, Lin Ye finished his preparations.

He didn’t know what awaited him tonight, but this was his first war—he had to be ready.

With time left before the Nighttime Activity, he prepared a lavish dinner and pulled the Jester Doll out from under the blankets to join him.

”Bro, I’ll need your help tonight. Nothing too much—just lend me that skill from this morning again,” Lin Ye said amiably.

The doll stared blankly into space, ignoring him.

”Then I’ll take that as a yes?”

”Good.”

Lin Ye lowered his voice and gently patted the doll’s head.

”Great, I knew you’d agree.”

Cheerfully, he opened the group chat and began eating.

The jester stood behind him, its hollow eyes fixed on his neck.

(695,644/1,000,000)

”Are you joining the Nighttime Activity?”

”Nope, I’ve already upgraded my shelter.”

”War Front sounds way too dangerous—I’m sitting this one out.”

”You guys go ahead. I’ll wait here for your return. (Food pic)”

”Ugh, I’m still short on mutation organs. No other resources in my shelter, no trades—just forced to risk my life out there.”

”Forget trading. The exchange zone’s mutation organs are almost gone, and the remaining prices are insane. (Food pic)”

”Yeah, some idiot’s listing them for 100 red coins. Who’d buy that? (Food pic)”

”Lin’s the real MVP, selling for just 10 coins. (Food pic)”

”Where’s the big shot? I’m ready to raid the exchange zone for gear. (Food pic)”

”STOP! I’m starving here! No more food pics!”

”Huh? People still starve? Just do a Station Mission—bring back anything tradable. I hauled a ton of canned food last time—enough for half a year. (Food pic)”

”Quit bragging. Some people are too scared to go out. BTW, wanna trade my instant rice for your beef cans? Looks tasty. (Food pic)”

”Damn it! My last two Station Missions had awful sites—ended up in the wild both times with bare minimum loot. Now I gotta trade for food!”

”RIP, buddy. Thoughts and prayers. (Food pic)”

[Nighttime Activity Starting]

[Tonight’s Event: War Front]

[00:59:59]

”...Why wasn’t there an option to join?”

”No way.”

”Damn it! The system’s trying to kill us?!”

”Whatever, I was joining anyway.”

”We’re dead.”

”I don’t wanna die...”

”WTF?! I’ve never even left my shelter!”

”Congrats, straight to the battlefield.”

”Should’ve gone out sooner...”

”Selling mutation cards + nutrient solution set. Trading for blueprints or function cards.”

”Bold ask. I’d rather trade with the expert.”

”Looking for defensive spiritual energy items—name your price.”

”Need a ranged weapon.”

”Anyone got spiritual energy protection gear from the expert? Paying premium!”

...

Lin Ye had no time for the group chat—his DMs exploded. Countless survivors begged to trade for his spiritual energy items, many offering item descriptions, including rune cards.

Most wanted protective gear, though some sought weapons or other tools.

Lin Ye accepted all offers, prioritizing valuable items until his stock ran out. Only then did he reluctantly stop.
