The Snake God with SSS Rank Evolution System

Isolde’s lips curved into a thin, sharp smile.

”Don’t underestimate us, Adam.”

Her hands rising as blood began to swirl around her—a dark, crimson tide that spread outward in all directions. The blood pooled on the grass, rippling like liquid shadow, spreading across the clearing in a widening circle.

Adam’s eyes narrowed. He leaped back, his wings snapping open to carry him out of the spreading pool. But as he rose, Lilith’s voice drifted from behind him, smooth and patient.

”I’ve been waiting for you.”

He turned. Lilith stood at the edge of the clearing, her hand raised, Soulreaver already dissolving into a dozen smaller fragments that hovered in the air around her like a halo of gleaming shards. They pulsed with dark light, each one aimed at a different point in his trajectory.

Adam’s voice carried a note of amused disbelief as he assessed the situation.

”Overkill much?”

Lilith’s smile widened, her voice carrying a note of playful satisfaction.

”Overkill is just a word for people who don’t plan ahead.”

The shards shot forward.

Adam twisted, his body flowing like water as he weaved between the projectiles. He dodged two, deflected a third with his forearm, and caught a fourth in his hand, crushing it into motes of silver light. But the shards kept coming, relentless and precise, each one aimed at a gap in his defense.

Then Isolde’s blood rose.

A crimson tendril wrapped around his ankle, yanking him off balance. Adam stumbled, and a shard slipped past his guard, grazing his shoulder.

He landed in a crouch, a low, breathless laugh escaping his lips.

”Alright, that was a good hit.”

Isolde’s voice drifted over, calm and analytical as she directed the blood around her.

”Not bad for a synchronized attack. Your defensive skills are impressive, but there’s a gap. Every time you take a hit that disrupts your shield, there’s a fraction of a second where you’re vulnerable. If we can time our attacks to hit right then...”

Lilith’s voice followed, smooth and thoughtful, her shards reforming around her fingers.

”Agreed. But we’ll need more than just timing. A predictable attack pattern is an invitation to be countered.” She paused, her crimson eyes gleaming. ”We need to be unpredictable. Hit him from angles he doesn’t expect.”

Adam rose slowly, brushing a thin line of blood from his shoulder. A slow, approving grin spread across his face as he looked at them.

”You two are actually pretty good when you work together.”

He took a step forward, walking through the scattered remnants of their attacks. The projectiles that came his way seemed to pass through empty air, his body flowing around them with an almost lazy grace.

He stopped a few paces from them, his voice carrying a note of genuine acknowledgment.

”Coordinated attacks from different directions. You’re both sharper than I gave you credit for.” His grin widened, a flicker of dark amusement passing through his crimson eyes. ”I might actually have to take this seriously.”

Lilith’s expression flickered with surprise, her voice carrying a note of genuine curiosity as she tilted her head.

”And here I thought you were holding back to avoid hurting us. Now you’re finally being serious?” She paused, a slow, knowing smile spreading across her face. ”How flattering.”

Isolde’s crimson blade shifted in her grip, her voice carrying a note of quiet anticipation as she settled into a ready stance.

”Then stop holding back and show us what you can do.”

Adam’s grin widened, a fierce, eager light kindling in his eyes.

”Heh. Don’t come crying to me when you’re on the ground.”

He closed the distance, Isolde’s blade swept up to meet him, but Adam was already past her, his fist driving toward Lilith’s chest with controlled precision.

Lilith’s shards shot forward, intercepting the strike, but Adam’s hand was already moving—his fingers closing around a shard and hurling it back toward her. She twisted, the fragment passing inches from her face.

Adam landed in a crouch, a low, breathless laugh escaping his lips.

”Let’s try that again.”

Lilith’s crimson eyes gleamed with dark satisfaction. Her voice carried a low, breathless edge, smooth and silken.

”Mmm... That’s quite thrilling, Adam. You’re making this far more entertaining than I expected.”

Adam’s lips curved into a sharp grin, his voice carrying a note of wry amusement as he landed in a crouch.

”Your words are really tempting me, Lilith. You should be careful.”

Lilith’s smile sharpened, a flicker of challenge passing through her crimson eyes.

”That’s exactly the intention.”

Adam’s grin faltered. His eyes widened slightly as realization dawned—a flicker of cold understanding that cut through the heat of the moment. His internal voice was sharp, alert.

’Shit! A trap!’

He turned, but it was too late. Isolde was already there, her blood wrapping around his limbs in a tight, unyielding grip, locking him in place. The crimson tendrils coiled around his wrists, his ankles, his torso, anchoring him to the spot.

Adam’s voice carried a note of strained amusement as he tested the bonds.

”Clever.”

Lilith stepped closer, her movements unhurried and deliberate. She raised her hand, her fingers curling with delicate precision, and the fragments of Soulreaver reformed in the air above her—a gleaming cone of dark, deadly shards aimed directly at Adam.

She lowered her hand.

The shards shot forward.

Adam’s [Aegis of the Colossus] flared to life, a shimmering barrier of golden light that snapped into place around him just as the shards struck. The impact was immense—a deafening CRACK that echoed through the clearing. The ground beneath Adam’s feet buckled, cracks spider-webbing outward as the force of the attack drove him downward.

The Aegis held, but only just. Cracks spread across its surface, and Adam could feel the strain in his bones.

Before he could recover, Isolde moved. Her blood hardened into a storm of crimson needles, each one sharp enough to pierce steel. They hovered in the air for a moment, glinting like deadly rain, then shot toward Adam in a devastating volley.

Adam’s mind raced. His bonds were still holding, the blood coils tightening with each passing second. He needed to break free—and he needed to do it now.

”[Seismic Shatter]!”

He slammed his palm against the ground, and a focused shockwave rippled outward, fracturing the earth beneath him. The shockwave traveled up through the blood coils, disrupting their cohesion, and the bonds around his limbs shattered.

He leaped back, his wings snapping open as he put distance between himself and the needle storm. But the needles followed, relentless and precise.

”[Tempest Sovereign]!”

A vortex of cutting wind and crackling lightning erupted from his palm, meeting the needle storm head-on. The two forces collided in a violent burst of crimson and silver, the needles shattering against the tempest’s fury.

Adam landed in a crouch, his chest heaving, a slow grin spreading across his face.

”Not bad. You two actually made me work for that.”

Isolde’s blood settled around her, the remnants of her needle storm pooling at her feet. Her voice was cool, carrying a note of quiet satisfaction.

”You’re harder to pin down than I expected.”

Lilith’s voice drifted over, smooth and thoughtful as her shards reformed around her fingers.

”We’ll need to be more unpredictable next time. He’s adapting too quickly.”

Isolde’s pale blue eyes narrowed as she studied Adam’s shifting stance, her voice carrying a note of cold calculation.

”Lilith. Create an opening—I’ll break through his defense.”

Lilith’s crimson eyes flickered with amusement, her voice carrying a smooth, dismissive edge.

”I already did. But you couldn’t land a clean hit. So why don’t you create the opening this time, and I’ll be the one to strike?”

Isolde’s jaw tightened, her voice sharp with frustration.

”Your attacks won’t break through his shield—they’re too scattered. If you’d focus on piercing through a single point, you might actually get somewhere.”

Lilith’s smile sharpened, a note of incredulous mockery creeping into her voice.

”Scattered? My attacks are precise and deadly. Did you not see the craters I left in the ground? Or were you too busy trying to land a hit that never came?”

Adam watched the exchange with growing amusement, his voice cutting through their bickering with a low, dry chuckle.

”You know, in the middle of a fight, getting distracted by an argument is a pretty bad idea.”

He closing the distance between them. He aimed for the space between them, forcing them to react.

”[Pressurized Spines]!”

A volley of high-pressure projectiles launched from his scales, streaking toward both of them from unexpected angles. Lilith’s threads snapped up to intercept, but the spines were faster than she anticipated—one grazed her shoulder, drawing a thin line of blood.

Isolde’s blood rose to meet the spines, forming a barrier, but Adam was already moving again.

”[Abyssal Pierce]!”

A lance of void energy shot from his palm, aimed at Lilith’s chest. She twisted, the attack passing inches from her torso, and retaliated with a volley of silver threads.

Adam’s wings snapped open, carrying him upward as the threads converged on empty space. He dove, his claws already extended.

”[Abyssal Claw]!”

Dark energy flared along his claws as he swept toward Isolde, forcing her to leap back. She retaliated with a wave of hardened blood, but Adam was already gone, his Abyssal Step carrying him behind Lilith.

He landed in a crouch, a low, breathless laugh escaping his lips as he straightened.

”Distraction is a dangerous thing in a fight. You two should know that by now.”

Isolde’s pale blue eyes narrowed, a flicker of frustration passing through them. Her voice carried a sharp edge as she addressed Lilith.

”Fine. You take the lead. I’ll follow your rhythm.”

Lilith’s smile widened, a flicker of approval passing through her crimson eyes.

”Now you’re thinking.”

She raised her hand, and the fragments of Soulreaver reformed around her, pulsing with dark light. Her voice dropped to a low, silken murmur.

”Then let’s prove that two heads really are better than one.”
