Martial Dao: Peace by Force

Chapter 194: Chapter 149: Iron-Blooded Methods

In front of them, a one-eyed brute was charging forward.

The brute was nearly two meters tall and shirtless, his body a mass of corded muscle. A smirk played on his lips, and his eye held the cruel amusement of a cat toying with a mouse.

In a corner, Sun Fan leaned against the wall, her face pale. A wound on her left arm was still oozing blood.

A young man stood before her. His face was terrifyingly pale, yet he didn’t retreat a single step. His gaze was locked on the charging one-eyed brute, every muscle in his body taut, like a wild beast protecting its cub.

”Brother, be careful!!!” Sun Fan screamed from behind him.

Sun Beixi didn’t look back.

He charged forward in a single step.

”This is between us! How dare you bastards set up my sister! I’ll kill you!!!”

The one-eyed brute’s lips twisted into a mocking smile.

It was as if he’d just heard the most ridiculous joke.

With a THUD, he stomped his foot and shot forward, crossing the three or four meters in an instant. He loomed over Sun Beixi like a descending mountain.

He clenched his fingers into a fist and threw a punch!

The air cracked!

Innumerable fine streams of Power gathered, wrapping around the explosive might of his muscles and bones, and crashed down on Sun Beixi with overwhelming force.

The gust from the punch arrived first.

The powerful gust distorted the very muscles on Sun Beixi’s face.

Feeling an immense, terrifying pressure, his entire frame began to tremble.

’Damn it!’

’I’m no match for him at all!’

The thought flashed through his mind, but there was no fear in Sun Beixi’s eyes—only ferocity.

He roared, ”Xiaofan, run!”

As he spoke, he crossed his arms to meet the punch.

’This whole trap was my fault. I’m the one who dragged my sister into this.’

’If the Golden Gate Sect hadn’t set this trap for me, Xiaofan wouldn’t have risked her life to come and save me.’

’So even if I die, I have to stop these bastards!’

”BAM!!”

Just then, the one-eyed brute’s fist slammed into his crossed arms.

”CRACK!!!”

The sound of bone cracking was sickeningly clear.

Sun Beixi’s arms went numb, his blood roiled, and his vision swam. If he hadn’t desperately held his ground, he would have already lost the will to fight and collapsed to his knees.

Pivoting on one foot, he forced himself to use the Momentum of the impact, swinging a backhand punch at the one-eyed brute’s face.

But...

”You... are far too weak.”

The one-eyed brute expressionlessly shot out a hand and clamped it around his wrist.

Sun Beixi shuddered. His qi and blood were still in turmoil, giving him no time to react. An immense force yanked him forward, pulling him right in front of the one-eyed brute.

”Let him go!”

In an instant, like a rabbit turned rabid, Sun Fan launched a frantic, life-or-death assault on the one-eyed brute with lightning speed.

She was fast. It was rare for someone at the Blood Tempering First Transformation to exhibit such a burst of qi and blood, but in a real fight between Martial Artists, it was nowhere near enough.

Her palm strike whistled through the air, but the one-eyed brute didn’t even turn his head.

He simply reached back with his other hand.

His hand descended like a great shadow, and Sun Fan’s palm strike landed in its center as if striking an iron plate.

Sun Fan’s expression changed. Before she could switch tactics, the hand had already seized her wrist and flung her aside.

”THUD!”

Sun Fan slammed into the wall and slid to the ground, spitting a mouthful of blood.

”Childish.”

The one-eyed brute sneered, scornful of Sun Fan’s suicidal attempt. He turned his gaze back to Sun Beixi.

Just then, Sun Beixi charged again.

It wasn’t that he didn’t know how strong his opponent was; he had learned that much from the first punch.

That was a level of Power he couldn’t possibly match.

’At least Blood Tempering Third Transformation!’

’And I’ve only just reached the threshold of the Second Transformation.’

’But no matter what, I can’t retreat.’

’Because... my sister is behind me.’

’I can’t, and I won’t, let Sun Fan fall into their hands.’

”Xiaofan, run! Listen to me, don’t worry about me! Run!” he roared, already charging at the one-eyed brute.

His right fist shot toward the man’s face while his left palm guarded his chest. His footwork was unsteady, his entire stance riddled with openings.

But his ferocity was real.

Like a mad dog.

The one-eyed brute didn’t even bother to lift an eyelid.

He merely tilted his head to dodge the punch and, with a sneer, slapped a palm against Sun Beixi’s chest.

”THWACK!”

A dull thud echoed.

Sun Beixi was sent flying again, slamming hard against the courtyard wall.

The brick wall shuddered. Pain seared through his back, and he nearly coughed up a mouthful of blood, but he gritted his teeth and forced it down. Propping himself up with the wall, he struggled to his feet, his legs trembling.

The one-eyed brute didn’t give chase.

He simply stood where he was, watching Sun Beixi’s teetering form with a sadistic smile playing on his lips.

”Protecting your sister? How touching.”

Shaking his head, he chuckled and finally took a step forward.

Sun Beixi tensed, instinctively raising his guard.

The one-eyed brute took another step.

Two steps, three steps.

He walked slowly, as if taking a stroll.

But with every step, the oppressive aura intensified.

By the fifth step, Sun Beixi found it difficult to breathe.

”But what will you protect her with?”

The one-eyed brute suddenly accelerated.

Sun Beixi’s vision blurred; the hand was already before him.

He tried to dodge, but his body couldn’t keep up with his mind...

’Too fast!’

The hand seized the front of his clothes and hoisted him up.

Sun Beixi’s feet left the ground. He was lifted into the air like a chick being held by the scruff of its neck.

”You?” The one-eyed brute lifted him to eye level, staring at his reddening face. ”A piece of trash who hasn’t even reached the Blood Tempering Second Transformation dares to show his claws to me?”

Sun Beixi grabbed the man’s wrist with both hands, trying desperately to pry it open, but it was like cast iron, refusing to budge.

His legs kicked wildly in the air. His face turned crimson as he struggled to breathe, his eyes becoming bloodshot.

”Brother!!!!”

Sun Fan’s voice cried out from behind him.
