Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 700: Chapter 698: Defeat_1

The aura of the Sky Apex Puppet, like that of a formidable ancient beast, stood at the peak of Green Cloud Mountain. Its awe-inspiring presence overshadowed everyone, compelling them to prostrate themselves before it.

This Sky Apex Puppet’s aura was roughly equivalent to that of a human warrior at the Seventh Realm of Sky Apex. Under Ling Yin’s dedicated refinement, this Sky Apex Puppet had reached high-grade quality.

However, despite its high quality, its strength was limited. The actual power a Puppet could display was largely dependent on its owner’s condition. If the owner could fully activate it, the Puppet could naturally unleash its full strength. But if the owner was in poor condition, the power the Puppet could exhibit would be significantly diminished.

”Little Sister Ling Yin, let me aid you!”

Xia Yunxin moved nimbly, flying onto the back of the Sky Apex Puppet. Liu Feiyue, Lin Ya, and the others had all been severely injured by Shentu Yan; even Xia Yunxin herself was wounded. There was no alternative, as only she and Ling Yin could currently contend with Shentu Yan.

If the two of them worked together, they still had a chance to defeat Shentu Yan.

”Alright, Elder Sister Xia. I will lead the offense while you find an opportunity to kill that old scoundrel, Shentu Yan.”

Ling Yin clearly harbored a deep hatred for Shentu Yan. After speaking with Xia Yunxin, she abruptly activated the Dragon Puppet beneath her. It suddenly flapped its silver wings, and its enormous body soared into the sky. The powerful wingbeats seemed to stir up a hurricane, uprooting large trees.

Watching the Dragon Puppet suddenly take flight and then charge towards him, Shentu Yan also abruptly spurred his Exotic Demon Beast into action. The beast raised its wide Bone Wings. Its copper-bell-like eyes shone with a fierce light, and then it shot like a bolt of lightning toward the Dragon Puppet in the sky.

As the two colossal creatures closed in, they opened their mouths almost simultaneously, spewing out silver and black beams of light that clashed fiercely in mid-air.

The two powerful energy beams intertwined in mid-air. Ultimately, the silver beam shattered the black one. It was clear that Ling Yin’s Sky Apex Puppet had the upper hand in this collision.

”Kill!”

Killing intent surged in Ling Yin’s eyes. At her command, the Dragon Puppet’s wings suddenly churned. The silver, glowing feathers on its Puppet wings shot out at Shentu Yan like countless Flying Daggers.

The Exotic Demon Beast spread its Bone Wings in front of its body, blocking the flurry of silver-winged daggers. These daggers bombarded the Bone Wings, and after igniting dazzling sparks, they all flew back and re-embedded themselves onto the Dragon Puppet’s wings.

”As expected of a Sky Apex Puppet! It can actually suppress Shentu Yan and his Exotic Demon Beast.”

The numerous experts of the Righteous and Devil Alliance were pleasantly surprised by this scene. The Sky Apex Puppet’s strength exceeded their expectations; they hadn’t imagined it would be so formidable.

”Heh, a mere inanimate object. Do you really think it can contend with me?”

Shentu Yan sneered. The Bone Wings shielding him slowly spread apart, and a sinister glow flashed in his eyes. ”Next, I’ll show you the true power of this Exotic Demon Beast.”

As his words fell, the massive body of the Exotic Demon Beast beneath him trembled. Its black flesh contracted and roiled, its frenzied energy burst forth, and a thick layer of Scale Armor emerged on its surface.

”This Exotic Beast can actually change its form!”

Many people were shocked. They had never before seen an Exotic Beast capable of transforming its physical form.

After transforming, the Exotic Demon Beast’s attack and defense were obviously significantly enhanced. It locked its blood-red pupils on the Dragon Puppet before suddenly charging out. In an instant, it appeared before the Dragon Puppet and crashed directly into it.

BOOM!

Another deafening sound rang out as sparks flew. The two colossal creatures collided again, causing the entire Green Cloud Mountain to tremble violently.

Everyone watched the battle between the two colossal creatures, their gazes transfixed. The outcome would likely depend on these two. At this moment, either one of them possessed the power to flatten the entire Green Cloud Mountain.

After transforming, the Exotic Demon Beast’s combat power had increased significantly. It was now nearly on par with its opponent, neither able to gain an advantage.

However, Xia Yunxin, being sharp-eyed, noticed that with every collision, Ling Yin’s face grew paler, and her aura weakened.

Shentu Yan, on the other hand, maintained a cold smile, observing Ling Yin’s condition and seeking an opportunity for a fatal blow.

This old scoundrel...

Having seen through Shentu Yan’s intentions, Xia Yunxin’s heart sank. She immediately wielded her Bewitching Sword, her form dissolving into a misty shadow that vanished on the spot. Her actual body was nowhere to be found.

”Do you think the same trick will work on me twice?”

Shentu Yan spoke unexpectedly. Then, without warning, he suddenly thrust his palm upwards. A dark silhouette was just materializing in that exact spot, and his blow sent it flying.

Xia Yunxin hadn’t expected Shentu Yan to predict her move so accurately. Unable to react in time, she was heavily injured by his palm strike and coughed up blood.

Without pausing, Shentu Yan attacked ruthlessly once more. He suddenly formed a finger-sword and shot out a destructive beam of light directly at the recoiling Xia Yunxin.

”Elder Sister Xia Yunxin!”

Seeing Xia Yunxin about to be hit by the light beam, Ling Yin’s expression tightened. Her eyes suddenly flashed, and two Yin Yang Fish patterns emerged within them. An invisible, powerful fluctuation abruptly spread out.

Suddenly, an illusory vortex appeared in front of Xia Yunxin. The beam of light shot directly into it, was swallowed by the vortex, and vanished completely.

BANG!

Shentu Yan’s light beam was strangely diverted, exploding in another area.

The next moment, the Dragon Puppet swooped in, catching the falling Xia Yunxin.

At the critical moment, Ling Yin had unleashed a series of Illusion Techniques. These had confused Shentu Yan, causing him to misjudge Xia Yunxin’s position, which led to the beam going astray. The illusory vortex itself was merely a part of the illusion.

However, after using this technique, Ling Yin’s face became even paler, and her bright eyes grew dim.

”You still have the mind to care for others?”

The chill on Shentu Yan’s face intensified. He sneered and then abruptly closed in on Ling Yin. His Exotic Demon Beast slammed fiercely against the Dragon Puppet, forcing it back several hundred meters.

”With such meager abilities, you dare to think you can defeat me? I have no time to play house with you ants. Now, I’ll send you all to West Heaven!”

As he repelled the Dragon Puppet, Shentu Yan suddenly roared. The True Qi within his body thundered with explosive sounds, his hair danced wildly, and an overbearing aura erupted from him as electric currents flickered across his skin.

True Qi abruptly condensed between Shentu Yan’s palms, forming a Black Thunderbolt Spear. He crossed several hundred meters in an instant, appearing before the Dragon Puppet. A ruthless glint flashed in his eyes as the Thunder Spear in his hand stabbed fiercely into the Puppet’s core.

Emitting a wail of despair, the Dragon Puppet’s eyes suddenly dimmed, and its body collapsed like a falling skyscraper.

PSCHT!

The Dragon Puppet suffered a grievous blow, and Ling Yin, as its controller, violently spurted a mouthful of blood. Her face showed a mixture of grief and self-loathing. Ultimately, had she still failed to help Ling Chen?
