Chapter 1906: Section 1907: The Profound Abyss

In the depths of the Endless Abyss, there lies a seemingly silent dark void.

At this moment, this long-silent void suddenly lit up with a light.

The source of light came from a soul, or more accurately, a soul that had just been thrown out from a vortex passage.

This soul emitted a faint glow, and although the light couldn’t dispel the dimness of the void, it outlined the form of the soul. The owner of this soul was a handsome youth.

However, the most shocking thing wasn’t the glowing soul itself, but what lay beneath the soul...the palm.

This seemingly normally-sized human soul was being held by an incredibly large hand. Just from the size of this hand, it could be inferred that the true body of its owner was definitely as large as a mountain.

This was indeed the case.

Within the range illuminated by the glowing soul, there appeared an enormous eye, as if the ”giant” had brought his head closer, observing the soul in his palm.

The soul in the palm was naturally Popota, who had been pulled into the vortex passage. And the owner of the observing eye was undoubtedly the unparalleled Great Demon God whose fame spread across the pan-dimensional plane and who had countless followers across various worlds—the Lord of the Profound.

Usually, the Lord of the Profound rarely opened his eyes, resting quietly year-round, spreading his thoughts across various planes. Because of this, the Profound Abyss where he resided was likely the simplest among the many unparalleled Great Demon Gods.

And this Demon God, who usually kept his eyes closed, actually opened his eyes at this moment?!

The nearby subordinates of the Lord of the Profound were already incredibly surprised. Though they had not approached the Profound Abyss, they could sense its situation.

The Lord of the Profound not only opened his eyes, but importantly, what he looked at was not them, but a human soul.

Was this human soul special?

If the Lord of the Profound were to answer this question, his answer would be affirmative. If this human soul were not special, he would not have descended so much demon god power to sign a contract with him at the time.

This human belonged to the Baiyuan Clan, a human race favored by the World Will of the Wizards’ Realm.

For various reasons, the Baiyuan Clan had almost disappeared in the river of history, which is precisely why the Lord of the Profound did not hesitate to tempt him into signing a contract when he discovered this pureblood Baiyuan descendant.

However, at the time, the Lord of the Profound’s idea was to leave a piece to spy on the will of the Wizards’ Realm, which might be useful in the future.

In other words, Popota’s soul was just a spare piece to him at the time. Valuable, but disposable at any moment.

However, after Popota went through the ”Changes on the Continent of Yuantan,” the Lord of the Profound began to pay a bit more attention to him.

Because the True Spirit of the Lord of the Flameless fell on the Continent of Yuantan.

Although the Lord of the Flameless was not an unparalleled Great Demon God, making a demon god’s True Spirit fall was no ordinary matter. At that time, practically all eyes in the abyss turned to the Continent of Yuantan, attempting to uncover the truth of the fall of the Lord of the Flameless’ True Spirit.

Among those was, of course, the Lord of the Profound. However, he did not obtain any information. When he wanted to further investigate the Continent of Yuantan, a sense of fear spontaneously arose in his heart.

For individuals at his level to experience ”fear,” it is definitely not simple; it represents an omen. It suggested that the entity that caused the ”Changes on the Continent of Yuantan” absolutely had the power to obliterate him.

The Lord of the Profound did not hesitate and chose to retreat. His choice was correct because, according to what he learned later, not only him, but even more mysterious ancients of the abyss were in awe of the great presence that descended upon the Continent of Yuantan.

Even those mysterious ancients dared not delve into it; the Lord of the Profound’s retreat was even wiser.

However, although he did not investigate the cause of the ”Changes on the Continent of Yuantan,” his curiosity did not wane. But he was not in a hurry because he had an information channel—

A follower with whom he had signed a soul contract was on the Continent of Yuantan at the time.

And this person was Popota.

The Lord of the Profound, due to fear of that ”terrifying existence,” dared not casually investigate or even too much focus on Popota. He just waited for Popota to die, for the soul to return to the abyss, and then it would be logical to investigate Popota’s memory information.

After all, Popota was already backlash from forcibly accepting the demon god’s power, and his death was not far off. So the Lord of the Profound did not need to worry about waiting too long.

Half a year was, to him, like the time difference of a human yawning.

Finally, he waited for Popota’s death. However, when Popota’s soul entered the Profound Abyss, he was puzzled.

This human soul, although bound by the power of the contract and brought to the Profound Abyss, why...

”His soul is a blank?!”

The cold eyes of the Lord of the Profound rarely flashed with a different color. This human soul, glowing in his palm, showed no expression, as wooden as a puppet without spirit intelligence.

But it was indeed a soul, with all the features of a soul, the particles composing the soul, and his spiritual sense all indicating that the soul in his palm had no anomalies.

Yet this soul without any anomalies was strangely devoid of all consciousness spark.

This meant that this soul had no memories at all, like a newborn baby. Even he, from such a blank soul, could not find any clues he wanted to know, let alone information about the Continent of Yuantan.

The eyes of the Lord of the Profound flickered with an uncertain gleam. Undoubtedly, this soul had been tampered with.

But how it was tampered with, he did not know.

Stripping a soul of its consciousness spark is not something an ordinary transcendent life can accomplish. Even he, who had lived for endless ages, could not perfectly strip away all consciousness spark like this.

Perfectly as if the consciousness spark itself gathered together and then autonomously separated from the soul.

He certainly did not think consciousness spark would separate from the soul on its own; surely someone manipulated it in the dark. And the Black Hand orchestrating all this definitely had considerable power... Could it be the presence that caused the ”Changes on the Continent of Yuantan”?

Because, in the eyes of the Lord of the Profound, the only valuable memory in Popota’s consciousness spark might be the segment of the ”Changes on the Continent of Yuantan.”

If his consciousness spark was erased, there was a high possibility it was related to this.

For this reason, he hesitated whether to investigate Popota’s situation before his death. Investigating might uncover some clues, but it might also attract the attention of that terrifying existence.

The Lord of the Profound quietly gazed at the vortex passage not far away.

This was the passage that pulled Popota from the Land of the Soul into the Profound Abyss, a kind of passage currently still beyond the Lord of the Profound’s full understanding, with a dimensional transcendence nature. The passage was not constructed by the Lord of the Profound, but was built by the great intent because of Popota signing the soul contract.

After Popota’s soul fell into the Profound Abyss, this vortex passage began to slowly disappear.

The Lord of the Profound thought for a while, and before the vortex passage completely dissipated, infused more demon god power into it.

After thinking for a long time, he ultimately decided not to get involved in troublesome waters and risk. Although he had made the decision not to investigate, he was a little unwilling and finally decided to, while remaining ”within the rules,” before the vortex passage dissipated, extend his demon god power to see Popota’s place of death and final scenes.

Perhaps he could bypass that ”existence” and find some clues.

Even if he couldn’t find anything, it didn’t matter. After all, the Lord of the Flameless wasn’t much related to him.

However, what disappointed the Lord of the Profound was that his attempt to transmit a demonic aura through the vortex passage was immediately discovered by the World Will of the Wizards’ Realm.

Under the suppression of the World Will and the dimensional distance, he almost saw nothing, only vaguely feeling that Popota’s body seemed to be moving and moving towards a place richer in World Will...
