Chapter 1905: Section 1906 Black-robed Bishop

The will of any world will inherently reject the intrusion of an Otherworld. For ordinary Otherworldly creatures, this manifests as the erosion of their physical bodies, just like Jon. For powerful beings like a Demon God, the resistance from the World Will strengthens significantly.

Moreover, this is the Sin World, known as the place where the World Will is most active. Even the mere breath of a Demon God can trigger such a violent sandstorm.

Of course, if a Demon God truly wishes to invade the Wizards’ Realm, there are ways to conceal their aura and avoid detection by the World Will, at least temporarily. However, the Lord of the Abyss at this moment does not have the intention to invade the Southern Domain. His goal is merely to pull Popota’s soul into the Abyss, so he doesn’t bother concealing his aura deliberately.

Although this aura of the Demon God is not particularly strong, it was still noticed by the World Will.

”Indeed, it’s the World Will reacting to the Demon God’s aura,” Sanders nodded solemnly. ”We need to leave. This place, after all, belongs to the Extreme Sect. Even if there is a continent between, they will still sense the abnormality in the World Will.”

”What about Popota?” Angel frowned, glancing at Popota’s corpse not far away.

At this time, the decayed and ugly corpse was sealed within a ghostly blue ice block by Sanders’ Eternal Freeze Technique. It was like an ice coffin, forever freezing Popota’s time at the moment of death.

”His corpse is still emitting the Demon God’s aura, the source of the World Will’s anomaly. If you carry his body, you’ll become a target.” Sanders said, ”Just leave him here, don’t worry about it.”

”But if we leave it here, won’t it be discovered by the people of the Extreme Sect?” If the people from the Extreme Sect come to investigate, the likelihood of discovering Popota’s corpse will greatly increase.

”I’ve completely removed all traces from Popota’s body, and his appearance has changed. Not to mention the people of the Extreme Sect, even the Wizards from the Frost Moon Alliance who participated in the Lassudral campaign wouldn’t recognize him.” Sanders squinted slightly, ”Moreover, it’s even better to be discovered by the people of the Extreme Sect. Bringing it back to their headquarters makes it less likely to be detected by the Demon God.”

Angel thought about it and agreed.

After Popota’s death, since his consciousness has already entered the Wilderness of Dreams, he naturally transforms into a resident of the Dream Realm. Thus, his corpse is of no use to him now.

Of course, there is still some association between the corpse and the soul. However, Popota’s soul was dragged into the Abyss by the Demon God, so it doesn’t affect the corpse left in the current world.

The only thing it might affect is if Hua Que really ventures into the Abyss in the future and retrieves Popota’s soul. Only then would there be a need to consider the issue of the corpse.

But that is a matter for the future. Besides, if Hua Que possesses the capability to snatch Popota’s soul from the hands of the Lord of the Abyss, obtaining Popota’s corpse from the Extreme Sect wouldn’t be difficult.

With this in mind, Angel nodded, ”Let’s leave.”

Before departing, Sanders did one more thing. Using an extremely precious casting material, he released a special spell technique that disrupted all energy fluctuations at the scene, making it challenging even for a Prophet Wizard to trace the past events.

While Sanders was casting, Angel double-checked to ensure no significant information was left on Popota’s corpse that could reveal too much.

Once everything was done, as they watched the approaching terrifying sandstorm, Sanders pulled Angel, stepping into the yet-to-be fully closed Plane Corridor, and disappeared.

Shortly after Sanders and Angel left, two figures dressed in dark robes appeared nearby.

They both wore hoods that obscured most of their faces. From the lips and nose bridge visible, it could be seen that the one in the gray robe was a young man, while the one in the black robe was a woman with black lipstick.

”Bishop, the Origin of Chaos should be around here.” It was the man who spoke; his voice was cold, like raindrops falling on a cold blade, both chilling and sharp.

The one respectfully addressed as Bishop was the woman with black lipstick. Under her hood, she quietly closed her eyes, sensing the remaining aura around them: ”It’s the aura of the Lord of the Abyss.”

The gray-robed man pondered for a moment, ”I remember the doctrine once mentioned an agreement between the Unparalleled Great Demon God of the Abyss and the great presence of the Origin World, not to step into the Wizards’ Realm readily. Therefore, the source of this aura is likely a follower of the Lord of the Abyss.”

”Moreover, such a dense aura, even among the followers of the Lord of the Abyss, is rare.” The black-robed Bishop nodded, a brilliant smile playing at the corner of her lips, yet it didn’t reach her eyes. ”To dare conspire with an Otherworldly Demon God in the Sin World, that’s quite a bold move.”

”Immediately find this Demon God follower and execute them.” Her tone was ice-cold, carrying a murderous intent.

The gray-robed man didn’t hesitate, half-kneeling on the ground, bowing to receive the order: ”Understood!”

When the gray-robed man lifted his head, the fierce wind of the sandstorm blew his hood back, revealing a handsome face. If Angel were here, he would recognize this person as Saladin, who had previously clashed with Ganke and Shan.

Saladin’s search soon bore results, after all, the ”Demon God follower” hadn’t hidden, nor did he try to evade.

He found the eternally frozen corpse of Popota under a sand dune.

”Bishop, I’ve found it. But it’s already dead, and it seems not to be a human.” Saladin brought the ghostly blue ice block in front of the black-robed Bishop.

The black-robed Bishop studied the terrifying corpse under the Eternal Freeze ice for a while, then slowly said, ”It is a human, just a human who was backfired by a Demon God contract.”

”Though, what’s peculiar is...” confusion flashed in the black-robed Bishop’s eyes, ”It appears to be a human follower who was backfired long ago by the contract. Being backfired means the Lord of the Abyss had already abandoned him. So why, after death, is the Demon God’s aura still continuously emitting from him?”

Saladin also sensed something was amiss. Though he hadn’t advanced to an Official Wizard yet, he had dealt with numerous Demon God followers, none of whom possessed such a potent Demon God aura.

”Could it be that the Demon God is actively dispersing his aura through this body?” the black-robed Bishop muttered quietly, ”But that makes little sense.”

She pondered deeply yet gained no insights. Then, her gaze turned to the ghostly blue ice block that encased the entity.

”Eternal Freeze Technique, a Level 1 spell technique. This follower, who was backfired, had long lost the ability to cast spells, so it’s impossible he released it himself... There must have been someone else beside him before he died, perhaps his accomplice.” The black-robed Bishop lifted her head sharply, ”Finding this person might reveal the truth.”

This time, the search for the individual was not left for Saladin to handle alone. Releasing the Eternal Freeze Technique indicated the person was definitely an Official Wizard, and Saladin’s strength was insufficient to address this challenge.

However, when she expanded her spiritual power and searched the surrounding hundreds of miles, she found no traces of anyone.

She thought for a moment and said to Saladin, ”Take me to where you discovered this corpse.”

Upon reaching the vicinity of the sand dune where Popota once lay asleep, her brows furrowed abruptly, ”Here, there’s residual aura of Void Sigil Stones; someone opened a Plane Corridor?”

If the person left through the Plane Corridor, failing to find them seemed understandable.

”To travel to the Sin World via a Plane Corridor, and then leave... Paying such an enormous price, was it solely to freeze a Demon God follower’s corpse? Regardless, the choice to come to the Sin World must have been premeditated.” She frowned; even if it was premeditated, she couldn’t fathom the other’s motive.

”It’s a pity; the Star-Gazing Day is near, and the Prophet Wizards in the cult have gone to the Crown Star Church, unable to help in probing the residual information.” She thought for a while and then said to Saladin, ”Forget it, since the other left through the Plane Corridor, finding them won’t be easy. We can only consider it after the Star-Gazing Day ends. First, let’s bring the follower’s corpse back and see if there’s any discovery.”
