Chapter 1890: Section 1891 Prayer to the Sea

Her intention, it seems, is for Flafiel to continue singing ”Prayer to the Sea.”

And this rose is a gift in exchange.

Faced with the little girl’s flattering gesture of giving a flower, Flafiel found it slightly amusing. Continuing to sing wasn’t impossible, as long as Jon agreed.

After all, the accompaniment was being played by Jon.

With this in mind, Flafiel turned to look at Jon, intending to ask for his thoughts.

Before Flafiel could speak, Jon gently nodded, ”I understand, continue singing. Besides, Shanni will also study this part later; it can help her get familiar with it first.”

Flafiel’s face showed a grateful smile.

The next moment, the melody of the second part of ”Prayer to the Sea,” played by Jon, began, transitioning in mere seconds from gentle rains to a raging storm.

For a novice singer like Shanni, quickly blending into the song’s emotions was extremely difficult. But for Flafiel, it was very simple.

Flafiel closed her eyes, meditated for two seconds, and when she reopened them, her gaze changed, softening and smoothing out the edges, transforming into the fisherwoman enduringly waiting by the sea for her husband’s return.

As the music entered the verse, her mournful voice instantly transported everyone into another realm.

The Dream Plant Fairy was initially worried that Flafiel didn’t understand her intention, but now, feeling Flafiel’s aura in full display, her tightened core of life began to pulse again.

The second part of ”Prayer to the Sea,” also named ”Receiving the Tragic News,” tells of a night spent amidst a hurricane, after which a returning fellow townsman informs the anxious fisherwoman that her husband is missing. They found a capsized canoe on the sea, which belonged to her husband.

Upon receiving the tragic news of her loved one, the fisherwoman felt her entire world collapse.

Thus, the second part is the saddest among the five parts of ”Prayer to the Sea.” This sorrow has different layers—starting with the anxious storm, followed by the shocking news, and eventually, the helpless acceptance of reality, leading to despair.

While the piano accompaniment enhances the atmosphere, it’s an opera, and the greatest emotional expression still requires Flafiel to convey.

This isn’t a simple song section to perform; conveying multiple layers of sorrow that allow listeners to empathize is a tremendous test of an actor’s skills.

According to Jon’s knowledge, Flafiel is the only one in Originheart City capable of performing this section in its entirety.

The same was true this time; Flafiel performed ”Receiving the Tragic News” perfectly, and everyone was immersed in her lyrics. Even Adar and Shanni, initially intent on keeping an eye on the little girl to prevent any mischief, were captivated by Flafiel’s performance. The music’s atmosphere held them tightly, leaving no attention to spare.

It wasn’t until the second part slowly concluded that everyone began to recover. Only then did Adar have the mind to focus on the outsider.

Perhaps due to the interlude between the second and third parts, the small girl seemed to come to her senses somewhat, though her eyes were red and teary, clearly still enraptured by the song’s mood.

Seeing this, Adar finally started to understand the words Mentor Jon once said: good music is communication between hearts, the only language without barriers.

Indeed, it was so, for although the alien girl didn’t understand Flafiel’s lyrics, she felt the sentiment the song conveyed, allowing her to connect emotionally without relying on the lyrics.

When the third part of ”Prayer to the Sea” was about to begin, Adar noticed the little girl make a strange gesture.

She extended her hand, and a green halo circled it. In a short while, a tree appeared in her palm.

More precisely, it was a projection of a tree.

While Adar was puzzling over what this large tree projection was, he saw the little girl move her lips as if she were speaking to the tree.

By the time Adar refocused, she had already put away the projection and was once again staring piously at Flafiel.

Meanwhile, the accompaniment to the third part, ”Siren’s Song,” officially began!

From the outset, the accompaniment of ”Siren’s Song” reached a crescendo, as if the sea was being assaulted by a hurricane. Just a few powerful notes transported everyone back into the musical realm.

Adar, too, no longer kept his attention on the little girl, as she, like him, was immersed in the world of ”Prayer to the Sea.”

The third part is written from the perspective of the fisherwoman’s husband, recounting what happened on that stormy night. From his unyielding strength to battling the sea, ultimately caught by reality, overturned by waves and sinking to the seafloor, ultimately captured by the Sea Demon and becoming a prisoner...

This part of ”Prayer to the Sea” is its climax, showcasing both the man’s power and tenacity, as well as the eerie allure and fear of the Sea Demon. Coupled with the silence of falling into the deep sea, the emotional intensity of the whole section is continuously fluctuating. This part also requires excellent singing ability, for a singer lacking in strength might cause the audience to disengage from the musical space amid rapid emotional shifts, leading to an imperfect performance.

Of course, Flafiel wouldn’t make such a low-level mistake; even while singing about the silent deep sea, she captured the hearts of her audience tightly.

The entire section unfolded like an epic painting, and even though Adar had listened many times, he still found himself in awe of this part’s brilliance.

When the third part ended, Adar once again turned his gaze to the alien girl, and what he saw startled him.

One, two, three... twelve?!

Previously there was only one alien girl, but at this moment, a total of twelve aliens of varied appearances were gathered around her!

There were males and females, some over a meter tall, others as small as a palm. All the aliens were extraordinarily attractive, resembling legendary Elves.

However, Adar wasn’t focused on their appearances, but rather...

How did so many aliens get here?

Adar couldn’t resist wanting to see what the others thought about it, but Flafiel was still immersed in her song, and Jon engrossed in his accompaniment. Only Shanni exchanged a perplexed look with him.

What on earth was happening with these aliens?

While Adar remained puzzled, the fourth part began.

The fourth part, ”Sad Reunion,” tells the story of the fisherwoman who ventures out to sea alone, overcoming many hardships, and ultimately reunites with her husband.

Though the plot is simple, it’s also one of the climaxes of ”Prayer to the Sea.”

Once Flafiel finished singing, Adar observed the group of aliens, noticing their expressions mirrored that of the initial diminutive girl, all gazing at Flafiel as though enchanted.

Their enraptured expressions were akin to looking upon a goddess.

And the fifth part, the final section, was fittingly ”Blessing from the Goddess.” Moved by their love, the Ocean Goddess restored health to the dying fishing couple and granted them her blessing.

Ultimately, ”Prayer to the Sea” concluded with a perfect ending.
