Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1235: Section 1236: One Week

Sanders left with a face full of bewilderment.

The reason for his bewilderment was not only because Angel had crafted the Fire Transmission Stone, the highest-grade casting medium for wizards, but also because of something else.

According to Angel, he had now gained the friendship of the Lord of the Ice Valley—Odeclass!

What did that mean?

It equaled Odeclass standing on the allied front with Illusion Demon Island in the Abyss, meaning they had a powerful ally in the depths.

If this relationship was managed well, perhaps in the future the lineage of Illusion Demon Island could establish its own dedicated safe zone within the area of influence under the deterrence of the Lord of the Ice Valley.

Not to mention establishing a stronghold city, having a temporary resting place in the Abyss would also be very good.

Sanders was well aware of the value in this; it amounted to a breakthrough of several large wizard alliances’ Abyss blockade lines! For any witcher organization, this was an opportunity not to be missed!

However, what he didn’t know was that Angel had now actually obtained a construction permit for a real Abyss safety zone.

Continent of Yuantan!

…

After Sanders left, Angel returned to the Ice Valley. Sanders planned to go back to Sky Island first to deal with some aftermath and would come to Ice Valley to find him in a few days.

When Angel returned to the Ice Crystal Palace, he didn’t see Odeclass; he must have gone underground to the Fire Crystal Mine to begin restoring his damaged strength.

Angel then went back to the small classroom of the Alchemy Chamber. Upon his return, he saw Popota standing at the window, looking out.

Angel pondered for a moment and then headed to Popota’s room.

“Angel, I just saw something outside…” Popota hesitated a bit, knowing that Angel was supposed to craft the Fire Transmission Stone for Odeclass. But the level of the anomaly outside didn’t seem very pronounced, so he quietly wondered if Angel’s alchemy attempt had failed, which was why he appeared to hesitate, “I heard that the failure rate of alchemy is far higher than the success rate. If you failed, don’t be discouraged.”

“You’re right about that, but, I haven’t failed.”

“It’s okay to try making it again… Eh? You just said you didn’t fail? Do you mean you succeeded in crafting the Fire Transmission Stone?” Popota was stunned for a moment before he realized.

Angel neither confirmed nor denied, simply nodding his head.

“But the anomaly outside…” Why so small? Although Popota didn’t know the specific effects of the Fire Transmission Stone, he’d heard that wizards held this legendary object in high regard. Being a thing of legend, it surely shouldn’t have such a subdued anomaly, right?

Angel himself did not know the reason for the anomaly but still shared his speculation.

“To be accurate, it wasn’t crafting, but a synthesis. I combined tens of thousands of pieces of the Fire Transmission Stone into one complete stone. Thus, the anomaly was quite subdued, I guess.”

Popota, not understanding alchemy or the true value of the Fire Transmission Stone, responded blankly after hearing Angel’s explanation, “I see.”

Putting aside the Fire Transmission Stone for now, Angel came to talk to Popota mainly about another matter.

“Just now, I went outside the Ice Valley and saw my mentor.”

“Your mentor… Are you referring to His Excellency Illusion Demon?” Popota’s expression became grave instantly.

“Yes, the mentor brought some news from Sky Island.” Angel glanced at Popota, “Your identity, someone has begun to suspect it.”

Initially, when Popota appeared at the top of the Void Tower, he revealed himself as a Baiyuanian.

Before that, Angel had disclosed to Samantha and others that a human named Popota had appeared in Lassudral. Therefore, now someone has equated whether Popota could be the same person who took away the Primeval Flame and Aoluxiya.

However, Popota’s strength had a considerable gap compared to the alien figure who had appeared at the tower’s summit.

Moreover, during this period, Popota had always followed Angel and benefited from the prophetic shielding, which is why Luci had not noticed him immediately.

But with the ability of wizards to discover the truth, Popota’s exposure was not far off.

Popota had anticipated the exposure. After his plans hadn’t succeeded, he had been prepared for the outcome of being hunted by Monty. He only hoped it would take a little longer, at least to see his sister Hua Que before dying.

Looking at Popota’s dim eyes, Angel sighed inwardly.

Towards Popota, Angel felt both hatred and pity. He could not muster sympathy, but couldn’t let him die so soon either, for Popota’s death would mean his soul would go directly into the hands of the master of the depths, and if the master of the depths sensed his anomaly, it would be troublesome.

“You don’t need to worry. Even if you are exposed, they won’t be able to find you for the time being.” Angel briefly explained the effect of Blood Night Shelter. With the prophetic shielding, as long as Popota didn’t stray too far from him, he wouldn’t be discerned by the Prophet Wizard.

Popota showed a grateful look to Angel, suddenly as if he remembered something, “Once I’m exposed, won’t that implicate the Barbarian Cave?”

After all, Popota had stayed in the Barbarian Cave for so long, and he did have some feelings for it, and he was also somewhat worried about Dororo’s situation.

After all, aside from himself, Dororo was the only Baiyuanian left.

“Don’t worry. Not to mention there are Prophet Wizards who can discern the truth. If Monty can’t even differentiate that much, he wouldn’t be the top figure of the Southern Domain.”

Hearing this, Popota finally felt relieved.

Telling Popota these things was mainly to warn him not to wander off alone and to avoid suicidal actions.

After speaking, Angel planned to return to his room for meditation.

As he was leaving, Angel caught a glimpse of a bright crimson glow from the corner of his eye.

It was the chain that he had crafted for Popota before, wriggling out from behind Popota, moving gently towards Angel’s direction as if it were a living creature.

Angel recalled what Popota had told him: the chain had developed a spirit, and it seemed to faintly recognize Angel as its creator, thus feeling a certain kinship with him.

As an alchemist, Angel was actually quite eager to research an object that had developed a spirit, but the way this chain had come to life was far too bloody, and there were also traces of the Lord of the Abyss.

What a pity.

With a sigh in his heart, Angel nodded slightly to the chain, then pushed open the large door and left.

Back in his room, Angel began his routine meditation, and also devoted a lot of time to continue constructing the “Gate Model” he had learned from that strange world.

He had been too busy to work on the model recently, but now that his strength had significantly improved, Angel wanted to establish his first Witchcraft Slot as soon as possible.

In the blink of an eye, a week passed.

Angel had been secluded in the room for a week, focusing on meditation and the construction of the “Gate Model,” while also finding time to study the effects of the newly acquired green pattern.

However, in general, there was not much progress in meditation because his strength had reached a plateau, and the daily meditation was just a way to restore Magic Power; as for studying the green pattern, it would take a lot of time to thoroughly analyze it, and nothing much was discovered in just a week.

The most significant progress was actually in the construction of the “Gate Model.”

In these days, the progress of the Gate Model was visibly rapid.

Based on Angel’s estimation, if he used all the Magic Power he gained from daily meditation to construct the Gate Model, it would take just over twenty more days to complete it.

However, to prevent any emergencies, Angel still didn’t dare to completely deplete the Magic Power in his Magical Core; otherwise, it would be even faster.

This day, after finishing his meditation, Angel didn’t immediately start working on the Gate Model. Instead, he opened the door to his room and walked outside.

He had been here for almost half a month and hadn’t yet taken a close look at the area where “Feng” had lived.

Feng had a very strong presence in this series of events.

Since Odeclass had mentioned that this area had been completely sealed off after Feng left, Angel wanted to see if there were any clues left by Feng.

Angel started at the main hall, searching room by room.

He didn’t miss any place, including the studio, Popota’s bedroom, and even the half-eaten piece of black bread on the dining table in the main hall, which he examined with the Eye of Nalda.

However, in the end, he found nothing.

It seemed that Feng did not leave any clues behind when he left.

Angel sighed. It seemed that if he wanted to know more about Feng, he would have to wait until Odeclass finished his seclusion and ask him.

Since there was nothing to be found, Angel prepared to cross the snowy corridor and return to his room to continue building the Gate Model.

However, halfway through the corridor, Angel suddenly paused.

He tilted his ear, listening. Amidst the howling wind, a sound seemed to pierce through?

Angel strained his hearing; the deafening wind filled his ears. Filtering out the noise, he faintly heard a call… in Demon Language?

Angel was momentarily stunned, then with a light tap of his toes, he flew towards the exit of the Ice Valley.

The closer he got to the exit of the Ice Valley, the clearer the calling became.

“Shopkeeper, where are you?”

“Shopkeeper!”

Hearing the familiar call, Angel immediately realized it was probably Greerwu looking for him.

Angel didn’t suspect anything and flew straight out of the Ice Valley.

As soon as Angel appeared from the Ice Valley, he saw a small, fiery creature with slender limbs rushing towards him: “Shopkeeper, it’s great! You finally came out!”

Angel looked back and saw that it was indeed Greerwu.

Just as Angel was about to greet him, Greerwu said urgently, “Shopkeeper, quick, take me to the Ice Valley to hide!”

Angel looked at Greerwu with curiosity, noting that its flame seemed dimmer than usual, and its eyes were filled with panic.

“What happened to you?”

Greerwu hurriedly replied, “I was halfway here to find you when a crazy woman started chasing and attacking me. She’s still following me! Quick, let’s hide in the Ice Valley for a bit!”

“Oh no, she’s coming!” Greerwu suddenly cried out, then in a panic, tried to pull Angel toward the Ice Valley.

Angel immediately activated the Flame Mark, ready to take Greerwu into the Ice Valley first.

But just then, Angel caught a glimpse of a figure swooping through the forests outside the Ice Valley.

When he saw the appearance of the newcomer, Angel froze.

“Eh? Lady Madeline?!”
