Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1206: Section 1207: Brilliant

I don’t understand why, but I don’t seek to.

Because right now, aside from this, I have no better options.

To avoid those powerful beings setting their sights here from discovering the clues, Angel didn’t hesitate any longer, lifted his head, and a green pattern danced in his eyes, twining around his right hand.

The green pattern in his palm flickered and pressed against the trunk.

As Angel was about to touch the Sparkling Green Tree, the wind that was blowing suddenly became stronger.

The collective consciousness of the continent had already considered the True Spirit Force within the tree as its “lifesaving medicine” and was unwilling to let Angel be contaminated by it.

The fierce wind, which hit the skin, brought a knife-like pain.

Not far away, Greerwu, was even blown away by this abrupt gale. Struggling with wounds that reopened, Greerwu managed to take root again dozens of meters away.

Although Greerwu was injured, its physical strength was comparable to that of an Official Wizard, or perhaps even stronger than that of a non-bloodline Official Wizard, since it was essentially a Demon.

According to Greerwu’s thought, if it was blown away, then the store owner would probably be carried off by the strong wind as well, after all, even if the store owner’s “core” had been switched, the fact remained that his body was frail.

However, when Greerwu looked over, it was surprised to find that not only had Angel not been blown away, he hadn’t even moved his body, standing firm as a rock, unshaken like a mountain.

Angel could naturally feel the wind’s obstruction and rejection; he even suspected he might be swayed by it. As he pondered whether to use Tricks to reinforce himself, he suddenly found that the wind blowing on him was not as forceful as he had imagined.

No, that’s not right, the force was still great, but the essence of Angel’s body had undergone a transformation, making it not so difficult to stand in the wind.

Comparing Angel with Greerwu, it was evident that the augmentation of Angel’s physical body had completely exceeded his own expectations.

Nevertheless, Angel didn’t have the time to explore what great changes had occurred in his body; instead, he continued reaching his hand towards the tree.

The closer he got, the stronger the wind became.

But in the end, the raging storm did not blow Angel away.

The green pattern in his palm touched the tree bark. Instantly, the entire Sparkling Green Tree emitted a startling light that shot up to the sky, piercing the Void!

Within this beam of light, dozens of fine green patterns connected to Angel’s palm emerged, circling around the tree incessantly.

The changes here had also reached the distant Darklands.

Seated Above the Throne, the hunched figure wearing a Totem Mask, suddenly stood up!

With agile movements, he waved his bone staff, forcefully hitting the ground, spreading terrifying ripples!

Along with the spread of the ripples, a long humming sound emerged from his throat.

If Angel were here, he would realize that the meaning of the syllables emitted by the Totem Mask was, “Do not obstruct!”

Moreover, the language he spoke was not the Demon Language… but the Abyss Language.

Angel’s palm was still touching the tree bark, the effects of the green pattern continuously feeding back, and the “tree form” constraining the True Spirit Force began to disintegrate.

Angel looked serious because he knew that the continent’s collective consciousness had no actual thinking; it didn’t understand that what Angel was doing was actually beneficial to the continent. It would only feel as if Angel was taking away its hope.

Hence, before the “tree form” crumbled and the True Spirit Force began to truly fuse with the continent, he still had to face the hostility of the continent’s collective consciousness.

Since the storm could not blow him away, perhaps, new accidents would emerge, like underground Magma.

Angel had already seen a Magma pool not far away starting to surge, and even the ground beneath his feet showed signs of rising temperature. Facing the mighty power of nature, Angel didn’t dare to underestimate it.

However, what surprised Angel was that as he prepared himself for the upcoming violent Storm, suddenly, the wind stopped.

Angel had only seen the wind pick up abruptly but had never seen a naturally forming cyclone that had reached him suddenly dissipate.

Not only had the wind stopped, the Fire Serpents in the Magma pool rolling over and the magma welling up from underground were also receding.

Every natural phenomenon that threatened Angel disappeared. Even the dust and flames, previously lifted by the cyclone and fluttering down from the sky, avoided the spot where Angel was standing.

He was now as if in an absolute safe zone.

It was as though the continent’s collective consciousness was protecting Angel.

Angel was stunned for a moment, then let out a wry laugh, “It seems that you’ve understood what I’m doing…”

Before, Angel had thought it somewhat wasteful to disperse the True Spirit Force across this continent. However, it was better than leaving it for others to gain strength from, and besides, he had no other choice, hence he had followed the message left by that person, handing the True Spirit Force over to the entire continent.

But now, feeling the protection of the continent’s collective consciousness, Angel took some consolation in “at least not having done this in vain.”

Even though he was well aware that the collective consciousness of the continent would not bring him any benefits, that was quite normal, wasn’t it? Whether it be the collective consciousness of the continent or the will of the world, they were the aggregate of consciousness, inherently devoid of human emotions.

With the active quenching cooperation from the continent’s collective consciousness, Angel could focus on controlling the green pattern to break down the “tree form.”

And because there were no external disturbances, he could focus more intently on comprehending this “Pattern.”

The pattern of the Sparkling Green Tree and the one released by Angel were both one-time uses. In other words, they did not belong to Angel, nor were they intrinsic to his right eye; rather, they were consumables left behind by the individual suspected to be Shava.

Once used, they would completely disappear.

Therefore, Angel hoped to study this pattern before it vanished.

Engrossed in his research, the continent’s collective consciousness marked the area surrounding the tree as forbidden territory, such that even the shouts of Greerwu could not penetrate.

Since not even sound could enter, Greerwu naturally couldn’t step foot in it; thus, he could only gaze helplessly at Angel from afar and then look at the “Eyes of Light,” shrouded by the purple-white Primeval Flame not far from Angel, where Aoluxiya’s soul and the Fire Relics resided.

When Angel sensed the pattern on his palm fading away, he reluctantly opened his eyes.

He had briefly studied the previous pattern and discovered that its surface level meant “Constraint,” similar to a pattern on his right hand.

However, when he continued his analysis based on the “Constraint” model, he found the second layer of data to be different.

The pattern on his right hand revealed a series of five datasets: Constraint, Dissolution, Fusion, Passage, and Gate.

The effect of the pattern on his right hand was precisely what Angel had used as the basis to acquire the powers of the Wilderness of Dreams.

However, the one-time use pattern left behind by that person, although superficially signifying “Constraint,” carried a second dataset that was different, not “Dissolution,” but another structure Angel had never seen before.

Because time was short, Angel found it difficult to discern the exact nature of this structure, but its general effect could be summarized as “Stabilization or Tenacity.”

It was likely used to stabilize energy.

Angel felt some regret. Given more time for research, he might have been able to reverse-engineer this pattern. However, on second thought, had he chosen not to use the pattern and instead dedicated time to research, by the time he figured it out, countless powerful beings would probably have entered this land, and he would then have to worry about his own safety.

…

As the pattern in Angel’s palm disappeared, the pattern surrounding the tree also gradually dispersed.

At the same time, every branch of the Sparkling Green Tree became a flowing vent, from which the True Spirit Force began to seep out gradually.

Green dots of light flickered and dimmed, like stars hung on branches, twinkling with dreamlike luster.

The Sparkling Green Tree was undergoing its final metamorphosis.

Like a cicada hiding in the earth for years, only to emerge on a lingering summer day to sing its song with its life!

The metamorphosis of the Sparkling Green Tree also meant that it was expending its own life force to bloom spectacularly!

Metamorphosis officially began with the True Spirit Force gushing from the branches!

This True Spirit Force, like green mist, enveloped the trunk in layers—sparse and dense—adding to the shimmering dots, creating beauty that defied description in words!

When a gentle breeze came by, this condensed mist, seemingly thick enough to drip, was carried into the distance.

This process was leisurely and peaceful.

Yet inexplicably, Greerwu, witnessing this scene, felt a brilliance flourishing silently within the tranquility!

The smooth breeze, with its blowing sound, seemed like a beautiful hymn.

It was writing and singing of the years gone by and new life’s longing!

…

The wind carried away the clouds of True Spirit, drifting towards the far unknown.

And the luminescent dots dispersed from the branches.

As these dots brushed the ground, the fissures created earlier by apparitions or battles healed visibly to the naked eye.

The light that fell on Greerwu healed its once-again fractured wounds in an instant, restoring its complexion from pale to rosy red. Greerwu felt better than it ever had before.

Moreover, Greerwu also discovered something; the potion previously fed to it by the store owner seemed to have touched some dormant power within it. Now, as the luminescent dots descended, that slumbering force seemed to show signs of stirring awake.

Greerwu was undergoing a transformation, and so was Popota.

He had almost become a pool of muck, but when the dots of light merged into his body, his nearly collapsed flesh began to miraculously rejuvenate.

Even his consciousness, about to withdraw into The Profound Abyss, was pulled back from the darkness.

Popota struggled to lift his head, longing to know the reason for his resurgence.

When he looked towards the dazzling green tree in the distance and the towering figure of Angel, he was taken aback.

The emotion in his eyes was profound and complex.
