Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1521  Simple Recruitment~

”No need to bow like this, Iʼm not here for what you might think.” Seeing the still lowered head of the ancestor of the Zhang Clan, Xuan Hao quickly stepped forward and had him lift his head. Not wanting to leave a bad impression on someone who could potentially become part of the sect in the future.

”Not here for what I might think…?” Hearing what Xuan Hao said, the ancestor from the Zhang Clan could not help raising his head again with a still rather confused expression on his face.

After he found out about Xuan Haoʼs strength far surpassing his own to the point where he believed him to be someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm, his first thought was that either something precious had appeared in the vicinity of the city and he wanted help finding it or he wanted to find someone and wanted to make use of his clan to search.

Outside of that, he couldnʼt really think of any other reason someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm would show up.

Well… There was the reason that he might be here for revenge or something along that line, but if that was the case, he highly doubted that the other party would have bothered being polite with him. After all, he was only someone in the Earth Immortal Realm (Dao Seed Realm), while the person in front of him was very likely a Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator.

However, now that Xuan Hao directly told him that it wasnʼt the reason he was thinking about, he was forced to rethink the reason why he might be here-

Did the senior take an interest in one of the juniors and want to take them as a disciple? No… The younger generation shouldnʼt be talented enough to catch the interest of someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm, but then what is it? M-maybe he took an interest in that kind of way...?

And in the end, he ended up going in a rather strange direction that would almost certainly end up ruining any positive thoughts Xuan Hao had about the Zhang Clan at the moment…

”The reason Iʼm here is because Iʼm interested in the Zhao Clan itself. More precisely, I want to recruit the Zhao Clan.” Feeling the somewhat weird gaze that the old ancestor was starting to give him, Xuan Hao could not help interrupting whatever strange thought might be going through the old manʼs head at the moment. At the same time also informing him about his intentions for showing up. Not planning on wasting any time on small talk.

”Recruit the Zhao Clan? Wh-what do you mean…?” Showing a bit of a fearful expression after hearing what he said, the old man from the Zhao Clan was obviously thinking that he was talking about taking over the territory of the Zhao Clan and subjugating it in the process. The standard way of ʼrecruitingʼ people in the Eastern Central Region.

”What do I mean…? Iʼm interested in your Zhao Clan and want to have your entire clan join my sect. Of course, before that, I wanted to ask you as the ancestor of the Zhao Clan about this and see if itʼs possible. Ah, I already got a good look of your clan a few seconds ago when I looked through the estate with my divine sense. Hope you donʼt mind.”

”Huh? Join… Sect? Possible? Already looked through the estate…?”

”Yes, I already have a good understanding of your clan- Ah! Almost forgot, you still donʼt know anything about me or the sect Iʼm trying to get you to join…

Allow me to formally introduce myself, Iʼm Xuan Hao, an ancestor of the Star Shattering Sect. The Star Shattering Sect is not a sect from the Eastern Central Region, but a sect in the Northern Central Region, or, in fact, just the Northen Region.”

”Star Shattering Sect… I think I heard about it somewhere before- AH! The ancient hidden sect that emerged recently!” Hearing what Xuan Hao said and realizing where he was from, the old ancestor of the Zhang Clan could not help exclaiming loudly in surprise. Not having expected that the person standing before him to actually be someone from an ancient hidden sect.

Even more surprising was the fact that this person had directly asked him and his clan if they were willing to join said hidden sect.

If not for the fact that Xuan Haoʼs current cultivation was above his own, he would have thought it might have been someone who wanted to try and fool him or lure him into some kind of trap.

However, even with this, he still couldnʼt understand why an ancient hidden sect would want to recruit his clan.

After all, he knew very well that in front of an ancient hidden sect, his clan was nothing.

Not to mention an ancient hidden sect, even in front of a normal major power, his clan wasnʼt really considered that powerful and the only thing that might catch the attention of a major power when it came to his clan was himself.

But… If Xuan Hao was just interested in him, he wouldnʼt have mentioned recruiting his entire clan.

No matter how he thought about it, the ancestor of the Zhang Clan simply couldnʼt understand why an ancient hidden sect would want to recruit his clan.

However, given the status of an ancient hidden sect and the fact that he himself wanted to ensure the safety of his clan in the future after he passed away, he was more than willing to join the Star Shattering Sect. Especially given that the danger posed by the demonic cultivators was slowly creeping closer to the part of the Eastern Central Region where his clan was based.

Because of this, it did not end up taking much convincing for Xuan Hao to get the Zhao Clan Ancestor to join the Star Shattering Sect.

Of course, given the distance between the Star Shattering Sect and the Zhang Clan, it was not realistic to move the entire Zhang Clan to the Star Shattering Sect for now. Especially considering that the Zhang Clan would have to prepare if they wanted to take the foundation, they had established over the past thousands of years along with them- or at the very least what could be taken along with them

For this reason, Xuan Hao and the Zhang Clan Ancestor decided that the Zhang Clan would just slowly move towards the Star Shattering Sect for now. The main focus being on the younger generation of the Zhang Clan, as they would be the ones benefiting the most from being a part of an ancient hidden sect in the eyes of the old ancestor.

The process would take a few years to complete, but it would allow the Zhang Clan to complete the move safely, while also taking their foundation along with them.

At the same time, it would also allow the Zhang Clan Ancestor to confirm Xuan Haoʼs words and ensure that there was nothing wrong with anything he said in this time spent moving the Zhang Clan.

As for the reason why a ʼsmall clanʼ like the Zhang Clan would be recruited to become part of the Star Shattering Sect? Xuan Hao simply told him that the sect needed some people to manage things outside of the sect now that they had started to expand their influence and revealed themselves to the rest of the continent.

Although this wasnʼt considered normal for an ancient hidden sect, it wasnʼt too weird for an ancient hidden sect to randomly absorb a power to help them manage the situation outside of their sect for them.

For this reason, the Zhang Clan Ancestor was easily convinced and wholeheartedly believed that the Star Shattering Sect was an ancient hidden sect.

Of course, during the entire process, Xuan Hao never mentioned anything about the Star Shattering Sect being an ancient hidden sect and instead just allowed the old man to make up things on his own.

At the end of the day, Xuan Hao managed to accomplish what he wanted and after acknowledging the Zhang Clan as a part of the Star Shattering Sect, he immediately saw a change in main sect quest.

[Main Sect Quest: First Steps towards Becoming a Major Power (I)] [Description: The sect has entered a state of rapid growth and is about to finally step onto the main stage of the Ewaria Continent. Help the sect reach the requirements to become a major power on the Ewaria Continent.] [Core Formation Realm Disciples: 3239/10.000] [Nascent Soul Realm Disciples: 21/100] [Domain Lord Realm Disciples: 5/10] [Soul Ascension Realm Elders: 8/100] [Dao Seed Realm Elders: 2/10] [Profound Immortal Realm Ancestor: 0/1] [Reward: World Stone (Immortal), Chaotic Qi Formation Upgrade, ???] [Note: Does not count host as part of the requirements] Not only did the number of Core Formation Realm and Nascent Soul Realm Disciples increase. Showing just how strong the foundation of Zhang Clan was in the process, but the number of Soul Ascension Realm Elders also increased.

From the looks of it, the Soul Ascension Realm Elders of the Zhang Clan were already considered elders when they became a part of the sect, thus counting towards the progress of the main sect quest.

The Dao Seed Realm Elder increasing was simply because he directly gave the old ancestor the title of an elder when he agreed to join the sect.

Now, with the Zhang Clan already part of the Star Shattering Sect, Xuan Hao turned his attention towards the Qing Clan not too far away. Hoping that he could recruit them to become a part of the sect as well…
