Capítulo 1388: Chapter 508: The Enigmatic Cousin_3

Lin Yuzhen’s face turned red immediately, and she quickly explained: “This was brought from home by my sister, and she asked me to pass it on to her, it’s not mine.”

“Oh, I see.” Li Xiaotong shrugged, with a teasing tone in her voice, “Really don’t know what her family was thinking, sending such heavy stuff by hand instead of mailing it, making you carry it all the way here.”

Lin Yuzhen smiled awkwardly, did not argue, and just stood up silently, placing the bag on the chair.

At this moment, a steady sound of footsteps was heard.

A cool-looking boy walked over with a fruit plate, warmly greeting, “Come, come, ladies, have some fruit.”

“Alrighty, thanks, Brother Hao!” Li Xiaotong laughed and picked up a piece of apple, stuffing it into her mouth, “So sweet.”

Zhou Hao waved at Lin Yuzhen, who was standing there, “Zhenzhen, come over here.”

“Thank you, Brother Zhou Hao.” Lin Yuzhen took a slice of watermelon, taking a small bite, a bit shyly.

This time she lied to her family.

The so-called classmates from Yan City, actually it was a boy, Zhou Hao.

And both she and Li Xiaotong are from Shan Province, even roommates, they came to Yan City invited by Zhou Hao.

But the trip this time shocked her quite a bit.

Zhou Hao’s family lives in a high-class community in the city center, in a 150-square-meter large house, and they have a nanny.

Back in school, she felt he spent money quite lavishly, but never expected him to be so rich.

“Brother Hao, you did say you would show us the bustling nightlife of Yan City, I’ve been super excited for it.” Li Xiaotong said as she affectionately clung to Zhou Hao’s arm.

Zhou Hao smiled and patted her head, “Of course, tonight I’ll take you to the coolest bar in Yan City! I’ll ask a few local friends to bring you girls out for some fun!”

“Yay!” Li Xiaotong turned and patted Lin Yuzhen on the back, “Zhenzhen, you haven’t been to a bar, right? Do you dare to go?”

Lin Yuzhen pursed her lips and said defiantly, “What’s there to be afraid of?”

“Haha, by the way, besides buying a phone today, how about you get a nicer outfit too.” Li Xiaotong tugged at her hoodie, covering her mouth and laughed, “You’re dressed so plainly, entering a bar you might become the ‘center of attention’, haha.”

At this, Lin Yuzhen felt a bit uncomfortable inside.

Li Xiaotong was actually not a bad person, just somewhat of a “snob”.

Because of the family background gap, Li Xiaotong was close to her but also a bit patronizing, often hinting at her “rustic” look in a teasing manner.

Recalling this, Lin Yuzhen glanced enviously at Li Xiaotong’s outfit.

Prada jacket, belly-revealing top, slim-fit jeans, limited edition sneakers.

Looked stylish and sexy.

Her own family condition was very average, with a college living allowance of just over 1000, which was quite ordinary among classmates.

Compared to a well-off family like Li Xiaotong’s, the gap was apparent.

“There’s nothing wrong with being plain, I think Zhenzhen looks just great as she is, of course, Xiaotong is also very pretty.”

Zhou Hao habitually played the role of a peacemaker, easing the atmosphere.

The three of them either sat or stood, eating the fruit platter and chatting.

“Ring ring ring——” the phone rang.

Lin Yuzhen glanced at the caller ID, answered the call, “Hello, Xue, where are you?”

“Oh, just come to the North Gate, it’s closer.”

“Mm, alright, bye-bye.”

After hanging up, Lin Yuzhen smiled apologetically at her two classmates, “I forgot to tell you, besides delivering the stuff, my sister also wants to join us shopping.”

Zhou Hao shrugged and cheerfully said, “Sure, no problem! Oh right, Zhenzhen, your phone broke on the way to my house, so let me give you one later.”

“No, no need.” Lin Yuzhen shook her head quickly, blushing slightly.

Li Xiaotong’s eyes sparkled as she covered her mouth and chuckled, “Zhenzhen, I heard you say your sister is pretty successful now, right? Why not let her gift you a phone, didn’t you always want that newly released iPhone 15 Pro?”

Lin Yuzhen was taken aback, feeling awkward, “That… wouldn’t be appropriate.”

She had heard from her uncle before that after graduation, her cousin Xue didn’t become a flight attendant but worked in models or media.

Girls at her age tend to have some vanity, wanting to impress classmates.

On the way to Yan City, when Li Xiaotong and Zhou Hao asked about her cousin, she instinctively embellished a bit.

Said she was “a leader at a company.”

As for the true situation, she wasn’t really aware.

After all, her uncle’s family hadn’t been in contact with Lin Muxue for almost two years.

Li Xiaotong continued to coax, “What’s inappropriate? As a sister, looking after her sibling is only right.”

Zhou Hao clapped his hands and laughed, “Alright, let’s head downstairs first.”

Chatting and laughing, the three of them walked out of Zhou Hao’s house, took the elevator straight to the B2 parking lot.

“Come on, get in!” Zhou Hao stuck one hand in his pocket, opened a BMW car door with the other.

Li Xiaotong exaggeratedly exclaimed, “BMW X5, wow Brother Hao, really impressive!”

“Haha, it’s my dad’s.” Zhou Hao chuckled, pointing to a Tesla Model Y next to it, “That car is my mom’s; they’re on holiday abroad, so I can use the cars as I please.”

“Nowadays electric cars are all the rage, my family is also planning to buy one, how about letting me test drive it sometime?”

“Sure, tomorrow when we go out, I’ll drive the Tesla, and you can drive it then.”

“Thanks, Brother Hao, then I won’t be polite with you.”

Listening to their conversation, Lin Yuzhen’s heart surged with a mix of emotions.
