Chapter 1353: Chapter 499: The Fear of Being Dominated by Jing! (2)

Soon, all employees’ corporate emails received a message from the Human Resources Department.

”Notice on the Adjustment of the Company’s Board of Directors and Future Development Plans”

”Dear colleagues: After review by the recent shareholders’ meeting, the company’s board of directors has been reorganized. The new board will continue to adhere to...”

The announcement did not mention the exit of He Jingping’s family or any other specific personnel arrangements.

But rumors spread within the company at an unprecedented speed.

And this was just the beginning.

Soon, all senior management received separate notices to attend a closed-door meeting at 1 p.m. in the large conference room.

Immediately after, middle management (workshop supervisors, department managers) received more detailed written notices and were instructed to convey the relevant information within their teams to ensure the new board’s policies were smoothly implemented.

...

The time was approaching two in the afternoon.

Chang’an District, Xucheng Property Headquarters, 3rd Floor.

Shen Yuyan wore a well-tailored business suit, walking calmly, looking capable and elegant.

Beside her, Li Meixia carried a thick briefcase, looking focused, slightly nervous.

”Please wait here for a moment, Manager Gao is currently in a meeting.”

The front desk administrator politely invited the two of them into the reception room.

”Thank you.” Shen Yuyan nodded with a smile, lightly smoothing her skirt with her left hand, and sat down gracefully.

Watching the receptionist leave, the two sat quietly in their chairs, chatting casually while observing their surroundings.

They waited for nearly half an hour.

Li Meixia frowned slightly, worriedly saying, ”Yuyan, we had an appointment to meet at two and sign the contract, why is Manager Gao suddenly in a meeting? Could there be some changes?”

Shen Yuyan confidently replied, ”Don’t worry, the framework agreement has been signed, with Xucheng Property’s reputation, they won’t go back on their word.”

The reason for her confidence was the sincerity shown during their interactions.

Not only had Manager Gao of the Purchasing Department been involved, but even one of their vice presidents had personally met with them for several meetings.

The offered cooperation terms were also very generous.

Li Meixia nodded, sitting up straight, saying no more.

At this moment, the door to the reception room was suddenly pushed open, and a tall, robust figure walked in.

A man in his 40s, his face covered with acne scars, his skin slightly dark.

Shen Yuyan instantly flashed a bright smile, elegantly standing up, ”Hello, Manager Gao!”

The three exchanged a few pleasantries and sat down in the chairs.

”Manager Gao, we have prepared the contract, you can have your company’s legal department review it.” Shen Yuyan’s voice was confident yet polite, gesturing to Li Meixia.

Soon, a stack of formal contracts was placed on the coffee table.

But Gao Zhixue did not look at them, instead, he looked up at the attractive and elegant Shen Yuyan across from him, a polite smile forming on his lips: ”President Shen, you’ve worked hard. I trust your contracts, but...”

He deliberately paused, his tone becoming deep, ”After our internal discussions, the situation has changed somewhat.”

Shen Yuyan felt her heart sink, but she maintained her composure on the surface, ”Manager Gao, if there are any specific issues, we can further discuss adjustments. Youjie Housekeeping values this cooperation greatly and has come with full sincerity.”

Gao Zhixue nodded, seeming to agree with her statement, but his tone quickly shifted: ”I understand your dedication, but our audit team has raised some concerns about your company’s financial statements. To our knowledge, your financial situation isn’t ideal.”

Shen Yuyan tried to keep her voice steady: ”Manager Gao, we have a VAM Agreement with Angel Investment Institution, as long as performance targets are met, the funds will be credited smoothly next month. Please rest assured about this.”

Gao Zhixue waved his hand, speaking with a gentle yet conclusive tone, ”President Shen, I believe in your capability, but ultimately this is a decision from the higher-ups. They wish for a partner with greater stability, so we cannot proceed with the signing process at this moment.”

Li Meixia’s face changed drastically, she couldn’t help but speak urgently: ”But last Friday, didn’t we already sign the framework agreement?”

Gao Zhixue smiled faintly, his expression indifferent: ”A framework agreement only indicates the intention of both parties to cooperate, it does not carry legal effect. Besides, the decisions then were based on preliminary assessments; now that the audit results are out, we must reconsider.”

His words were well-mannered, yet Shen Yuyan detected something different in them, her eyes trembled violently.

Shen Yuyan restrained her inner anger, tentatively asking, ”Manager Gao, if the funding is secured, can we immediately restart the signing process?”

Gao Zhixue smiled: ”Of course, my suggestion is for you to take our framework contract and have a discussion with the angel investor, see if the investment can be secured first.”

Shen Yuyan gritted her teeth, her gaze somber, ”Alright! Thank you, Manager Gao!”

”Alright then, I have some other matters to attend to, you can contact them now and we’ll confirm the procedural details.” Gao Zhixue stood up, glanced once more at Shen Yuyan, and strode out.

”Bang——” The door to the reception room was closed.

Li Meixia said urgently, ”What should we do, Yuyan? If we can’t secure this client, we won’t be able to fulfill the VAM Agreement, isn’t this a deadlock?”

Shen Yuyan’s face was as dark as water, ”I’ll make a call.”

With that, she picked up her phone and dialed Ren Mingyuan’s number directly: ”Hello? President Ren, is it convenient to talk now?”
