Chapter 1185: Chapter 455: The Flashpoint (Part 4)

Yao Lingling bit her lip and said sincerely, ”Thank you, Sister Wen Ran.”

All she wanted now was to go inside first, and then find a company leader to ask about the situation.

Wen Ran turned to a girl next to her and said, ”Dandan, make a call to the person in charge and explain the situation.”

”Alright, President Wen!” Wang Dandan responded, picked up her phone, dialed a number, and whispered a few words.

After a moment, she put down the phone and said softly, ”They’ll be here right away.”

”Alright.” Wen Ran nodded gently, holding Yao Lingling’s hand, she said, ”I thought today would be boring, but having you here is a surprise, let’s go inside and chat more.”

Yao Lingling took a deep breath and said gratefully, ”Thank you, Sister Wen Ran! Sorry to trouble you.”

She knew Wen Ran was someone impressive, especially since before at Lanfeng International Hotel, she had once bumped into her with Director Yang from QJ Law Firm.

But she hadn’t expected Wen Ran to have such influence.

”Oh come on, are you really going to be this polite with me?”

At that moment, a man about 50 years old walked over briskly.

He first glanced at Wang Dandan and then approached Wen Ran, smiling broadly, ”Hello, President Wen, I’m the Manager of the Reception Department, Li Wenzi.”

”Hello, Manager Li.” Wen Ran nodded, pulled Yao Lingling’s arm and said, ”This is my friend, please take care of her.”

”You’re being too polite.” Li Wenzi walked directly to the turnstile, took a card out of his pocket, opened the gate, and warmly gestured, ”Please, all of you.”

Wen Ran thanked him, and walked inside with the still-stunned Yao Lingling.

Liang Jiani’s mocking smile gradually froze on her face, feeling as if she was dreaming.

Are they kidding? A single phone call to make the Reception Department manager come over to open the door?

Even their Chairman Xiao Liguo doesn’t have such privilege.

Who exactly is she? How could Yao Lingling know someone like her?

Seeing Wen Ran walk by, Liang Jiani quickly lowered her head, her body trembled slightly.

After their figures disappeared.

Liang Jiani hurriedly took out her phone and informed Wen Qiuyue about Yao Lingling going inside.

...

After passing through a long corridor, the view suddenly opened up.

Nearly two thousand square meters of the conference center, spacious and grand.

A magnificent and solemn big stage, rows of orderly tables and chairs, graceful red ribbons, colorful LED screens, dazzling lights...

At a glance, it was full of visual impact and atmosphere.

The two walked inside for a while, Wen Ran patted Yao Lingling’s back, ”Lingling, do you want to sit with me?”

”No, Sister Wen Ran.” Yao Lingling shook her head and said, ”I’ll go find a company leader and ask about my invitation letter.”

Seeing Yao Lingling’s absent-mindedness, Wen Ran didn’t say much and nodded lightly, ”Go ahead.”

”Thank you, Sister Wen Ran.” Yao Lingling bent slightly, her gaze sweeping over the venue, searching for the familiar faces of her colleagues.

Soon she spotted Xiao Mingxuan, although at the moment he was standing next to Chairman Xiao Liguo, chatting with a group of people.

Those people clearly seemed important, she even saw the Chairman of Jiaxin Group, Wen Zhenhua, who is Wen Qiuyue’s father.

Yao Lingling bit her lip, deciding not to approach, after all, they were all major leaders.

Soon after, she noticed the company’s Design Director Peng Xinlei, alongside some of her colleagues.

Yao Lingling let out a long breath and quickly headed in Peng Xinlei’s direction.

At that moment, her phone suddenly vibrated in her pocket.

Yao Lingling took out her phone to check.

[Li Shumin]

Answering the call, Yao Lingling softly said, ”Hello, Minmin, what’s wrong?”

Soon after, she heard Li Shumin’s panicked voice through the earpiece, ”Lingling, HR just called me, saying... saying I’ve been laid off.”

”What?” Yao Lingling’s footsteps came to an abrupt halt, her voice carrying disbelief, ”Why? Our Business Department just established, and we’re actively recruiting, why are they suddenly laying off people?”

”I don’t know, my mind is a mess right now.” Li Shumin’s voice was slightly trembling, carrying a hint of sobbing.

Yao Lingling bit her lip, and softly consoled, ”Don’t worry, I’ll ask President Xiao later and see what’s going on.”

”Please ask for me, President Xiao even mentioned a raise for me a few days ago...” Li Shumin’s voice was full of grievance.

”Okay, wait for my update.” Yao Lingling hung up, feeling heavy-hearted.

Based on her understanding of Xiao Mingxuan, the matter is likely unknown to him, meaning it was a decision made directly by company leadership.

Although Qimeng is nominally a Business Department, it’s just starting out, many aspects are not yet independent.

For instance, personnel, finance, etc., are still under the Shangya system.

Being able to bypass Xiao Mingxuan and lay off employees, it’s likely a decision made by executives at least at the Vice Presidential level.

Combined with her invitation letter suddenly becoming invalid, Yao Lingling felt a foreboding premonition.

Just then, her phone rang again.

[HR Director - Sun Rong]

Yao Lingling’s hand suddenly clenched tightly, she answered the call and softly said, ”Hello? President Sun?”

”Hello, Lingling, here’s the thing, there’s something I need to notify you about.” Sun Rong’s voice was calm and serious.

”Please go ahead.” Yao Lingling took a deep breath.

”You’ve been promoted to Senior Designer for nearly three months now, and based on the company’s comprehensive evaluation, I’m sorry, you didn’t pass the probation period. Your position will be reverted to Assistant Designer, the leadership’s intention is to reassign you to the Design Department.”

Yao Lingling’s mind went ”boom,” her complexion instantly turned pale.

Anyone Sun Rong would refer to as ”leadership” would likely only be the Chairman, President Xiao Liguo.

”But don’t lose heart, keep up the effort, there’ll be many opportunities in the future...”

In the earpiece, Sun Rong’s voice continued.

In front of Yao Lingling’s eyes, suddenly appeared a pair of dazzling red high-heeled shoes.

She slowly lifted her head, and saw Wen Qiuyue dressed in a stylish dress.

Eye contact occurred, and a wisp of disdain appeared on Wen Qiuyue’s face.
