Chapter 1042: Chapter 418: Soft Candy, Hard Candy, Milk Candy_3

Previously, she had also heard some colleagues speaking ill of her behind her back.

However, Cheng Qiuyu didn’t take it too much to heart.

She was indeed not very good at handling interpersonal relationships, her emotional intelligence wasn’t high, she didn’t know how to say things for appearances, and usually appeared a bit indifferent.

She would unknowingly offend some classmates back in school.

But she was 100% serious about her work, and her performance had always been good, so she didn’t expect to be excluded from the project team.

Inspiration Design is a standard internet company that uses a project team mechanism.

Performance and year-end bonuses are all tied to the projects completed this year.

Glimmer Coffee completed its financing and will be working closely with the company next to fully develop its branding.

This is the company’s biggest design order for the second half of the year.

Correspondingly, the project team’s status has also risen.

As long as this case succeeds, the team members can get a substantial bonus at the end of the year.

Cheng Qiuyu cherished this opportunity very much, had already worked overtime for a week voluntarily, and even completed the first draft of the design yesterday.

Of course, besides all this, there was another reason she was unwilling to face.

That was Tang Song.

Previously, she had been liaising with him for website and mini-program designs.

She had planned to send him the initial draft today and discuss the upcoming development liaison.

Unexpectedly, things turned out like this.

“Ding-dong——” The WeChat notification sounded.

[President Li: “Qiuyu, come to my office for a bit, I need to talk to you.”]

Cheng Qiuyu bit her lip, stood up, and walked toward the office.

“Knock knock knock——”

“Come in.”

Opening the office door, Li Jingzhong, sitting on the chair, gestured with his hand: “Sit down, Qiuyu.”

Cheng Qiuyu nodded and sat down on the stool opposite, her eyes lowered, expressionless.

“It’s like this, I have to go on a business trip to Rong City next week to meet a big client.” Li Jingzhong looked at her beautiful face and said with a smile, “I know your home is in Rong City, so I thought of asking you to come along, how about it?”

Hearing his words, Cheng Qiuyu lifted her head, shook it gently, and said, “Sorry, President Li, I can’t leave home lately due to some matters.”

Li Jingzhong raised an eyebrow and continued, “Think about it seriously, this client is very important, if we can secure them smoothly, I can recommend you to become a project manager, which will be beneficial for your career development.”

“No need!” Cheng Qiuyu suddenly stood up, bowed, and said, “I’m sorry, President Li, I have to leave now for something else.”

After speaking, Cheng Qiuyu turned and walked out quickly.

She didn’t return to her workstation but went straight out the company door, hiding alone in a quiet stairwell.

Compared to school, the workplace seemed particularly harsh and cold.

The exclusion by colleagues and harassment by the leaders left her physically and mentally exhausted.

She felt she wasn’t suited for the workplace, she didn’t know what to do, nor where her future lay.

Her friend Lingling was a full-fledged designer at a large clothing design company, earning over ten thousand yuan a month, and many of her designed clothes were selling well.

Her close senior sister succeeded in her startup and was already a shareholder and vice president of the company.

Needless to say about her friend Tang Song, not only was he a major shareholder of Songmei Clothing, but he was also very capable and wealthy.

Cheng Qiuyu felt terribly like a failure, becoming increasingly distant from them.

Just then.

“Buzz buzz buzz——” The phone in her pocket suddenly started vibrating.

Cheng Qiuyu took out her phone, glanced at it, and quickly answered the call.

“Hello, senior sister.”

“Qiuyu, is it convenient to talk now?”

“Yes, I’m not at the company right now.” Cheng Qiuyu licked her somewhat dry lips, trying to make her voice sound normal.

“It’s like this, our company plans to create its own women’s clothing brand and will next form a design team to deepen brand awareness. From then on, all brand operations under He Yiyi will be handled by a dedicated team, so… our side jobs will be gone. The elements you designed before should also undergo major changes to better fit the brand style.”

Hearing the senior sister’s words, Cheng Qiuyu’s heart wrenched, tears unknowingly trickling down.

It wasn’t because of the money, but she didn’t know exactly why.

It just felt so painful, so painful.

She sniffed, her voice low, “I understand, senior sister, it’s a good thing, I wish you all the best.”

“What’s wrong, Qiuyu?” Gao Mengting sharply sensed something was wrong with her, “Did something happen?”

Cheng Qiuyu wiped away the tears on her face and said softly, “No, I’m just facing some small issues at work, it’s nothing.”

“Alright, then let’s talk about the main business now.”

“Uh… what matter?”

Gao Mengting chuckled and said softly, “I just mentioned we want to build our own design team. I wonder if the dear designer Qiuyu is interested in joining? Don’t say senior sister didn’t take care of you; I’m offering you a direct managerial position with excellent compensation, definitely much higher than Inspiration Design.”

“Ah?!” Cheng Qiuyu suddenly stood up from the steps, a bit nervous, “This… this… senior sister, are you not joking?”

“Of course not, how about it? Interested in switching jobs? Currently, Songmei Clothing is no worse than Inspiration Design.”

Cheng Qiuyu’s hands trembled, and a great joy surged in her heart, “Senior sister, I’m just afraid of letting you down.”

“You won’t, strictly speaking, you’re also part of our startup team. Although it’s just part-time, our boss and colleagues are all very satisfied with your design. I’ve discussed this matter with our President Tang in advance, and he has a very good impression of you too.”
