Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2334 Eighteenth Strike

”Twenty-one heavenly lightning swords, each with the prowess of the peak of Level Two Immortal Stage...”

Evelynnʼs eyes shook, her fists clenched as her lips quivered, ”How can one face a tribulation like this!? Do the heavens not have eyes!?”

*Rumble!~*

The dark clouds roared in anger, but with Evelynn outside the heavenly tribulation zone, it was unable to do anything. It was unknown if it would do anything to an unrelated person. Nonetheless, its rumbling could be heard throughout the region, causing Davisʼs brows to squint into tiny slits.

There was the danger that someone could notice an immortal tribulation transpiring this prolonged, but it was the least of his concern at this moment.

The way he saw it, Nadiaʼs life was at stake. She was exhausted in the soul while her bodyʼs capacity was unknown. To extinguish twenty-one heavenly lightning swords, including the heavenly lightning dragon that could be said to be the very first strike before the twenty-one heavenly lightning swords, she had expended a significant amount of energy and stamina.

An area of effect attack was useless against them, or else Nadia wouldʼve already unleashed such an attack since she specialized in slaughter due to her nature. She had to release concentrated offense or else the heavenly lightning swords would destroy her, but each of the heavenly lightning swords was practically their own entity and had Nadia dash around in order to match them.

Nadiaʼs speed was matchless. Dodging the heavenly lightning swords by rushing past them was the only way to avoid them. However, how many could she dodge as she took care of the other heavenly lightning swords? Her focus was spent, and her mental state was at an all-time low.

She was one of the very few magical beasts who could also use her soul, but even that wasnʼt enough in this immortal tribulation, causing Davis to be immensely angered at the heavens. He wanted to forsake everything and step inside to save her, but logic told him that if he stepped inside, then Nadia, including him, would turn to dust.

If even Nadiaʼs immortal tribulation was this difficult, he could only imagine the one he was going to face, giving him unbelievable shivers, and yet, he still wanted to barge in to save her.

”Nadia, donʼt give up!”

Davis shouted atop his lungs, causing Nadia to turn to look at him before she widely smiled.

”Donʼt worry, master. This immortal tribulation is easy peasy~”

”…”

For a moment, Davis couldnʼt reply, wondering where she had learned these cute words. Was it Fiora? Nonetheless, her words couldnʼt help but have a calming effect on him, surprisingly making him see more clearly as he looked at her confident body posture as well as the gaze in her gleaming eyes.

ʼThis… her gaze… sheʼs waiting for the eighteenth strike…?ʼ

He quickly realized that she was saving as much energy as she could to battle against the last tribulation strike and so would have to save up and use her energy up to the precisely needed limit as possible, causing her to additionally use more focus.

ʼSo thatʼs why she is tired...ʼ

Davisʼs expression turned optimistic. He was glad that he taught her strategic warfare during their spars. Combined with her battle instincts, she was definitely a genius in assassination and bombardment, but he didnʼt expect her to be a genius in frontal assault as well.

It was no wonder she took down the twenty-one heavenly lightning swords without having a single scratch on her beautiful dark purple fur.

*Rumble!~*

The sea of heavenly lightning amalgamated in droves, turning into a heavenly lightning sword, and as soon as it plunged, it turned into seven swords as they crashed down on Nadia.

Countless motes of dark light abruptly emerged from Nadia. They gave off a deathly air as a pitch-black fog spread from them, and each of these dark motes was interconnected to Nadiaʼs pitch-black horn, forming a star diagram.

ʼRepulsive Deathfall Stream~ʼ

Her dark wings flapped, sending an intense wave of death energy upwards when the seven heavenly lightning swords crashed down.

The heavenly lightning swords pierced through the cloud of death, causing Davis and the others to narrow their brows. However, the heavenly lightning swords didnʼt seem to reach Nadia but had completely disappeared within, silently and eerily, as though they had never existed before.

*Rumble!~*

The dark tribulation clouds were already preparing for the seventeenth strike as a sea of heavenly lightning gathered underneath.

Nadia remained still. She didnʼt do anything as the star diagram still appeared to be glowing from her pitch-black horn. Exactly three seconds later, eight heavenly lightning swords pierced through the dark clouds.

The pitch-black curtain was like a dome of death, not giving entry to any, and if something forcefully entered, it extinguished into a lifeless state as though it didnʼt deserve to exist.

It had Evelynn and Eldia completely speechless as Davis was in awe over Nadiaʼs species technique. He knew that this was definitely a species technique itʼs prowess had reached seven levels higher! Moreover, he had never seen this species technique before, so he felt that this must be a species technique from her current bloodline, the Nether Springs Death Wolf.

For the death energy to possess extreme defensive prowess- no, walking into it was completely a death trap that he couldnʼt help but want to learn.

However, the time came.

*Rumble!!!~*

Underneath the dark tribulation clouds, there was an eighteen-meter tall lightning dragon. Its big eyes viewed them with innate arrogance that could shatter a personʼs will with just a look. But the thing was, it didnʼt look at Davis nor Eldia. It completely had its eyes on Nadia and the dome of death that was hiding her.

*Boom!~*

Without wasting time, it shot down, bringing with it an extraordinary destructive might that had Davisʼs heart skipping a beat, making him wonder if he could withstand it without his chaotic body as it had reached seven levels higher!

”Aooo!~*

The heavenly lightning dragon roared and abruptly changed directions. Instead of piercing through the dome of death, it circumvented as it went around it!

The technique truly lived up to its techniqueʼs name, the Repulsive Deathfall Stream, to even cause a heavenly lightning dragon to avoid it!

However, with the heavenly lightning dragon dodging like that, everyoneʼs expression changed.

Nadia was casting this current technique at the moment, and if so, wasnʼt she vulnerable at the moment!?

As they expected, the heavenly lightning dragon evaded the dome of death and circled around to appear in her line of sight. But contrary to their further predictions, Nadiaʼs wolf lips curved into a mocking smile. She flew above and actually retreated into the dome of death.

”…”

The heavenly lightning dragon seemed to have suddenly stopped for a moment, its sharp eyes flickering with rage as though it was highly provoked.

*Aooo!~*

A huge pressure descended on the area as it roared out loud, shooting towards the dome of death as though it no longer cared.

But the moment it pierced through the dark veil, its heavenly lightning body began disintegrating. Its body was chipped layer by layer. More than chipping, it was as though it was peeled off. Each instance it stayed inside the dome of death would lead to its demise.

However, it quickly reached Nadia, slashing its heavenly claws at her.

*Puchi!~*

Nadiaʼs right wing became torn off as blood spurted from her but simultaneously, her three tails slammed into the heavenly lightning dragon, causing it to roar in pain.

*Boom!~*

The explosion of its heavenly lightning might cause the star diagram to shatter and the Repulsive Deathfall Stream to collapse!

Nadia spat out a mouthful of blood. Her purple-golden eyes flashed in response, knowing that the culmination of Repulsive Deathfall Stream and her tail slam filled with death energy using Amber Fur Nourishment wasnʼt enough to defeat this dragon with a dense egotistic will.

A pitch-black light shone in her eyes as they gathered onto her horn, churning into an unseen, concentrated mass of the deathly sphere. The moment it appeared, it disappeared.

The next thing Nadia saw, the heavenly lightning dragon started to disintegrate from its head all the way to its tail.

Her immortal tribulationʼs eighteenth strike was defeated, but Nadia abruptly lost her balance and plunged to the surface.

*Whoosh!~*

But before she could lose altitude, a black-robed figure appeared and caught her.

Nadia lightly smiled at Davis, her aura abruptly beginning to change, causing Davis to let go as he gained some distance. He looked towards the location where the heavenly lightning dragon disintegrated and saw that even its remnant would didnʼt remain.

For it to have received a swift death that he could not even have the chance to absorb, he could only imagine how strong Nadiaʼs soul attack was and if he was not wrong, it was the species technique she often used as a Dark-Winged Twilight Wolf called the Dark Soul Destruction.

Now that she had become an Emperor-Tier Nether Springs Death Wolf, that concentrated soul attackʼs prowess became deadlier than ever before!
