Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2333 Three Mutations

*Boom!~*

Just as Davis and the others were apprehensive for Nadia, the eleventh strike fell.

It didnʼt look like a serpent anymore. Instead, it transformed into two heavenly swords falling like dual Damocles as they rushed straight towards Nadia. The heavenly lightning blades crackled with extreme pressure while Nadiaʼs eyes churned with shock.

These were two attacks on the same level as the tenth strike!

”Hmph!~”

Nadia harrumphed, her death energy surging behind her tail as she struck them.

*Rip!~*

Two tails slammed against a heavenly lightning sword, and another tail severed the other heavenly lightning sword. However, the latter survived, piercing through her forehead.

”…!”

Davis and the others became alarmed. However, the heavenly lightning sword was unable to pierce through her head. Instead, her pitch-black horn practically shattered the heavenly lightning sword. The will of the heavens was unable to remain against her deathly will.

”How strong…!”

They couldnʼt believe Nadiaʼs bodily prowess at this moment, capable of withstanding a might that was essentially at the peak of Level Two Immortal Stage.

Seeing this scene, Davis instantly couldnʼt help but possess a hint of doubt, pondering if the increase in her body prowess had something to do with one of her past bloodlines.

The Amber Fur Nourishment Technique Nadia used, Davis had never seen that before. However, he could tell that her fur had transformed into something harder than metal at Level Two Immortal Stage by absorbing the rays of the sunset.

Was this a technique related to her Sunset Mountain Wolf Bloodline?

Nadia was originally a Sunset Mountain Wolf and mutated from it, turning into a Twin-Tailed Dusk Wolf, Dark-Winged Twilight Wolf, and all the way up to this terrifying being which is known as the Nether Springs Death Wolf. However, each mutation didnʼt cause her to lose the traits of her previous bloodline but intricately added to her subsequent bloodlines, allowing her to use all those techniques.

Even then, he hadnʼt seen her use this technique before. Heck, she even had a name for it?

Davis couldnʼt help but wonder if this was a species technique. However, the species technique the Sunset Mountain Wolf Species used was ridiculous and almost useless in battle, which was to make the beings around it cry. However, if this was another species technique of the Sunset Mountain Wolf Species, then…

ʼIt is said that Emperor-Tier Magical Beasts have two or more species techniques that they could use… could it be…?ʼ

Davisʼs sapphire pupils shook.

If that was the case, then Nadia was essentially a multiple mutated Emperor-Tier being who possessed eight or more Species Techniques of four species belonging to the Sunset Mountain Wolf, Twin-Tailed Dusk Wolf, Dark-Winged Twilight Wolf, and the Nether Springs Death Wolf!

Was this the reason that the heavenly tribulation was extra mad at her and not because her bloodline shouldnʼt exist, or did it find Fallen Heavenʼs presence in its changes?

ʼAre the multiple mutations the reason for inviting a Destructive Heavenly Tribulation…?ʼ

Davis finally felt like he had found a possible answer to his question. His karmic burden could infect them, but thatʼs different than receiving a Destructive Heavenly Tribulation. The latter had to do with the individual, not with whom they interacted. Therefore, it was not possible for someone to receive a Destructive Heavenly Tribulation just for being close to him.

Arriving at this conclusion, Davis inwardly sighed, thinking that all his loved ones wouldnʼt have to face a Destructive Heavenly Tribulation. He could help them as he was fond of them, but how could he implicate them as their man?

Such a future didnʼt sit well with him.

*Boom!~*

The twelfth tribulation strike plunged, and that terrifying bolt of concentrated heavenly lightning split into three!

Nadia leaped and struck the three heavenly lightning swords with her three dark tails.

The heavenly lightning swords didnʼt shatter, and just when everyone thought it would strike her body, her wings became enveloped in death energy as she shot past them while slashing through the heavenly lightning sword in the center, coming out of it in one piece.

She recognized that these three attacks had the same prowess as the ninth strike but didnʼt have the overbearing will that the heavenly lightning dragon possessed. Her eyes that were curved into a pair of crescents became normal, understanding how her immortal tribulation worked.

”So the prowess didnʼt increase, but the number of times she is hit in a single strike keeps increasing one by one?” Evelynn couldnʼt help but ask Davis for his input, causing him to nod.

”I think so. However, Iʼm afraid that Nadia wouldnʼt have enough energy to defend against them all...”

Indeed, Nadia had already spent over fifty percent of her energy in both body and soul at this point since each one of her attacks was concentrated to the extreme to bring out a prowess capable of being six levels higher.

In particular, the Amber Fur Nourishment Species Technique of an Emperor-Tier Sunset Mountain Wolf took twenty percent of her body energy but allowed her body to become almost invulnerable to the heavenly lightning strikes.

However, Nadia didnʼt become complacent as she knew that there was a time limit for this technique. But the time limit didnʼt matter to her as a heavenly tribulation would well be over in a minute, even if it were eighteen strikes. What mattered was the capacity of its strengthening that could hold up against the attacks of the heavenly lightning swords.

If the technique ran out of juice to defend, it would naturally become undone, leaving her vulnerable, and even a single heavenly lightning sword could severely wound her.

To recast again is not possible in a short time as it was a species technique, coming with a cooldown period.

*Bang!~*

The thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth strikes fell, each countered by Nadia, even though the number of heavenly lightning swords only kept increasing by one every time it plunged. The sixteenth strike, in particular, had six heavenly lightning swords that almost got through Nadiaʼs defenses, but she successfully extinguished them.

However, Davisʼs expression was somber because…

Nadia was already panting, her lungs swelling and contracting as she took deep breaths. He was afraid that she was already nearing her limit.
