Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1209 No Lightning Elemental In The Inner Region?

Davis mounted Nadia as they headed deep into the Dark Thunder Island. He felt bad for leaving Sophie out there, but he felt that this was the best way to maximize efficiency. While Starcy grew from devouring the massive fire energy present within the Crystallized Flame Bead, Sophie would begin to comprehend from the source, practically comprehending Fire Laws from Starcy at the moment of her breakthroughs.

Thatʼs when the resonance of heaven and earth energy would be strong, and if Sophie managed to grasp it, she would enter a deep meditative state and come to possess a chance at easily comprehending the next level. That was the difference between having a Will-less Spirit Attribute Source and a Spirit Attribute Source with a Will.

It made up for a ton of difference!

”Now, if only I luckily met an Emperor Grade Lightning Elemental, how good would it be?” Davis loudly mused as if asking Nadia.

”Everything in this world is masterʼs!”

Davis became taken aback by Nadiaʼs reply before he laughed, ”Hahaha! You really think that way? Makes me happy to hear that...”

As Nadia smoothly flew through the air as she flapped her thirty-meter long, spanning dark wings and stepped on mid-air as ripples of darkness flowed, they finally reached the inner region in a mere five minutes. Davis saw many yin-attributed, dark-attributed, lightning-attributed magical beasts along with a few resources like natural ingredients at the Earth Grade, but all of that made him uninterested.

The magical beasts themselves feared Nadiaʼs terrifying undulations, so they didnʼt try to near them either.

It was a smooth journey for Davis and Nadia as they arrived at the inner regionʼs periphery. Here, the grey fog became thicker as it began to obstruct their view a bit, but it posed no threat to the both of them as it wasnʼt able to forcefully enter their pores or enter through their nasal cavity or other orifices as they disintegrate upon meeting with impenetrable flesh.

Davis searched around for a while as they progressed, even going as far as to use soul sense in a hundred-meter radius. Still, he was unable to sense an Emperor Grade Lightning Elemental anywhere in this grey fog, much less spot one. The black extinction lightning that fell on his soul sense with a destructive will was impeded by his soul.

It actually held against the extinction lightning as if it had resistance against it, and Davis wondered if it was because of the tempering he had received when absorbing those two Lightning Elemental with the extinction property.

In fact, he didnʼt wonder but felt that was the case. His soul had probably gained resistance towards these black extinction lightning.

ʼNo wonder I was able to endure against so many lightning bolts without my soul feeling a thing... Well, that makes sense, and most likely, in regards to an Emperor Grade Lightning Elemental, I would only be able to meet one within the core region or at the very end of the inner region...ʼ

Davis mused as he decided on something.

However, his brows narrowed as he suddenly spotted a sparkling ingredient on top of a peak, seemingly protected by a magical beast.

”Nadia, you think you can-”

”Scram!!!” Nadiaʼs voice bellowed as waves and waves of dark energy was emitted by her voice.

The Peak-Level Lord Beast Stage occupying the territory and protecting the resource for its own use had its fur turn into spikes as it stood on end in fear. The next moment, even without turning to look at Nadia, it ran away with its tail between its legs at hundred and twenty percent speed, each step leaving behind a trail of scorched marks on the hilltop.

Davis saw the leopard-like lightning-attributed magical beast retreat without a fight as he smiled at Nadiaʼs understanding of him. It was like she knew what he was going to do before he even fully instructed her.

Could it be that even his intent was being fed to her because of the magical beast taming pact?

He mused before he glanced at the sparkling ingredient as Nadia took him to its location. Davis dismounted her before he moved to stand in front of it. The herb appeared to be crystal-shaped, appearing like a prism as it reflected sparkling strands of lightning.

”Prismatic Lightning Arc Herb... A Peak-Level King Grade Ingredient thatʼs useful for oneʼs soul in various ways. To think I would find it in this place where the level of extinction lightning is high...”

Davis shook his head as he bent down to collect it. He harvested it before returning to mount above Nadia.

He didnʼt know about this herb from his alchemy knowledge he learned, but from a few of the Pill Recipes, he had from Old Man Garvin. Supposedly, one of the Pill Recipe it is used in makes a user of the Supreme Soul Stage enter a strange state where they come to comprehend more about the comprehension of the soul as they resonate with the heaven and earth energy.

Coincidentally, he already had the other main ingredient required to create this pill, making him doubt his luck again. This Pill Recipe was one of the few rare ones requiring a less amount of ingredients, just two main ingredients, but both were Peak-Level King Grade Ingredients.

The other main ingredient was the Great Sky Orchid he received as a gift from the Alstreim Family elites. They sure did have some good stuff but was unable to use it or know its significance due to their ignorance. Even he wouldnʼt have been interested in the Prismatic Lightning Arc Herb if it werenʼt the case.

Davis had received so many ingredients as gifts from that time.

The Ivy Redwood Silk, Tempestuous Mist Flower Shard, Great Sky Orchid, Cherry Mantled Lingzhi, Evergreen Tide Dark-Stone, Jade Thorn Bamboo, and Disguised Golden Leaf. All of these ingredients were at Peak-Level King Grade, not to mention that there were tens of lower-level ones.

He had planned on using all these for his alchemy training, but never did he have the chance to work on it due to certain constraints. Additionally, the danger he felt also made him think twice about concentrating on supplementary professions.

Nevertheless, as for the secondary ingredients, out of the four, he lacked only one, and it was a Low-Level King Grade Herb. But luck would have it that he precisely saw that on his way here. He smiled as he returned back to the place with Nadia before managing to collect it.

”Oh well, might as well pick up some goodies at King Grade as I search for an Emperor Grade Lightning Elemental.” Davis snickered as he continued his search.

As for concocting the pill, he planned to do it a bit later after trying his unending luck.

”Wait, isnʼt that the Ebbing Cedar Lightning Wood...? It is! Itʼs mine!”

”Okay... why do I sense my soul sense being impeded a little...? Heck, isnʼt that supposed to be Soul Impeding Thunder Stone!? This should be useful to suppress all soul sense below Supreme Soul Stage!”

”Nadia, we searched for seven hours already... We collected so many ingredients at King Grade, but we have yet to encounter a single Lightning Elemental. This is just too much...”

Davis poured out his worries as he simply lay on her, burrowing her face in her fur coat over her neck. He was truly beginning to think that his luck was so good rather than bad, so why was he unable to meet one single Lightning Elemental then?

He felt that it was fine even if he met a single Earth Grade Lightning Elemental, even if it was not useful to him, but he did not meet a single one even though he felt like he had almost mapped out the entire inner region.

”Master...”

Nadiaʼs voice resounded.

Davis heard it, and he was about to respond when he noticed her strange tone. He raised his head, and his eyes widened as he saw a lightning ball dance through the air in the distance. It appeared like a globular bolt, making the air near it tremble from the pure force as it swayed in the air.

Its crackling lightning made a tune as if it was melancholically dancing in this island before leaving towards another obscured space.

It was just a brief glimpse amidst the grey fog, but Davis didnʼt miss it with the help of Nadiaʼs timely warning. His wide eyes trembled as his lips turned into a wide smile!

ʼJackpot!!! Thatʼs a Mid-Level Emperor Grade Lightning Elemental!!!ʼ Davis inwardly screamed in excitement as he almost jumped when he sensed its strength.

Moreover, its lightning body was pitch black in color, indicating that it was probably the evolution of Derelict Extinction Lightning or some similar Lightning Elemental! All he knew was that it was surely extinction lightning as he found it to be familiar!

”Quick, Nadia! Follow it!” Davis urged.

However, the next second, he became taken aback.

He knew that Nadia wouldnʼt waste a second as she always moved before he finished his words, understanding his intent. But, instead of advancing, he felt like she had moved backward. It was almost as if she was retreating.

”Nadia...?”

”Danger...!” Nadia slowly retreated as she growled, her fangs exposed for whatever there was outside amidst the grey fog to see.

Davis narrowed his eyes as his heart tightened. For Nadia to feel danger, the unknown must be extremely powerful. He kept his senses wide open for a while before he suddenly managed to catch a glimpse of a humanoid-shaped silhouette.

The silhouette looked as if it was carrying another humanoid-shaped silhouette, followed by another humanoid-shaped silhouette as they floated in the air.

ʼMagical Beasts...?ʼ

Davis confusingly mused as he saw them briefly come out of the grey fog, but abruptly, it appeared as if they, all three of them, were traveling on a tiny flying boat as they headed in the same direction the Mid-Level Emperor Grade Lightning Elemental left towards.

At that moment, their facial features became visible.

A handsome man with viridian eyes and long hair stood on the pier holding a black-haired woman in his arms, looking as if she was asleep. Behind them was a charming woman with the same viridian eyes and long hair as the man, but contrary to him, she did not have long furry ears and a viridian tail. Al three of them seemed to wear the same green robes.

Davis remained silent, but both the man and the woman who was awake on the flying boat cast a look at him when suddenly an incredible pressure landed on him and Nadia, locking them in place while Davisʼs eyes went wide in shock as his scalp turned numb!

ʼTwo Ninth Stage Powerhouses!!!?ʼ
