Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1207 Dark Thunder Island

Darkness enshrouded the place as the surface of the sea appeared pitch-black. Lightning fell from the skies as they struck the waters and land. However, these bolts of lightning seemed to be shining black as they struck the land with an unending might, leaving a blackish-scorched mark every time they grazed the air and the land.

The land seemed to be enshrouded in a kind of grey fog, making oneʼs path unclear.

Davis, Nadia, and Sophie finally reached the Dark Thunder Island. He stood on the flying boatʼs deck as he sensed the familiar might that belonged to Lightning Laws, the energy of extinction lightning!

He raised his hand and drew a symbol above him. It abruptly glowed, causing the dark clouds above to react!

*Rumble!~*

Thunder resounded, and black lightning flashed as a dozen bolts landed on Davis as it struck him!

*Boom!~*

*Boom!~*

*Boom!~*

Black lightning kept striking him into oblivion amidst Sophie and Nadiaʼs dumbfounded gaze. Looking at Davis not doing anything but receiving the black lightning strikes with his body as arcs of black lightning swelled around him, they felt a momentary chill as Sophie began to scream in worry.

”What are you doing!? Defend!...?”

She shouted, but only after a second later did she realize that he was instead experiencing the ʼblack lightningʼ as he appeared carefree and unharmed under their continuous barrage.

”Oh...” She pursed her lips as she felt stupid for a moment, realizing that he had used that so-called Spirit Formation: Lightning Rain to attract these lightning bolts so that he can start comprehending Lightning Laws.

However, there was no need to start this soon, right? They havenʼt even disembarked out of their flying boat yet.

Davis spread his hands as he welcomed the black lightning into his body as it struck him without a stop. The moment those black lightning bolts fell on his head, shoulders, and other places on his body, it tried to invade his pores and meridians, but it was quickly withheld and stopped by his own essence energy from doing damage to his body.

He dared to do something like this because these black lightning bolts were just at the sixth stage, easier for him to keep it under control and to obstruct it from causing damage to his body. In fact, even seventh stage lightning would fail to cause much damage unless it was at peak-level because of his Martial Master Stage Cultivation.

Nevertheless, for beginners like him, this was just perfect.

He took a deep breath as he began to comprehend while basked in these numerous bolts of black lightning. The moment he came here, he became assured that this environment filled with black lightning would definitely help his comprehension improve by leaps and bounds.

From Level Four Intent to Level Five Intent.

Even just staying here made him feel that he was going to breakthrough in a few weeks or within a month as comprehension welled up within him, so when he decided to instantly use the opportunity, he didnʼt hesitate and drew a Spirit Formation above him to attract the black bolts of extinction lightning!

When the first extinction lightning hit him, he instantly curbed its berserk energy and began to feel what the ʼextinctionʼ was with his own body as his comprehension began to resonate with heaven and earth. Obliterating the rampaging will of the heaven and earthʼs lightning energy that attacked him, a wisp of lightning energy was left, which he brought to his dantian from the meridian pathways and began to perceive its inscrutability.

His comprehension of ʼextinctionʼ began to swell as numerous black lightning continued to strike his body. The thundershower that fell on him seemed unending, and unless the Spirit Formation: Lightning Rain faded away, the raining black lightning wouldnʼt stop at all.

Moreover, these kinds of energy wisps refined from these berserk lightning bolts also helped his Essence Gathering Cultivation increase, causing him to smile in satisfaction.

Looking at Davisʼs smile, Sophieʼs lips twitched.

Others would stay clear of these lightning bolts, especially the extinction lightning, as destroying it would take more energy than the norm. However, Davis did exactly the opposite. She could understand basking in lightning to comprehend as long as it was one or a few bolts, but to take this many at once seemed nothing more than suicidal.

Nevertheless...

ʼDavis couldnʼt be measured by my current common sense...ʼ She kept telling that to herself.

The flying boat came to a stop at the edge of the Dark Thunder Island. They hadnʼt even entered and was just floating by the shore while Davis entered a comprehension state. They stayed like that for half an hour. Hundreds and thousands of lightning bolt fell on Davis before his eyes shot wide open as the Spirit Formation above his head faded away.

The heaven and earth energy resonated along with him as essence energy surged out of him before rumbling into arcs of black lightning that seemed immensely powerful and deadly!

”Level Five Intent...” Davisʼs smile left his face as he took a deep breath once again.

It could be said that any remnant comprehension of Lightning Laws Davis had from the Derelict Extinction Lighting was completely incorporated into his understanding, making him comprehend Level Five Intent!

The Derelict Extinction Lightning was a Low-Level King Grade Lightning Elemental, and by all right, it shouldʼve granted him comprehension till Level Seven Intent. However, it didnʼt, mostly because he had exterminated its Will and forcefully absorbed it.

When he had absorbed it, it allowed him to comprehend Level Three Intent and Level Four Intent. His starting point was low, so the maximum he could comprehend and gain from it was also low. If he was at Level Five Intent when he absorbed it, he couldʼve at least reached Level Six Intent, but now, with reaching Level Five Intent, the remnant comprehension was fully digested.

Of course, if its Will were alive like Starcyʼs, the Derelict Extinction Lightning would still aid him, but it had already died, making it so that he could not actively comprehend Lightning Laws from it, making it so that he could only rely on what he perceived at the time of absorption. That is why Sophie became unable to hold herself back and asked Davis to give the Purple Star Flame to her.

The way Starcy was now, she would help Sophie reach Level Seven Intent without fail in a few years.

Nonetheless, Davisʼs essence energy capacity was reduced to twenty percent from enduring all those black extinction lightning with his bare body. In fact, it was reduced to twenty percent when the lightning bolts that hit him were about eight thousand, and after that, he relied on his bodyʼs natural defense and martial energy to curb the berserk will of the black lightning bolts.

Otherwise, he wouldʼve been fried to a crisp. Thatʼs why many others couldnʼt use this method because their Body Tempering Cultivation wouldnʼt be extraordinary compared to their Essence Gathering Cultivation. As far as Davis knew, they werenʼt like him or Isabella or Evelynn.

Davis stared at Sophie as his lips moved, ”Luckily, the time it took for me to refine and improve the Crystallized Flame Bead was the same as the time you took to reach the Dark Thunder Island.”

He threw a crimson bead to Sophie, which she caught with her palm. She glanced at it and saw that it possessed immense fire energy engraved by numerous patterns. It was already at the Mid-Level Emperor Grade, making her heart rapidly beat in turmoil.

The resource in her hand was extremely rare, so rare that she understood that it would sell for more than a few million Peak-Level Spirit Stones. Such a thing was given to her without any hesitation. There was a huge ripple in her heart, but abruptly, there was a ripple in her dantian as well.

”Master! What is this!? It smells tasty! I want it!” A string of passionate words fell on her soul, causing her lips to reveal a smirk.

Starcy seemed to be eager to devour the flames from the Crystallized Flame Bead, while Sophie was reassured that this resource would allow her to feed Starcy till she becomes a Low-Level Emperor Grade Flame Essence.

It would be a direct increase in stage, and all she had to do was feed her for a few months at best! Sophie became incredibly excited as she flew towards Davis and wrapped her arms around his neck, tightly embracing him as she stayed like that for a while. The emotions she felt couldnʼt be described as it rocked her heart greatly, knowing that it would be fine even if she died unfortunately while being struck by a bolt of stray lightning.

Her satisfaction was high that she couldnʼt help but imagine!

Davis smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist, thinking of taking a few advantages as he caressed her soft waist.

He had refined the blood essence of one Mid-Level and three High-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Apes to improve the Crystallized Flame Bead to the low quality of Mid-Level Emperor Grade. The second time he refined the blood essence, he found that it became easier to condense blood essence because his proficiency was increasing, and he knew what to do and how to proceed for the subsequent refinements, causing the time needed to drastically lessen.

Nevertheless, he still knew that refining those two Peak-Level King Beast Stage Carcasses was practically impossible unless he entered the King Soul Stage or improved his soul prowess. He had felt killing himself when he refined the three High-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Ape Carcasses. It was that difficult for him to expend his soul force, causing him to become exhausted before he recovered it by refining soul essences again.

He continued this cycle four times before he managed to improve the Crystallized Flame Bead.

At the same time, his gaze fell on Nadia.

During this time, Nadia had eaten the remaining High-Level King Beast Stage Scorched-Crystal Crimson Ape Carcasses. Her aura was no longer at the Mid-Level King Beast Stage but at the High-Level King Beast Stage! Just by devouring that much meat, she had stepped into the High-Level King Beast Stage without facing any problem.
