The Noble Lady of Lust

Chapter 86: The Pain of Being Rejected

”Okay, calm down. Before you go crazy, look at the clauses. There’s nothing wrong. Look, I don’t want to say you don’t have options, but let’s see: blessing of the evil God, leaking information, causing terrorism, attempted murder of the one blessed by the God of light...hum, I don’t know, I’d read the contract if I were you.”

”...You know, you are someone hateful. You’re nothing like the rumors.”

”....”

I let go of her neck slowly as I handed her the contract. It was a contract that, at the very least, for the next two years she wouldn’t be in contact with demons and wouldn’t betray me or talk anything about me. Umm, come to think of it:

”Wait, give me a moment.”

I took it from him and wrote a new clause. Now yes, it was simple and straightforward. With the new clause, I had to stay close to Chris and keep an eye on him. That included the two years, so he would have to work hard to be in Class A.

But seeing her stats, it wouldn’t be a problem for her. I wanted to keep a close eye on her and between Christ and Seraphina , I thought that Christ was a better option, to keep her close since as Christ I have more freedom of movement and I could see if she is still hiding something, which she hasn’t told me. I still don’t know what kind of person she is, so she is still under examination.

And the possibility of joining my harem... honestly, I don’t know what approach to take. In the end, I’d just be asking for trouble, I mean, from experience (Eira) I know what a siscon is capable of, so it’s simply a favor I did for a friend from a previous life or future friend.

She looked quizzically at the new clause, but in the end didn’t ask anything, as it didn’t seem anything out of the ordinary.

So she signed. Besides, there were clauses in her favor, such as not saying what I intended to do, having the protection of my family and other beneficial things.

She didn’t even ask me how I had prepared such a specific contract, with clauses like not disclosing the assassination attempt, or information about his blessing. Maybe because I told him before that I was the one asking the questions.

”Well, that’s it. Nice working with you, Aurora,” I extended my hand in a handshake to which she reciprocated. But as I did so and felt her soft hands, I was actually uncomfortable with her masculine appearance.

Unconsciously, without any hint of my central will....si, if it was not on purpose....it definitely was not.... I initiated a complicated process while concentrating the energy of my blessing.

I purified his hand, eliminating any impurity, poison or harmful thing.

’Come to think of it, the demons could have put something like this without her noticing’, so without any hesitation I went and freed her of anything affecting...., that would come to affect her disguise and blessing, it’s not my fault. ’ It’s not because I wanted to see her real face or anything. ’

”...” I was speechless, when the costume fell apart.

’Ohhhh... fuck, she’s a beauty! Max, or, rather, brother-in-law, forgive me and my alternate self for doubting you. Your words weren’t enough to express you.’

”he-hey, do you want to join my harem?”

unintentionally that was the first thing that came out of my mouth. It was my most primal and primordial desire at that moment.

She looked at me quizzically, not knowing what to respond, but then realized that her blessing had stopped working.

She panicked, covering herself again with her masculine appearance, which was neither handsome nor striking. The only similarity they shared was the black of her hair and the gold of her eyes.

”What did you do?”

”Well, I also have the inherited blessing of the goddess of purity. It’s the one that runs in my family. Well, I inadvertently interfered with your blessing. Don’t worry about that. But you wouldn’t join my harem of beautiful girls?...you get a free pass,”

I said it. Appearances aren’t everything, but honestly, but when it gets to such a high point, you can be someone with a big heart, ignoring everything else.

Her beauty was even above my own, and that’s saying a lot, vain as it sounds.

And it’s not because her ability hit me or anything, since I should be immune too. That’s how beautiful she was, and I realized how lethal she could be.

She even made me propose right away, but in the end....

”I’m sorry, but... I like men, as you can see I’m a woman.”

”Bullshit! ...I told you I know when you lie.”

”....” realizing that her attempt to reject me came out, badly she remained silent and hesitating, until she finally spoke, without looking me in the eyes.

”The truth is, you scare me and I can’t think of you that way...I think I’m going to have nightmares about you.”

”Ughhh!!...”

I felt the pain of rejection. I did not think that the tragedy of my previous life would be repeated with someone with whom my alternative self thought I had a good chance, but by the fact that he had already died.

But hey, I was running out of time, so in the end I let the matter drop. Her rejection is only conditional; I haven’t given up yet, she’s just a little shocked.

”W-well, I’m going out. Release the fog spell in the room. After 10 seconds, remember the clauses of the contract. You have to report to me every week on the situation. got it?”

I had to pretend I’m not Christian, so as soon as I left the small room, I quickly changed my appearance with Metamorphosis and pretended to be lost in the fog like the rest.

As for why Seraphina appeared out of nowhere in this place, I left that to her imagination.

The rest of the guys were starting to get desperate, even though it had been barely a minute.

I stopped Eira, who seemed to have lost her patience and was about to cast a spell, which happened to be aimed at William.

He had saved William from his second assassination attempt, which this time might actually happen. ’’That short fuse bitch can’t calm down. Look at Silvia, who’s eyes are closed and sitting still.’

Finally, Aurora left the room and began to undo the spell, until everyone could see. I held Eira’s hand and prevented her murder attempt.

”aaah!?., what happened? Let go of me, you fucking pervert.”

”Hey, you idiot, why would you cast an attack spell instead of a dispel spell or something? Are you even dumb? What if you hit someone, like Selene or me?”

”....” At my scolding, she was silent. He couldn’t seem to argue that point with me. Still, after a moment, he spoke again.

”Damn... okay, my bad, but who the hell used that spell, I’m going to kill him!”

”Th-this... it was my fault, I’m sorry.”

”Eh?” At that moment, all of us, who barely understood what was going on, stared in shock at the sudden figure that had just appeared from the next room. Or at least, that’s the face I faked.

”So it was you, you bastard. Do you know what you almost provoked?”

”Hey, hold still. You were the crazy one who was going to cast an attack skill.”

Eira, like the crazy beast she is, was going to attack Aurora, but I stopped her and passed it to Selene to restrain her. I took a step forward.

”Ehem, excuse that girl. Well, could you explain what’s going on here?”

”ahh!!!... I’m sorry. The truth is I didn’t know this room was used and I was practicing a fog spell. I’m sorry for my carelessness you got caught,”

she said, bowing and apologizing to us. she certainly is a good liar, and the rest immediately nodded in understanding. Even Eira relaxed, and William, as always, stepped forward.

”Well, this room is in common use. It was our fault for assuming it was free, but you forgot to hang the sign outside. You have to do that so no one will interrupt you.”

”Y-yes, I’ll keep that in mind. Oh!...., but,,,, are you class A? Ah, wait, I haven’t introduced myself. My name is Auran, and I’m in class B. Oh, actually, you’re Eirlys, right? We’re classmates. I’ve never talked to you, but you’re so pretty, I’ll never forget you.”

’Hey, what are you doing flirting with my future harem member, you bastard? Wait, if she’s a woman, she makes it more or less dangerous. Hmm... For her tastes she should be dangerous, but, uhmm.’

I was suddenly in a dilemma but I realized I was overthinking it, whatever. They’ll both eventually enter my harem, so I thought positively.

On the other hand, she is surprisingly communicative.

So much so that, unbeknownst to me at some point in their conversation, it even got to a point where, he was asking me along with William’s support if I could join the lessons.

I know I myself asked him to approach me, but I didn’t think it was that decisive. In the end, I agreed. The lessons now started with two new members.
