Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 244: The Pretend Couple

After purchasing their items, the mother and son duo made their way downstairs together.

With shared discussions and decisions, the number of things they bought had unconsciously increased.

Upon hearing Liu Yiru mention that they might stay in the mountains during their trip to Changbai Mountain, Ye Fei quickly bought a thick, insulated tent.

And when Ye Fei expressed his desire to often enjoy food made by her hands, Liu Yiru, without hesitation, purchased a set of rechargeable kitchen utensils.

In this manner, they even bought items that they were unlikely to use.

Ye Fei made several trips back and forth to load all the purchases into the car that Liu Yiru had driven.

Liu Yiru was initially puzzled. Ye Fei, who had clearly lost all his strength and returned to his former weakness, seemed surprisingly relaxed while moving these items.

However, she quickly found a good reason for her son: although he had lost his powers, his body was still much stronger than before.

”Yes, that must be it!” Liu Yiru told herself. She didnʼt realize why she was so easily convinced by this rather far-fetched explanation.

Perhaps it was because she was looking forward to this journey with just the two of them and didnʼt want to miss out on anything.

Back home, Ye Fei was busy unloading the items from the car, as he needed to sort through them.

In the heat of the moment at the mall, he had bought far more than they could carry tomorrow.

Now, he could only select the essentials to bring along.

Watching Ye Fei bustling about, a sweet smile appeared on Liu Yiruʼs lips. She suddenly felt that this trip wasnʼt about finding Bingling Grass at all, but rather preparing for a honeymoon.

Startled by this thought, Liu Yiru quickly tried to stop herself, but a charming blush still spread across her face.

That evening, Ye Fei didnʼt trouble Liu Yiru further, and Liu Yiru, knowing they would depart the next day, temporarily set aside all her worries and allowed herself to rest well.

When she woke up the next morning, Liu Yiruʼs spirit had returned to its former fullness, indicating a good nightʼs sleep.

However, seeing Ye Feiʼs face, which was noticeably more dull than the day before, her heart ached again, and she silently reaffirmed her determination to continue ”treating” her son.

Given the number of items they had and the inconvenience of checking them in, coupled with Liu Yiruʼs concern that Ye Fei might have an accident on the road, she decided to drive.

With her abilities, she could focus and drive non-stop for a full day and night without feeling tired.

The plan to head to Changbai Mountain had been communicated to all their relatives the night before, so the mother and son didnʼt delay any further.

After breakfast, they set off. It was only a little after six in the morning, the time when traffic was at its lightest.

Soon, their car exited Wanghai City from the north and merged onto the highway.

Sitting in the car, Ye Fei curiously observed the scenery along the highway. His curiosity was genuine.

Growing up, he had only briefly left Wanghai City during missions or his previous trip to Linhai.

At those times, he had been preoccupied and hadnʼt paid much attention to the surroundings. This trip was a novel experience for him.

After all, despite his capabilities, Ye Fei was still, at heart, a sixteen-year-old boy.

Gazing at the magnificent landscapes outside the window, Ye Fei felt a surge of ambition.

One day, he would conquer all of this, not for any other reason but for the women he loved.

He wanted to create a completely safe space for them, where they could soar freely and without worries.

At that moment, Liu Yiru, who was driving, happened to turn her head. She was puzzled.

Normally, Ye Fei was very talkative when he was with her.

Why was he so quiet now? She wanted to see what he was doing and caught sight of his confident and resolute expression. It had to be said that when a man, especially an already handsome one, exuded confidence, his charm was simply astonishing.

Liu Yiru was also struck by this uniquely masculine allure. Her heart skipped a beat, and she suddenly felt an urge to throw herself into his arms, inevitably recalling the unexpected intimacy from the previous day.

The passionate memories caused Liu Yiruʼs stunning face to blush, and she could distinctly feel a sensation growing within her, with a slight dampness below.

”Itʼs not my fault!” she justified in her mind.

”I didnʼt mean to think about it. Itʼs just that the experience yesterday was too unforgettable and captivating!” Not daring to continue, she focused intently on driving.

By evening, Ye Fei and Liu Yiru had covered half the journey and stopped in a relatively obscure small city, checking into a rather upscale hotel.

Neither of them were particularly extravagant, but since they had the means, why not indulge a bit?

During the registration process, they used the aliases Ye Man and Liu Ru instead of their real names. Their fame in Wanghai City was too great, and using their real names risked being recognized.

Changing their names solved this issue. Under Liu Fengyiʼs protection, Ye Feiʼs photo had never been widely circulated.

As for Liu Yiru, her picture had only been in the media when she took over the Liu Group a decade ago.

Ten years had passed, and most people likely wouldnʼt remember her.

Even if someone noticed a resemblance to the Liu Yiru from back then, who would believe that a decade had not only left no mark on her face but had actually made her look younger and more beautiful?

Since this was a reputable hotel, Ye Fei and Liu Yiru felt comfortable leaving their belongings in the trunk of their car.

After collecting their room keys and familiarizing themselves with their rooms, they decided to head back downstairs.

After all, they had come out to enjoy the local scenery.

However, upon exiting the hotel, they found themselves a bit at a loss. They knew nothing about this place.

Although this didnʼt prevent them from exploring, having a plan would have been better.

Reluctantly, Liu Yiru returned to the hotel and negotiated with the manager to find a tour guide for them. Then, she and Ye Fei sat aside to wait.

It didnʼt take long before a plain-looking but evidently honest girl, guided by the hotel manager, approached them and politely asked, ”Excuse me, are you the ones looking for a tour guide?”

This girl was clearly the tour guide the hotel manager had found based on Liu Yiruʼs request.

Liu Yiru had specified that the guide should be honest and not too attractive. She herself didnʼt know why she had added this last requirement but had even tipped the manager handsomely for it.

”Yes,” Ye Fei stood up and smiled.

”Iʼm Ye Man, and this is my girlfriend, Liu Ru. May I ask your surname, miss?”

Liu Yiru had never expected Ye Fei to introduce her as his girlfriend in front of others. Her face turned red again, but she didnʼt object.

The tour guide didnʼt seem to notice anything amiss.
