New Age Of Summoners

Chapter 918: Poisoned Boulder

Even though the conversation between Edmond and Udo might seem a little heated; however, it was their regular conversation.

Moreover, after their conversation, their earlier self-blame and all other negative emotions disappeared into thin air.

…..

While Edmond and Udo were having their usual conversation with one another in the cave, outside the cave, the Quickthunder mercenary squad members and Ajax were moving in closer to the cave.

ʼCaptain Berk, are you sure they are hidden inside this cave?ʼ

One of the squad members asked the captain with a worried expression.

The captain of the Quickthunder mercenary squad is Berk and he always thinks a lot about improving his cultivation and getting more cultivation.

ʼDo you think I have the ability to see through stone walls or what? We need to confirm it was them in the cave before going back to inform the royal family about it.ʼ

Captain Berk whispered back at the squad member with a face full of annoyance.

ʼBut Captain Berk, what will happen if we alert Captain Edmond and Udo in the process?ʼ

According to what the squad members knew, their captain was weaker than Captain Edmond and as for them, there should not be any comparison.

So, if they alert Captain Edmond, they very well knew that there would be no next birthday for them.

ʼIdiots.ʼ

Looking at the faces of his squad members, Captain Berk became irritated and annoyed a lot because his own squad members were not believing him that he could fight Captain Edmond on equal terms.

ʼDonʼt worry. I have this. As long as I see Captain Edmond, I am going to use it to capture him. At that time, our reward will also increase by manyfold.ʼ

Looking at his squad members, Captain Berk took out a red-coloured talisman from his space ring as he showed it to his squad members.

ʼHuh?ʼ

Ajax and all the squad members looked at the red-coloured talisman in Captain Berkʼs hands and raised their brows because they had never seen it.

Moreover, they didnʼt have much knowledge in Talisman-making.

ʼAppraiseʼ

However, it was not a problem for Ajax as he had the ability to appraise any item within legend grade.

ʼDing,

Item name:- Senses sealing talisman.

Effect:- As long as it is used on the target, he or she will not move for the next 24 hours. Basically, all his senses will be sealed for 24 hours.

Limitations:- It only works on the cultivators below King realm.

More information:- The talisman was found by Captain Berk in an old inheritance ground.

ʼHoly heavensʼ

Ajax was surprised when he saw the information about the talisman in Captain Berkʼs hand because he knew that as long as Captain Berk uses that talisman, Captain Edmond would not win.

ʼI will not say much about it but all you need to know is that this talisman is enough to take care of that so-called Captain Edmond.ʼ

Captain Berk scoffed at his squad members as he continued to say in the same whispering manner, ʼI have saved it for years and I am hoping to get a good reward from the royal family.ʼ

Captain Berk was keeping the talisman with him for many years; however, currently, his cultivation was not progressing much and he needed a good cultivation resource to make a break through.

Moreover, it was said that Edmond had many trump cards, Captain Berk felt he had to use a trump card of his own to go against Captain Edmond.

ʼSo, everyone, be careful. I donʼt want anything to go wrong today.ʼ

After saying those words, Captain Berk slowly reached the boulder blocking the entrance of the cave.

ʼMove away from a little.ʼ

He said those words to his squad members and he didnʼt wait for them to move away before he used a punch to break the boulder into pieces.

ʼAarghʼ

As soon as the boulder broke into pieces, two of the Quickthunder mercenary squad members fell to the ground as they started groaning.

ʼAarghʼ

ʼAarghhʼ

With time, their groans became louder before leaving their last breath.

ʼWhat the hell? How did they die?ʼ

All the Quickthunder mercenary squad members were shocked to see that two of their own died right in front of their eyes without knowing how.

Even though they saw the injuries from the rock shards from destroying the boulder on those two squad members, they were very sure that their fellow squad members didnʼt die because of those rock shards.

ʼHoly heck! If my senses were not upgraded by the demonization, I would have died just like them.ʼ

As for Ajax, when he thought about it, his forehead was covered in a cold sweat because he dodged a couple of small rocks.

ʼDamn it...I should have expected it.ʼ

However, Captain Berk became furious when he thought of how his squad members must have died.

ʼThat entire boulder was poisoned with something. You better donʼt touch those rock shards if you want to live.ʼ

Soon, Captain Berk controlled his emotions as he explained the reason behind the death of his squad member.

ʼWhat? Poisoned?ʼ

All the squad members were shocked as they never heard that someone would poison a boulder.

ʼAs expected of Captain Edmond. Always cautious and careful.ʼ

Unlike them, Ajax silently thought to himself as he continued thinking, ʼI wonder how many more traps are placed by Captain Edmond and Uncle Udo. I have to be careful; otherwise, it is no use staying alive until now.ʼ

When that thought came to his mind, Ajax thought to be careful from here onwards while entering the cave.

ʼCaptain Berk, I think there would be more traps. What do you think we should do?ʼ

One of the squad members silently transmitted his voice to Captain Berk.

Even though the Quickthunder mercenary squad members were not very intelligent, they were not fools either. So, they were able to guess there would be more hidden traps in the cave.

ʼWhy are you worried about the traps? We already have someone to test them, right?ʼ
