I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 1066, Capture Them Alive

“Shaman, should we arrest all of them? There’s no way to keep up the act any longer,” Yan Jiao asked.

The Chieftain had rushed to the Yong’an Building the moment he learnt that the Dark Scorpion Tribe’s people were advancing towards the Flame Dragon Tribe.

“Yes, I’m afraid there’s no way to keep up the performance this time. Though it has bought us an additional snow season’s worth of time.” Su Bai furrowed his brow and gave a slow nod. “Once they reach the Tribe’s entrance, have people ready to bring them all down.”

He understood that their purpose in coming this time was simply to collect goods, but the Tribe had developed to such a degree that there was simply no way to keep concealing it from them any longer.

In particular, two of the group had visited before and would immediately see that the Flame Dragon Tribe had become something entirely different.

It would be impossible for Ga and Gai alone to have developed the Tribe to this state. They would spot the anomaly at once.

The reason Su Bai said these people had bought the Flame Dragon Tribe an additional snow season was simple: by capturing them now, they had no means of sending word back.

By the time the Dark Scorpion Tribe noticed something was wrong, the snow season would already be upon them.

If they then tried to send people to deal with the Flame Dragon Tribe, they would have to wait until both the snow season and the eternal night had passed.

“Understood. Leave this matter to me.” Yan Jiao responded with unusual gravity.

“Ga will cooperate with you. Who is leading the group that has come this time?” Su Bai asked.

When Cheng Shi had come to report that the Dark Scorpion Tribe’s people were approaching, Su Bai had already sent him to fetch Ga.

He then had the scorpion girl accompany Cheng Shi into the forest to assess the situation. He needed to know exactly who had come this time.

As the saying goes: ‘know yourself and know your enemy, and you need not fear the outcome of a hundred battles’. He had to ascertain their capabilities.

“The one leading them this time is Gang Guo. The decision they’ve made was an extremely wise one. That man possesses an exceptionally sharp eye for detail. Nothing escapes him. Ga furrowed her brow and continued, “The Dark Scorpion Tribe’s Shaman must have sensed that something was off and dispatched Gang Guo specifically. Given the current state of our Tribe, there is no way to conceal anything from him.”

“How strong is this Gang Guo? What are our chances of capturing him?” Su Bai pressed.

“Besides Ga, both Sha Hong and Ye Jiu must also take part in this capture operation. And then we still need Ban Ye, Shu Feng, and myself.” Yan Jiao spoke with careful deliberation.

“You’ve selected these particular people. In other words, you have a specific plan in mind?” Su Bai continued.

He wanted to verify the thinking behind the Chieftain’s choices. It could not simply be a matter of picking names at random.

“Ga has said their group includes two Mid-Stage Totem Warriors, and our Tribe currently only has four. Qing Yan has escorted Hu Shi to another Tribe, which means every remaining Mid-Stage Totem Warrior in the Tribe must be deployed.”

Yan Jiao reviewed the list he had just given. “Ye Jiu is renowned for her speed. She can intervene in an instant if anyone attempts to make a move. Shu Feng can provide aerial cover and reconnaissance.”

The Chieftain analysed the situation with thorough care, anxious that no detail would be left wanting. Though Yan Jiao was uncertain why the Shaman asked these questions, he laid out the full extent of his strategic thinking.

“Good. Every aspect has been arranged well. Attack, defence, and observation have all been covered. Carry out the capture operation exactly as you have outlined.” Su Bai gave a deeply satisfied nod.

Yan Jiao’s planning could not have been more complete. The man was proving himself a genuinely capable strategist.

“Thank you for the praise, Shaman. I’ll go and assemble the team at once.” Yan Jiao straightened up, careful not to let pride show on his face. But inwardly, he was bursting with joy, his chest puffed out so fully that his posture resembled a soldier standing in salute.

“Take as many Shaman Bone Tablets as you need. Do not think about conserving them. Post Archery Teams and manual rifle squads in the surrounding area as a precaution.”

Su Bai’s dark eyes blinked with quiet intensity. “For those ordinary enemies, it doesn’t matter if they die. But I want the two Mid-Stage Totem Warriors alive.”

“The two Mid-Stage Totem Warriors alive? It’s a bit of a challenge, but it will be done.” Yan Jiao made no effort to conceal what he was thinking.

Indeed, simply incapacitating normal Totem Warriors would not pose much difficulty. But capturing Mid-Stage Totem Warriors alive was another matter entirely.

“Good.” Su Bai gave a single nod.

Having heard Ga’s account of this particular Totem Warrior, he found himself genuinely intrigued by the man.

He thought to himself, if the Flame Dragon Tribe could have someone with such penetrating insight, it would be of tremendous benefit to the Tribe.

“Apart from Gang Guo, there is one more Mid-Stage Totem Warrior called Tang. Both of them are truly formidable.” Ga’s delicate green eyes shifted slightly. “However, judging by our Tribe’s weapons and personnel, the odds are firmly in our favour.”

“That is exactly the answer I need. You know them better than anyone, so you must take part in this mission as well. That is how we ensure nothing is left to chance.” Su Bai gave the instruction with care.

He had already used his newly acquired Skill, the Lie Detection Skill, on Ga sometime earlier.

He had found that Ga’s loyalty to the Flame Dragon Tribe was absolute, one hundred percent, and only then had he set his mind at ease.

Otherwise, he would never allow Ga to participate in this mission. A single shout from her at the Tribe’s entrance and the Dark Scorpion Tribe’s people would immediately scatter.

“Yes, I will fully cooperate with the Chieftain to bring this group down.” Ga gave a solemn and earnest nod.

Since joining the Flame Dragon Tribe, there had in truth still been unstable elements within her heart.

But as the days of her stay grew longer and she encountered more and more people, with her food, clothing, shelter, and daily life all proving to be more than satisfactory; Ga had come to witness the strength of the Flame Dragon Tribe. She too saw the strength of Su Bai himself. She had willingly become a member of the Flame Dragon Tribe.

And she had made a silent vow to serve this Tribe with everything she had, so that every last trace of prejudice against her would be thoroughly erased.
