I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 1019, Promoting Currency Notes

“Shaman, why have the Earth Tiger Tribe people come?” Yan Hua looked outside through the glass. Coming over during the rainy season was something unfathomable.

“They must want to ask something of us, otherwise they wouldn’t risk their lives to come all the way here.” Su Bai appeared very calm.

Yan Hua saw that he seemed to know something, and asked curiously, “Does Shaman know something?”

“It’s nothing more than asking us to give them goods cheaper so they can save some things. That’s all.” Su Bai swirled his teacup and continued, “Or else they’re asking about our secrets to the cement houses and cement roads. What else do you think our Tribe has that’s more enticing?”

“That’s also true. Regardless of which Tribe it is, they definitely all want our cement houses.” Yan Hua shrugged her nose noncommittally. “But our Tribe also has many things that attract others, like wines, paper, coloured linen, and so on.” Yan Hua felt these things were also Flame Dragon Tribe’s treasures. She believed there was not a single Tribe whose people could resist these things.

“Yes, as you say, then their purpose in coming must be for these things.” Su Bai still appeared very calm.

“Shaman, we won’t agree with them. Their Tribe doesn’t have anything we want.” Yan Hua tossed her black long hair. “Even if they do, only the slaves are somewhat useful. Who told our Tribe to lack enough labour? As for food, we are not lacking in any way.”

“Once the rainy season ends, there will be plenty of Wanderers. Our Tribe only needs to send some people to take these people in. We don’t need to trade our goods to the Earth Tiger Tribe for labour.” Su Bai picked up a piece of dried fish and tasted it. “Now we’ll just see what they can offer. If it is something beneficial, it’s not like we can’t consider it.”

“Does Shaman really want to tell them the secret of our cement houses? Isn’t this our Tribe’s trump card?” Yan Hua’s red eyes widened.

She naturally did not understand what Su Bai was thinking. She only felt such good things absolutely couldn’t be leaked to other Tribes.

These were the things that distinguished Flame Dragon Tribe from other Tribes.

“Of course not. We’re currently the ones holding the initiative. At most, we’ll just give them goods at a cheaper price.” Su Bai smiled faintly.

He was not foolish to that degree. These were advantages he had built up using modern knowledge. There was absolutely no way he would teach them to outsiders.

“I thought so!” Yan Hua instantly relaxed.

“Don’t worry too much. Just treat it with a normal attitude. Our Tribe will definitely lead at the very front.” Su Bai was very confident.

After the rainy season ended, he was confident he could make Flame Dragon Tribe open up an even larger gap from other Tribes.

Originally, there was already an insurmountable chasm between them. Once the Flame Dragon Tribe continued developing, what separated them might not just be a chasm, but possibly a galaxy.

Su Bai had too many ideas he wanted to put into action, only they had been delayed due to the rainy season’s obstruction.

“I believe you.” Yan Hua nodded without hesitation.

“Just wait. These few days, it won’t just be Earth Tiger Tribe people coming. There will also be people from other Tribes coming.” Su Bai had a confident appearance.

“Does Shaman mean the Green Vine Tribe?” Yan Hua asked tentatively.

“Not just them. Still, we can take this opportunity to promote our currency notes as well.” Su Bai started having ideas in his mind.

*Step step step…*

A series of footsteps came. Sha Lan placed her umbrella by the door and walked in with light steps.

She tidied her scattered hair and said, “Shaman, Green Vine Tribe people are already at our Tribe entrance too.”

Sha Lan had only just welcomed Earth Tiger Tribe people this morning. Just a few hours had passed and another Tribe had arrived.

Originally, the Restful Night Building had no business, but now there were customers. In just one day, a large batch of people are living inside of it again.

“It’ll be the same thing, send people to watch them and see what their plans are.” Su Bai instructed.

They had crossed them before. Even if they highlighted how their people were watching them, it was not excessive by any means. They would not dare say anything about it.

“Don’t worry, Shaman. I’ve already sent quite a few soldiers to watch over them. Once there’s any movement, we’ll know.” Sha Lan immediately said.

“These few days, just leave them hanging. Go receive them in a couple of days.” Su Bai said softly.

He did not want to see them for the time being. Only by leaving them hanging for longer would they become more anxious.

“Understood. But I believe they’ll soon know of each other’s existence.” Sha Lan said.

“That’s exactly what we want. Let them know they’re not the only competitor. We have many choices.” Su Bai laughed heartily.

“Just thinking about it feels very interesting.” Sha Lan also couldn’t help covering her mouth and laughing.

“Oh right, Ah’Lan, these few days the workshop should have printed some currency notes. Arrange things in the next couple of days and spread the news.”

Su Bai blinked his black eyes. “Say that labour value can now be converted to currency notes. Everyone can exchange currency notes based on their labour value. From now on, our Tribe will uniformly use currency notes. Without currency notes, you can’t exchange for things.”

To promote currency notes, they could only start from the Tribe’s own people. Only when their own Tribe’s people accepted currency notes would it be easier to promote them outward in the future.

And the reason Su Bai wanted to forcibly implement this was to make everyone accept currency notes. They had to have contact with it before they would slowly accept it.

Moreover, currency notes were beneficial for them as well. He believed they would accept use of them in short order.

“Understood, Shaman. I wonder how many currency notes should one point of labour value exchange for?” Sha Lan asked curiously.

She had previously known about currency notes being made, and also knew that currency notes had been successfully developed.

Sha Lan also knew about things like what denominations the currency notes had.

“Exchange one point of labour value for ten yuan. At the start, first give them some benefits. Anyway, after they work in the future, currency notes will be directly distributed.” Su Bai said.

Because some people could not even earn a few points of labour value after working a whole day, exchanging one point of labour value for ten yuan was not much.

“Understood. Leave this matter to me.” Sha Lan responded particularly seriously.

“Oh right, I’ll price the goods in the Central Market later. From now on, if you want to buy, just use the currency notes to buy.” Su Bai remembered this matter.

They could not just focus on promoting currency notes without pricing the goods in the Central Market. Even if they had currency notes, they would not know how to buy things.

“Yes.” Sha Lan swished her cat tail.
