Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 245 - 145: Building the Iron Rail System, Newcomers Outside the Territory_3

So today’s task was to resume resource extraction.

Thus, Cao Xing asked, “Cao Yi, how many sections of iron rail do we have in our territory?”

The subject, Cao Yi, reported, “To the Lord, we have consumed a large amount of iron in recent days and have manufactured over ten thousand sections of iron rail, enough to lay over ten kilometers of railway.”

Hearing this figure, Cao Xing nodded secretly.

With this, we could exploit more distant mining areas.

Moreover, so many iron rails could even be used to lay multiple railways for simultaneous extraction.

Cao Xing then looked at Blot, “Blot, have the resource points within a five-kilometer radius around our territory been surveyed?”

This Char Tribe Shaman nodded and said, “To the Lord, the survey is completed.”

“Within five kilometers nearby, there are two small groves, three small coal mines, two medium iron mines, and one medium copper mine.”

“However, monsters occupy these resource points, and I did not rashly disturb them.”

Cao Xing nodded, “Very well.”

“Blot, your task today is to escort some of our subjects with Assam, Kanter, and Kandar to the resource points and clear out the monsters inside.”

Upon hearing this, Blot’s expression immediately turned solemn, “Following your command!”

The two Centaurs also exclaimed excitedly, “Haha! Kandar wants to showcase his skills today!”

“Kanter does too!”

After saying this, they led a group of Polar People out of the territory.

Cao Xing continued, “Cao Yi, today the Tree Spirit Clan is still under your command. Your task is to build the track system to connect the resource points conquered by our warriors to the territory.”

The subject, Cao Yi, also replied respectfully, “At your command, Lord.”

Then, Cao Yi led a group of the Tree Spirit Clan to leave the territory.

Cao Xing then looked at Du An beside him.

“Du An, the remaining Polar People are under your command.”

“Today’s primary tasks are to construct a Basic-Level Alchemy Workshop and a Basic-Level Mechanical Factory, continue laying our territory’s brick flooring, and build the magic water storage devices for our rooms.”

“Also, build the Ascalon Training Camp.”

Du An, who had the [Enthusiastic Encouragement] talent, worked very efficiently.

This was also why Cao Xing kept him around.

Du An waved the hammer in his hand, a determined look on his resolute face.

“Yes! Honored Lord, I will complete your assigned tasks!”

This group of Polar People also dispersed again, and Cao Xing continued giving out orders.

“Dahua, check if the batch of vegetable seeds I just procured yesterday can be planted.”

“If there aren’t enough greenhouses, notify Du An and the others to set up new ones.”

The mature-looking Dahua approached and nodded respectfully.

As Cao Xing issued order after order,

Very soon, everyone had something to do.

As for Cao Xing himself, he felt a bit idle.

He did not intend to go out today as there was nothing urgent to do.

The only relatively pressing matter was the Moses Grass needed for the Cloud Yak’s consumption.

But regarding this thing, Cao Xing had no idea.

And according to Old Mel, there were still six days until the next time the Cloud Yak needed to eat Moses Grass, so there was no rush.

As for the Ice Phoenix Flower, Cao Xing did not quite trust that Qiu Yating.

Thus, he specifically instructed Renice to head to the vicinity of the Witch Forest today to check out the situation.

Once Renice returned, Cao Xing could set out.

Time flew by, and two hours passed…

Boom! Boom!

Outside the territory, there was a crashing sound at intervals.

During these two hours, Cao Xing did a tally.

Two Ice Nests crashed near his territory.

Which meant that every hour, an Ice Nest would crash down.

Compared to yesterday, when it took several hours for one Ice Nest to fall, today’s falling frequency was indeed much higher.

At this rate, the survivors had barely enough time between fighting Ice Nests and gathering resources.

However, Cao Xing had too many combat personnel.

Aili and Hiluviya had advanced to the Second Order, and together with all their buffs, they managed to handle the Ice Nests with ease.

Other combat personnel, like Hilda and Yilena, even had nothing to do.

Cao Xing roamed around the territory.

Meanwhile, Liu Muxue was playing with little bear cub Wally along with Tong Chuchu.

This little bear cub had grown from being unable to open its eyes when first brought home to now being able to walk like a child.

Its growth rate was very fast.

At this moment—

Eliza came running up to Cao Xing, gasping for breath, “Lo-Lord…”

“There are there are…”

Cao Xing glanced at her speechlessly, “Whatever it is, speak slowly.”

Eliza caught her breath a few times and then said, “Outside the territory, two people… have come!”

“They said they heard about our territory recruiting newcomers.”

Hearing this, Cao Xing’s eyes brightened immediately.

Oh? It seemed yesterday’s recruitment at the Tavern had taken effect!

“Take me there, Little Elysa.”

“Okay, okay.”

Eliza turned around and started running again.

Cao Xing followed behind her and quickly arrived at one of the iron gates.

Standing on the city wall looking out,

In the snowy land outside the territory, sure enough, there were two figures.

Leading them was a woman built like an ox, strong and massive.

Goodness, her height was at least over two meters!

Honestly, this was the first time Cao Xing had seen such a tall woman.

With her robust build and bulging muscles, along with a giant axe on her shoulder, she exuded an overwhelming presence!

Beside her stood a big-bearded dwarf.

That bearded dwarf, who appeared similar to Polar People, was in fact a major race in this world.

A genuine Dwarf Clan.

Cao Xing quickly glanced over their attributes…
