Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 138 - 111: Aili, Do You Want It?

“Speaking of which, I do have something I need the village chief’s help with…”

The village chief was taken aback; he had just mentioned it casually, and yet this young Lord actually brought it up.

“Uh… May I ask what it is?”

Cao Xing gestured to Old Mel and his daughter, Eliza, beside him.

At the start of the battle, Eliza had been frightened silly while following Cao Xing.

Luckily, the hunters were targeting Cao Xing.

After the initial scare, Eliza quickly slipped out of the crowd to join Old Mel.

The two of them then hid in a corner, not daring to come out.

Cao Xing said, “Old Mel and his daughter are going to join my territory.”

“They will leave Hog Village with their cattle and sheep, but I’ve heard that villagers from Hog Village need the village chief’s approval to leave, so…”

Hearing this, the village chief hesitated.

He turned to Old Mel and asked, “Mel, do you really want to follow this Lord to his territory?”

Old Mel nodded, “Yes, Mordo Village Chief.”

The village chief sighed, “You are the most experienced cattle farmer in our village, extremely knowledgeable about these animals’ habits. Whenever there is a problem with other villagers’ cattle or sheep, they always come to you for help.”

“To be honest, I’m really reluctant to see you go…”

“However, if it’s this powerful Lord, it might not be a bad idea after all.”

“Hog Village is indeed too weak; under his territory, you can live more safely.”

“Esteemed Lord Cao Xing, I agree.”

[The Hog Village chief has agreed to your recruitment application. Mel and Eliza have joined your territory. Territory population +2]

Joy appeared in Cao Xing’s eyes. He hadn’t expected the village chief to agree so readily.

However, this might be related to the powerful strength he had displayed,

which had directly intimidated the village chief.

He looked over to Old Mel and said, “Very good. From now on, you are my people.”

“Now, go pack up. We are returning to the territory.”

Cao Xing acted swiftly.

Old Mel nodded, turned with Eliza, and went back to pack their belongings.

Cao Xing also left Hog Village, waiting at the village entrance.

Hog Village would handle the corpses strewn about.

As to how they dealt with them, that was not his concern.

…

Half an hour later.

Old Mel and Eliza emerged, leading a dozen yaks, sheep, and dairy cows.

The yaks were loaded with large bundles that resembled Old Mel’s family’s luggage.

Additionally, Cao Xing saw several ox carts, filled with goods to the brim.

Old Mel apologized, “Sorry, Lord, packing took a little time.”

“Those carts are loaded with hay, food for the yaks and sheep.”

Cao Xing nodded, “No problem. Let’s return to the territory now.”

The group, along with dozens of cattle and sheep, left Hog Village in a grand procession.

This time, although Cao Xing hadn’t recruited anyone from the village tavern,

he had recruited six combat-capable individuals from those fellows at the Three Heroes Association.

He glanced at the attributes of these new members.

…

Cao Xing nodded.

They were just ordinary recruited creatures, and among those of the same level, the Wild Boar Warrior was the strongest.

Cao Xing had not granted them more buffs.

Because these newcomers had been forcibly subdued by him, their loyalty was too low.

Cao Xing was afraid they might rebel, so he wanted to wait for them to adjust first.

The team had grown larger since they set out, in the snow resembling a sizable caravan.

Since they had to bring the yaks, their movement speed wasn’t very fast.

As expected, it would take at least three hours to rush back to the territory.

By then, it would be nearly dark.
