Chapter 24: Recruitment of Ice Plain Druid

Seeing their names, Cao Xing’s mouth twitched again.

They were all names of flowers, quite pleasant to the ear.

But Cao Xing felt that these names were too refined and didn’t match his style.

So, he directly pointed at one of the women and said, “From today on, you will be called Dahua.”

“And she will be called Erhua, Sanhua.”

The three human women knelt down again and respectfully said, “Thank you for the name, merciful Lord.”

[You successfully named a subject: Dahua, Loyalty has increased, current Loyalty 75]

[You successfully named a subject: Erhua, Loyalty has increased, current Loyalty 73]

…

Cao Xing glanced at their attributes.

[Subject: Dahua]

[Level: 1]

[Attributes: Power 3, Agility 2, Spirit 3, Constitution 3]

[Talent: None]

[Loyalty: 75]

[Hunger Level: 41]

…

[Subject: Erhua]

[Level: 1]

[Attributes: Power 3, Agility 3, Spirit 2, Constitution 2]

[Talent: None]

[Loyalty: 73]

[Hunger Level: 37]

…

The Loyalty of these three people was quite high, but their Hunger Level was somewhat low.

It was clear that they hadn’t eaten in a long time.

So, Cao Xing said, “Go make a fire and cook some food for yourselves first. There is no cafeteria yet; the stove is inside the Lord’s Hut.”

The three nodded respectfully upon hearing this.

“Yes, Lord.”

After they left, Cao Xing continued to think by the bonfire.

These newly recruited people need a [Small Shelter] for resting at night.

Then, a dedicated cafeteria needs to be built for the subjects to eat.

However, whether constructing or upgrading buildings required a lot of time.

Cao Xing sighed as he looked at the busy 8 Polar People, “Still not enough manpower…”

“If there were more people, we could cooperate and significantly speed up the development efficiency of the territory.”

“Is there any way for me to recruit more manpower?”

Cao Xing couldn’t help but recall his gaming experience on the tablet before.

In it,

The game characters also faced the dilemma of insufficient manpower.

However, there were several solutions in the game.

First, when your territory reached a certain level, it gained some prestige in the nearby area, attracting some nearby tribe residents or refugees to pledge allegiance.

Second, dispatch troops like Assam to wander outside, with a chance to bring back some manpower from the wilderness.

Third, go to the cities or taverns in this world and recruit some NPCs with special abilities by paying a certain reward.

Fourth, directly launch wars to conquer nearby tribe residents and force them to pledge allegiance.

In short, there were many methods, not limited to the above.

But obviously, none of these methods were currently applicable to Cao Xing.

It was then that the three newly joined subjects, after having eaten their fill, brought Cao Xing some news.

Hearing this news, Cao Xing’s spirits immediately lifted.

He looked at Dahua and asked, “Do you mean that you escaped from a camp of hunters?”

“And there are still many humans imprisoned in that camp?”

Dahua nodded, “Yes, Lord. Those hunters are extremely cruel and inhumane!”

“Many of our companions have already fallen victim to them.”

“If possible, we hope the Lord can lend a hand to rescue them!”

Here, Dahua directly knelt on the ground, her tone full of pleading.

Cao Xing was currently in dire need of manpower.

Upon hearing this information, Cao Xing almost instinctively wanted to take action.

However, he quickly suppressed his excitement and helped Dahua up.

“Do you know how many of those hunters there are, and what are their strengths?”

Dahua, who had lived in the icy wilderness for a long time, her face of pale Western features seemed to be recalling something.

Then she respectfully said, “Lord, those hunters number about 20 to 30.”

“Most of the hunters’ auras feel about the same as the Lord’s.”

Cao Xing pondered for a moment, then nodded.

He was now a level 3 Frost Mage, meaning those hunters had strengths around level 3 to 5.

After Dahua finished, she added, “Besides those ordinary hunters, they have two squad leaders, whose strength is slightly stronger than the lady of the Snake-man Tribe.”

“In addition to that, there is a strongest captain, whose aura is similar to Mr. Assam’s Frost Wolf.”

It was clear that Dahua was quite intelligent, with strong communication skills.

Through her description, Cao Xing had already gauged the strength of those hunters.

One level 10 hunter, two hunters above level 5, and over twenty hunters below level 5.

If it were just relying on Cao Xing’s previous strength, dealing with them might not have been possible.

However, now that Assam had advanced to a Second Order creature, and with the ‘Ice Plain Druid’ Recruitment Scroll in Cao Xing’s hands, dealing with these hunters was not an issue at all.

Moreover, these hunters were said to be hiding some treasures…

It was clear that Cao Xing was tempted.

Assam also noticed Cao Xing’s thoughts.

“Lord, the location Dahua mentioned is about seven kilometers from the camp.”

“At our speed, it would take about an hour and a half to reach.”

Cao Xing nodded.

The travel speed in the snow was not fast in the first place, but an hour and a half was within the acceptable range, and they could definitely return before dark.

Liu Muxue also stood by at this moment and softly said, “A Xing, I’ll go with you.”

Cao Xing nodded, “Alright.”

After speaking, he gave Liu Muxue the [Black Iron Plate Armor (Green)] and the [Aurora Blessing Skill Book].

Watching the equipment and skill book in her hands,

Liu Muxue gratefully glanced at Cao Xing once again.

She clearly understood the importance of these equipment and skill books at the current stage.

Liu Muxue didn’t say much, silently clicking on the skill book to learn, and then putting on the armor.

Cao Xing saw this.

Liu Muxue was now wearing black armor on her upper body, with her long bare legs below, covered by a thick wolf skin coat.

This attire had a rather intriguing style.

Cao Xing himself also clicked to learn the [Ice Cone Skill] and then took out the [Ice Plain Druid] Recruitment Scroll.

The System Prompt appeared.

[Do you want to use the Ice Plain Druid Recruitment Scroll to recruit a Druid with level 15 elite strength?]

[Ice Plain Druid occupies: 3 populations]

Cao Xing directly clicked ‘Yes.’

Meanwhile,

In front of Cao Xing, a Hexagram Array with a diameter reaching five meters, larger than before, appeared.

The Hexagram Array erupted with bursts of intense light.

Then, a powerful and ancient aura emerged.

Through the light screen, Cao Xing could see a humanoid creature standing at two and a half meters tall with a robust build.

Just standing there without moving, it emanated a frightening pressure!

After the light screen faded, everyone could finally see the full appearance of the creature.

It was a being covered in snowy-white fur, with sharp bear claws and thick limbs, yet it resembled a human form.

His face, covered with hair, revealed a look of devoutness.

Then, he placed his right hand on his chest and slightly bowed, saying, “Nature’s power will guide me forward.”

“Guardian Andrew, reporting to you.”
