Chapter 384: The Wild History of the Ninja World?

”You want to extract Konoha’s intelligence from me?”

Danzo narrowed his eyes at Amamiya Kenichi, his expression dark and difficult to read.

Amamiya Kenichi nodded without hesitation.

His thoughts regarding Danzo were actually very simple. If he could gain something useful from him, that would be best. If not, it did not matter. He could simply drive a kunai into Danzo and control him directly, then use him as a barely acceptable consumable.

After all, Danzo’s strength was probably at the level of an elite Jonin, perhaps even close to Kage level.

If Danzo still had the Sharingan and Izanagi, then his strength would undoubtedly reach Kage level. However, Amamiya Kenichi was not sure about the current Danzo.

This old man’s strength was difficult to judge, but he had certainly reached elite Jonin level at minimum. Otherwise, Tobirama would not have had to choose between him and Hiruzen when deciding who would become the Third Hokage.

At the very least, Danzo could still be used as part of a suicide squad to attack Kirigakure.

In fact, Danzo’s very existence would likely make some people in Kirigakure rush forward just to kill him.

After all, Danzo had committed countless dirty deeds. It was hard to say whether he had ever done anything immoral to Kirigakure as well.

”What can I gain?” Danzo asked calmly.

That made Amamiya Kenichi take a closer look at him.

Why did it feel like this old man had changed so much after a trip to the Pure Land?

In the past, Danzo would definitely have been thinking about resurrection and then becoming Hokage. Becoming Hokage was practically his inner demon.

But the current Danzo did not seem to care much about those things.

Had Danzo met Tobirama in the Pure Land? Or had someone else enlightened him?

This was truly interesting.

It could not be that the Pure Land had some kind of brainwashing effect, could it?

”You won’t gain anything.” Amamiya Kenichi shrugged.

Danzo could not be revived. If he were revived, Nagato would definitely turn hostile.

Compared to Danzo, Nagato was far more important.

Although Nagato’s strength was also closely tied to the Rinnegan, and without the Rinnegan his strength might be rather ordinary, he was at least still alive and still possessed the Rinnegan.

As long as Amamiya Kenichi and Nagato continued cooperating, Obito would have no chance to take Nagato’s eyes.

Without the Rinnegan, even Edo Tensei Madara would not be especially troublesome.

Madara with the Rinnegan was the one who was truly incomprehensibly powerful. That was why Amamiya Kenichi did not dare to act too arrogantly right now.

If he could easily defeat Madara already, why would he go through all this trouble?

He would simply unify the entire Ninja World himself.

”Heh. Then why should I help you?” Danzo sneered.

He knew about Edo Tensei. It could revive the dead, but it could not force the dead to reveal intelligence.

”It doesn’t matter if you don’t speak. Minato-san is still here. I’ll know everything a Hokage of Konoha knows. I called you out only because I wanted to see Root’s intelligence. If you’re unwilling to talk, then I’ll control you and use you as a vanguard.”

Amamiya Kenichi shrugged.

Minato touched his nose.

He was indeed Konoha’s Fourth Hokage. Although his tenure had not been long, he knew most of Konoha’s intelligence.

The only things he did not fully understand were probably the intelligence of the various clans.

And Root’s intelligence.

Back then, Danzo had been extremely unwilling to give up Root’s authority. He had even brought up matters from Hiruzen’s era, so Minato truly did not know much about Root.

”...Did you use Naruto’s situation to make the Fourth Hokage cooperate with you?” Danzo glanced at Minato standing beside him.

After thinking for a moment, he understood why Minato was willing to cooperate.

After all, for the former Fourth Hokage, only his son, Naruto, could make him change his stance and stand against the village.

If it had been Danzo himself, he would have done the same.

Or rather, he had once thought of doing so.

Unfortunately, that fool Hiruzen had insisted on letting the Nine Tails Jinchuriki grow up ”freely.” Otherwise, the Fourth Hokage would never have cooperated with Amamiya Kenichi.

Minato did not speak, nor did he respond to Danzo.

But sometimes, silence was also a stance.

”...You truly are a devil, Amamiya Kenichi.” Danzo’s tone was strange, as if he were both sighing and reminiscing.

Amamiya Kenichi’s mouth twitched.

This old man talked too much.

Thinking this, Amamiya Kenichi picked up his kunai.

It seemed Danzo had no intention of cooperating, so there was no value in continuing the conversation. Amamiya Kenichi planned to control Danzo directly and then use him as cannon fodder in Kirigakure.

Cannon fodder that could attract hatred.

”Which village’s intelligence do you want to know? Konoha’s?” Danzo looked at the kunai in Amamiya Kenichi’s hand, then revealed a strange smile.

Amamiya Kenichi’s hand paused.

For the moment, he put the kunai away.

Naturally, it was best if Danzo was willing to talk.

”Kirigakure’s,” Amamiya Kenichi said directly.

”Kirigakure? Interesting. Root has carried out more than a dozen missions targeting Kirigakure, but that village...”

Danzo seemed to recall something, speaking with a faint sigh.

As Amamiya Kenichi listened, his expression gradually became strange.

So, after all this, the rebellion of a certain clan in Kirigakure back then was related to Root?

Truly worthy of Konoha’s Root, the darkness of the Ninja World.

However, after Danzo finished speaking, Amamiya Kenichi did not find much useful intelligence.

After all, most of the incidents had been carried out by the previous Root, and they had little bearing on the current situation.

”Do you dare believe what I’ve told you?” Danzo looked at Amamiya Kenichi with a faint smile.

He had provided intelligence, but only he knew whether it was true.

Amamiya Kenichi had no way to verify it through Root.

”The nonsense you gave me doesn’t have any special value anyway, so whether I believe it or not won’t affect anything.” Amamiya Kenichi waved his hand.

If it helped him unify the Ninja World, he would verify the truth of the intelligence. But if it was merely some trivial matter, then whether it was true or false did not matter.

”Oh? What exactly do you want to do? Perhaps I can provide some information that interests you.” Danzo sat down in a chair and leaned back casually, looking rather lazy.

Amamiya Kenichi licked his lips.

This old man Danzo was acting a little strange.

”Nothing much. I’m just planning to unify the Ninja World,” Amamiya Kenichi said casually.

Even if Danzo refused to cooperate, Amamiya Kenichi would put the soul restraint device developed by Amado on him and imprison him indefinitely.

That way, even if someone else wanted to use Edo Tensei on Danzo, they would be unable to do so. Naturally, there would be no problem of intelligence leaking.

Danzo stared at Amamiya Kenichi in confusion.

He began to suspect that he had listened to too many of Tobirama’s lectures in the Pure Land, to the point that his mind was now malfunctioning.

Otherwise, how could he hear such an insane idea?

But looking at Amamiya Kenichi’s expression, and then at Minato’s calm face beside him, Danzo confirmed that Amamiya Kenichi was not joking.

In other words, he was serious?

Serious?

”You plan to unify the Ninja World? The Five Great Nations?” Danzo licked his lips and could not help asking.

Although he was certain his ears were fine, what if he had misheard?

”Yes. The Five Great Nations, the Five Great Ninja Villages. In the future, there will be no distinction between nations and hidden villages in the entire Ninja World. There will only be one nation in this world.”

As Danzo listened to Amamiya Kenichi, he took a deep breath.

Neither the First Hokage nor his own teacher had ever entertained such a mad idea.

He truly did not know how Amamiya Kenichi could have such a wild thought. Worse, Amamiya Kenichi actually seemed to intend to put it into action.

But if that was the case, then Amamiya Kenichi asking about Kirigakure’s intelligence meant...

Danzo fell silent.

Amamiya Kenichi was not in a hurry to question him.

Reality was reality, after all. No matter how sharp a ninja’s mind was, it was difficult to figure out everything at once.

This world did not stop time just because someone was thinking.

”...You plan to target Kirigakure first?” Danzo narrowed his eyes and asked.

Amamiya Kenichi shrugged noncommittally.

Seeing that, Danzo could not help rubbing his face with both hands.

”You are even crazier than I imagined, Amamiya Kenichi.”

Danzo lowered his hands. His Edo Tensei eyes stared strangely at Amamiya Kenichi.

But soon, Danzo seemed to figure something out and shared a rather interesting piece of information.

After Amamiya Kenichi heard it, ideas immediately began to form in his mind.

”But I suggest you first provoke the relationship between Iwagakure and Kumogakure. Let them fall into war. Otherwise, if you attack Kirigakure, you will definitely attract the attention of the other four Ninja Villages,” Danzo reminded him.

Amamiya Kenichi glanced at him.

It seemed Danzo had really figured something out.

Or perhaps he had some other scheme.

But it did not matter even if he did. Someone of Danzo’s level should not be able to release Edo Tensei by himself, so there was no need to worry.

As long as Danzo remained under his control, whatever Danzo plotted would not matter.

”I know a piece of intelligence. Root discovered it during an investigation. It is very interesting...” Danzo revealed a sinister smile.

Amamiya Kenichi became somewhat interested.

What kind of intelligence could make Danzo smile like that?

Minato, who stood beside him, was also a little curious.

”Iwagakure’s Tsuchikage, Ōnoki, and Kumogakure’s Raikage, A...”

Danzo spoke of the intelligence he knew.

After hearing it, Amamiya Kenichi froze.

Minato, beside him, sucked in a sharp breath.

”Impossible, right?” Amamiya Kenichi could not help retorting.

He found it far too absurd. Truly too absurd. It was almost like utter nonsense, the kind of unofficial history people passed around for fun.

Why were such stories called unofficial histories?

Naturally, because they were not officially recorded and were not recognized.

However, many people believed that unofficial histories contained certain truths, so they firmly believed in them.

He simply had not expected the Ninja World to have unofficial histories too.

”Believe it or not, that is what the intelligence I collected says.” Danzo pouted.

When he had first learned this intelligence, he had not believed it either. But because it was far too special, Danzo had never told anyone, and the Root ninja who had discovered it had also permanently closed his mouth.

So in the entire Ninja World, only he, a certain person from Kumogakure, and Ōnoki from Iwagakure should know about this matter.

Amamiya Kenichi rubbed his face.

If it was true, then it would truly be the greatest scandal in the Ninja World.

However, he personally did not quite believe it. It was simply too outrageous.

But with this information, his plan did seem more feasible.

After all, sometimes people who enjoyed gossip did not care whether the gossip was true or false.

The more it involved important figures, the more people were willing to believe it.

This was a human flaw, and the people of the Ninja World had this trait as well.

”It seems I need to inform Shiori... No, Shiori isn’t very suitable for this kind of work. Then perhaps...”

Amamiya Kenichi rubbed his hands.

He thought of someone.

Someone he had planted in Konoha.

If he handed this matter to that person, his goal should be achieved.

”Itachi-niisan, Shisui-niisan seems a bit agitated lately.”

In the Land of Rice Fields, inside the small village where the Uchiha clan had gathered, Sasuke had just finished his training for the day. He sat on a wooden stake, swinging his short legs.

”Mm. Shisui does seem a little restless lately.” Itachi smiled and rubbed his younger brother’s hair, but deep in his eyes, a hidden hatred flickered.

His father was dead.

Killed by Konoha.

Even his corpse had been desecrated, and Konoha had even planned to entrap his clan and his mother.

If Amamiya Kenichi had not helped, he might never have seen his mother return.

But even so, his mother had aged greatly overnight.

Itachi remembered this grudge.

One day in the future, he would repay it to Konoha.

Shisui was right.

The Uchiha had never wronged Konoha.

It was Konoha that had wronged the Uchiha.

”Brother, airship!” Sasuke pointed at the sky.

Itachi looked up, then instantly jumped down.

Amamiya Kenichi had arrived.
