Transmigrated To Ancient Time: Thrive With An Auction System!

Chapter 456: Iron Mine

The helmets and tools cost Yao Zhi a total of 89,000 points. It was expensive, but the quality of the goods was very good.

After she divided the equipment and tools, she taught them how to use them. When everyone put on their safety helmets, she said, “Let’s go. Be careful when you are inside.”

“Understood,” the Ling squad replied in unison.

Unlike other parts of the mountain, the area near the mine was barren. The soil was a distinct mixed color of bright red, orange, and slight rust stains. The water dripping from the cave’s walls was yellow in color.

When they walked for half an hour, Yao Zhi felt it was harder to breathe, a sign of a lack of oxygen. She quickly gestured to her guards to stop and said, “We can’t go any further. Go back.”

Although Ling Shi’er and his brothers were confused, they still nodded and obeyed their Master’s command.

As they walked out of the cave, Yao Zhi picked up a piece of rock. The rock was only the size of a baby’s fist, but it felt very heavy.

After they walked out of the cave, everyone took several deep breaths. When she felt better, Yao Zhi asked her system to scan the rock. A moment later, a blue screen appeared in front of her.

When she finished reading the information, her eyes lit up in delight. This was actually an iron mine!

This mine was an underground mine. The ore body was 10 kilometers long, 157.4 meters thick, and reached a depth of 5.89 kilometers. The type of iron ore was magnetite, and the total reserve was around 48.21 billion metric tons.

With so much iron reserve, it was more than enough for them to forge weapons for the entire White Tiger Army and the Northeast Army for generations.

Now that she had found the iron mine, it was timed to mark it for automatic mining. She turned to her guards and said, “All of you go farther away. Don’t stand too close.”

“Understood,” the Ling squad replied in unison.

They split up and went to a location 100 meters away from their Master. They observed the surroundings and kept their guard up.

After she sent her guards away, Yao Zhi called out, “System.”

“Host, what can I do for you?” the system asked in a mechanical voice.

“System, I want to mark this area for automatic mining.”

When the system heard this, it replied instantly. “Host, there are two methods for marking the area. First, you can do it manually as you did before. Second, you can use the auto-marking feature.”

Knowing that her system wouldn’t offer anything to her without asking for a price, Yao Zhi asked, “Is the auto-marking free?”

“Host, the auto-marking is not free. You need to pay 5,000 merit points every time you use it. BUT! If you use the auto-marking feature, you don’t have to waste your time and spiritual energy.”

Now that she could earn merit points by auctioning her spiritual herbs in exchange for system points and converting them, Yao Zhi was much more generous. 5,000 merit points was actually a reasonable price.

“Why didn’t you offer this method before? Do you know how much pain I endured during the marking process?” she asked with a frown.

Feeling wronged, the system replied, “Host, it’s not that this system didn’t want to tell you. But back then, the system’s energy was not enough to unlock the auto-marking feature.”

“After the Host planted the spiritual vein in the system’s grassland, the system’s energy slowly increased and unlocked this feature. So, the Host can’t blame the system in this matter.”

When Yao Zhi heard the system’s explanation, a guess flashed through her mind.

It seemed that this system also needed her assistance. Since this was a symbiotic relationship between them, it was no wonder that the system was eager to help her.

She always thought that the system helped her out of kindness. Looks like she was overthinking.

Reaching this conclusion, Yao Zhi no longer held the system in a higher position compared to her and said, “Next time, you must inform me about all the features, including the newly unlocked ones.”

“Host, this system will keep your words in mind.”

Receiving the system’s promise, she finally nodded. “Use the auto-marking feature on this iron mine. Store the mined iron ore in the system’s grassland.”

“Host, where do you want to store the byproducts?” the system asked.

“Just put them in the system’s grassland, too.”

“Understood.”

As soon as the system replied to her, a dazzling golden light appeared around the area of the iron mine. The light only lasted for 2 seconds before it disappeared.

Unlike before, Yao Zhi didn’t feel anything at all. She checked the time, and since it was still early, she called her guards and went to the next resource location.

Unbeknownst to her, the moment the second mark was activated, a new interface appeared on her system’s panels.

Although the system’s grassland area was vast, it was not vast enough to be used to store the rock salt, ores, and byproducts. So, the system submitted a report to request that a special feature be activated.

The permission was granted the moment the report was submitted, which surprised the system. In its entire existence, this was the first time it had seen the main system agree so fast.

The new feature was the Automatic Management Warehouse. This warehouse was not like the farmland, orchard, or animal farm warehouses, but looked more like an in-game warehouse.

It was similar to her system’s storage, but with unlimited slots. Each slot could hold 1 type of item with a maximum of 999,999 items.

With the Automatic Management feature, those goods would be packed and stored in the warehouse, which saved space and made it easier for the Host to check the amount of resources she had.

The system was quite satisfied with this.
