Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 300. Let’s Have a Match (2)

The Sword Saint put his hand to his throbbing forehead and said.

“Shall we postpone the duel for a bit?”

“No, it’s fine. We can just do it. Just a moment.”

And Patrick stood lightly and circulated his internal energy.

He raised the internal energy throughout his body and cleanly pushed out the toxins of alcohol from his eight extraordinary meridians and fine meridians.

And….

“Huuuuuuu.”

As he let out a long breath filled with the smell of alcohol, Patrick’s complexion returned to normal.

“Phew, as expected, circulating qi is the best for a hangover.”

At that sight, the Sword Saint said, as if slightly impressed.

“You have a strange talent.”

“Hahaha. I needed it.”

“You needed it?”

“Yes. That’s right.”

In his past life, when he asked his wife for a hangover cure, nine times out of ten, it was poison.

So he had to create his own qi circulation method to drive out the toxins of alcohol.

Patrick drew the swords in both his hands and said, rotating his waist from side to side.

“How’s your condition?”

“I don’t think you’re one to talk, but…. It’s the best.”

“That’s a relief.”

Patrick glanced at the mages who were broadcasting and recording this duel on video and said.

“I’ll confirm one more time. If I win this bet, the Imperial Army must retreat and accept the ceasefire agreement. Got it?”

“I know. And if I win, you will stay out of this war.”

“Of course, I promise.”

“……”

The Sword Saint let out a sigh.

No matter how he thought about it, the terms of the negotiation were one-sided.

But what could he do?

It was already spilt water.

He cleared his mind of all thoughts and drew his sword.

Sreureureung.

“Hoo? A famous sword.”

Patrick’s eyes lit up when he saw the Sword Saint’s sword.

“It is a national treasure of the Empire.”

The name of this sword, made of solid mithril, was Venator.

It was a sword with the name of the Imperial family of the Empire attached to it, a sword passed down from generation to generation to the knight most favored by the Emperor.

Naturally, its current owner was the Sword Saint.

“Your sword is…. just so-so.”

“I bought it at a blacksmith’s shop in front of the Academy, 70 silver per sword, buy one get one free, with a discount (tantrum).”

“……”

“A great deal, right?”

He’s making a person feel awkward.

Tsk, what could he do?

From the beginning, in his past life and this life, Patrick had no connection with famous swords.

“I trust you will not blame the difference in equipment for the result.”

“Of course.”

“Good. Then…”

The Sword Saint held his sword up in front of his chest and said.

“I am Duke Carlos Dante Reynardo of the Venator Empire.”

Patrick also held his sword up to face him and said.

“I am Patrick Schneider of the Schneider Duchy.”

“Then…”

“Yes. Let’s star…t.”

The moment the word ‘t’ came out, Patrick’s figure disappeared.

First strike wins.

It was Patrick’s favorite method.

However….

Kwaaaang.

It seemed it was the same for the Sword Saint.

Patrick and the Sword Saint.

The weapons of both clashed at the exact midpoint.

Their attacks had crossed while they were both making a preemptive strike.

The fragments of the Aura Blade that shattered into pieces and the terrifying roar.

It was an impact so intense that even the 7-star knights watching the duel up close flinched.

However….

Kakakakakwang! Kwaang! Kwang!

The two were already exchanging blows without a care.

The Sword Saint’s sword and Patrick’s twin swords clashed chaotically in one spot.

The moment they failed to seize the initiative with a preemptive strike, both tried to push the opponent back and apply pressure with continuous attacks.

And when it came to continuous attacks, Patrick, who used twin swords, had an overwhelming advantage.

In the first place, wasn’t twin sword swordsmanship a style that pursued the continuity and unpredictability of attacks at the cost of power and stability?

[ Twin Dragons Eight Sword Forms: Fourth Form: Twin Dragons Wild Dance ]

Patrick’s twin swords launched countless slashes at a speed invisible to the eye.

At this, the Sword Saint’s eyebrows twitched for a moment….

Reynardo Style.

Sword Area.

At that moment, the Sword Saint’s sword formed countless barriers surrounding him.

And that defensive barrier blocked all of Patrick’s countless wild blows.

‘Sword Membrane?’

Patrick thought as he watched the Sword Saint’s response.

Yes. Considering the old man’s level, it wasn’t surprising that he could deploy a Sword Membrane.

Well, it was a bit more surprising that he had done it without learning it, starting from scratch.

The Sword Saint’s Sword Membrane was extremely dense.

So much so that there seemed to be no gap for Patrick’s Twin Dragons Wild Dance to break through.

However….

‘If there’s no gap, I’ll break it.’

Fighting spirit imbued the sword of the swinging Patrick.

And then….

[ Twin Dragons Wild Dance: Modified Form: Rainwater Drop ]

A single raindrop is insignificant.

But the water that gathers at the edge of the eaves and falls can surely break a rock.

The slashes of Patrick, which had been wildly dancing over a wide area, gathered into one.

The number of slashes did not decrease at all, but its range became extremely narrow.

And when it became a single point….

Kakakakakakakakakakakak!

“Ugh…”

It grinds rather than hits.

At Patrick’s attack, which seemed to have that intention, the Sword Saint groaned.

Even though it was a defensive method he had never seen before, that Double Dragon had immediately presented a suitable attack method.

As if he already knew.

However….

‘It doesn’t matter.’

The Sword Saint withdrew his Sword Membrane.

And as he withdrew his Sword Membrane, Patrick’s sword, like a venomous snake, dug in, aiming for his neck and heart.

And the Sword Saint….

“Haaap!”

He did not dodge it.

Rather, he advanced to meet it and thrust his sword.

Even though Patrick’s attack was clearly faster.

And the moment Patrick’s sword accurately stabbed the Sword Saint’s neck and heart….

Kakaang!

With a sharp metallic sound, Patrick’s sword bounced off.

And the Sword Saint’s sword….

Chwaaaak!

It accurately severed Patrick’s neck.

“Heok!”

“He did it!”

The knights of the Empire who saw that sight let out a gasp.

It was a short and fierce exchange, but in the end, the Sword Saint’s sword had struck the Double Dragon’s neck.

However….

“This is the second time, but…”

The Sword Saint, still in his cutting stance, did not withdraw his sword and continued to speak.

“That is a truly strange technique.”

At that, a voice was heard from the empty air.

“Thanks for the compliment!”

[ Twin Dragons Eight Sword Forms: Second Form: Great Dragon Cross Sword ]

A huge cross-shaped slash falls to the ground.

Looking at the attack with the terrifying power reminiscent of a divine judgment, the Sword Saint did not dodge.

He just leisurely raised his sword upwards.

And….

Kwakwakwakwakwa!

Patrick’s attack left a huge cross-shaped (十) mark on the ground.

But it failed to leave any wound at the intersection of that cross.

There, the Sword Saint stood proudly, with his sword raised in the same posture.

“Tsk.”

Patrick clicked his tongue and created some distance for now.

The Great Dragon Cross Sword that fell from the air to the ground after deceiving with Form-Shifting Position Change.

He had intended to launch a Flashing Dragon Strike by catching his blind spot if he dodged it, but the Sword Saint didn’t dodge it and just stopped and received it.

As if he had read Patrick’s intention.

In the end, Patrick also had to create distance and face him for now.

From the first clash to this moment.

In terms of time, it hadn’t even been 10 seconds.

But in that short moment, hundreds of slashes were exchanged, and a high-level reading of moves that ordinary swordsmen couldn’t even comprehend had taken place.

“……”

“……”

Tteong-geurang.

A silence where not even the sound of swallowing saliva could be heard.

In the midst of it, the sound of a dazed soldier dropping his spear rang out.

“Heok?!”

The soldier was terrified.

It was a mistake that could make his military life hell if his superior found out.

However….

“……”

“……”

At this moment, no one was paying attention to that soldier.

Everyone’s gaze was focused on just two men.

That’s how amazing the exchange between Patrick and the Sword Saint was, enough to take one’s breath away.

‘A human…. how can a human do that…’

‘Strong. No, I already knew the Sword Saint was strong, but…’

‘So that’s the Double Dragon.’

‘No way. How can he…’

In any field, one sees as much as one knows.

The knights were more surprised than the soldiers, and what was even more surprising than the ordinary knights were the 7-star knights who had pioneered the supreme realm.

‘Did I… call that man a brat?’

‘This is crazy…. Hah…. I’m going crazy.’

‘They’re on a different level.’

Many of the 7-star knights present here were not happy with this duel itself.

Think about the conditions of the duel itself.

If Patrick wins, the war itself must be withdrawn, but if the Sword Saint wins, Patrick just doesn’t participate in the war.

It was an unfair condition to anyone who saw it.

They had held their tongues because they couldn’t be so rude in front of the Sword Saint, even though the shout of ‘No way.’ had risen to their throats.

But now they knew.

‘The Sword Saint’s judgment was right.’

‘If we had met that man on the battlefield as an enemy…’

‘So that’s why he did that.’

There was a necessity for the Sword Saint himself to accept the disadvantageous conditions.

The strength of that Patrick Schneider was on a different level, enough to make even the strongest knights of the Empire think this way.

* * *

Although the Sword Saint and Patrick had unfolded an exchange that left everyone in awe and admiration….

“Hmm…. So it was like this.”

From the perspective of the participants themselves, it was only the stage of reconnaissance.

The Sword Saint had at least seen Patrick fight at the Arcana, but Patrick knew nothing of the Sword Saint’s sword.

Well, he had exchanged a very brief blow at the Arcana, but that was too short.

So he had started with reconnaissance, and the result now was….

‘He uses a sword, but his style is close to Shaolin.’

This was it.

In Patrick’s eyes, the Sword Saint’s swordsmanship had parts that were in line with Shaolin.

Immovable Giant Rock.

He felt the principle that could be called the essence of Shaolin martial arts in the Sword Saint’s sword.

Especially….

“What was that just now?”

“What do you mean?”

“Come on, why are you being like this between professionals?”

As Patrick said with a sly smile as if he knew everything, the Sword Saint let out a sigh and said.

“You’re trying to reveal all my secrets.”

The Sword Saint slowly raised his sword and took his stance, continuing his words.

“Unfortunately, I have no intention of telling you. If you’re curious, why don’t you find out for yourself?”

“Well, I have an idea. I’ve faced something similar before.”

“……”

The Sword Saint’s eyebrows twitched.

Patrick had just said that he knew the ultimate secret that he had devoted his entire life to achieving.

No, even….

‘You’ve faced it before?’

It was impossible.

The Sword Saint frowned and said.

“You’re more of a bluffer than I thought.”

“Ah, you don’t believe me. You don’t believe me.”

Patrick shook his head and said.

“Why don’t people believe my words? Why? I don’t understand.”

“Usually, in such cases, it is common to think that the people around are normal and one is wrong.”

“Me? Wrong?”

Patrick put his hand on his chest, thought for a moment, and said.

“Nah, no way.”

This bastard is a lost cause.

“Well, anyway, it’s nice to see it after a long time.”

Patrick smirked and thought.

The Sword Saint’s technique that deflected his own attack imbued with an Aura Blade with his bare body.

He had experienced something like this only once in the Murim.

‘Indestructible Diamond Body.’

He had faced the technique when he had a duel with one of the elders of Shaolin.

He made his own body into a body of diamond and charged recklessly, which was quite a headache.

His body, which didn’t get a single wound even when stabbed with a sword, disregarded defense and charged recklessly, and each and every attack form was on par with a mutual destruction.

And what the Sword Saint had shown now was similar.

However…

‘I don’t know the principle.’

“Shall I test it?”

The moment after he muttered that….

Pit!

Patrick’s body disappeared as it was.

And the Sword Saint quickly swung his sword towards the rear.

Kwaaang!

The Sword Saint’s Aura Blade and Patrick’s Aura Blade clashed.

But at that moment, Patrick, taking advantage of the uniqueness of his twin swords, pressed down on the Sword Saint’s sword with one hand and stabbed at the Sword Saint’s head with the sword in his other hand.

At this, the Sword Saint….

“It’s useless!”

He thrust his head forward as it was.

Kaang!

A metallic sound rang out as Patrick’s sword, imbued with an Aura Blade, and the Sword Saint’s head clashed.

And the Sword Saint….

“Huuup!”

He powerfully swung the sword that was pressed down by Patrick upwards.

Patrick tried to hold on, but….

“Tsk.”

It was difficult to seal the Sword Saint’s upward slash, which was imbued with all his strength from both hands, with just one hand.

The moment he felt he couldn’t press it down, Patrick, on the contrary, gently yielded to that force.

Peeoong!

Aura shot upwards as if a volcano had erupted.

And at the peak of that soaring aura, Patrick’s body was also floating like a leaf blown by the wind.

Patrick, who had deliberately not resisted and let his body be thrown, immediately righted his posture in mid-air with the strength of his waist and looked down.

Since he had already gone up, he was thinking of launching a blow using the height difference from here.

However….

“Where are you looking?”

Patrick’s expression hardened for the first time.

The owner of the voice was, of course, the Sword Saint.

And the location from which the voice came was higher than Patrick.

As Patrick floated upwards with the force of the exploding aura, the Sword Saint had also jumped higher in the meantime.

Hiding his movement within the force of the exploding aura.

“Got you.”

“Tsk!”

Kwakwakwakwang! Kwangkwang! Kwaang!

The swords of the Sword Saint and Patrick clashed fiercely in mid-air.

A situation where both were unstable, unable to plant their feet on the ground.

In other words, dodging the attacks was impossible.

It meant that they had to block everything.

And as for who had the advantage here….

“Uwaaaaaaap!”

The advantage was definitely with the Sword Saint.

Patrick’s sword speed was faster, but the Sword Saint’s power was superior.

On top of that, the advantage of using the height difference and the advantage gained by catching him from behind in the first move.

All of that worked in the Sword Saint’s favor.

Kwaang! Kwaaang!

Rather, from the Sword Saint’s perspective, it was more surprising that Patrick was continuing the fight even in this situation.

He thought it was a situation where he could decide the match, but Patrick was blocking the Sword Saint’s attacks by sharply twisting his body diagonally.

It was a defense made possible by truly amazing balance and swift sword speed.

However….

‘You’re already in checkmate.’
