Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 296. Ah, Why Again? (1)

“Lunatic Shield!”

“Earth Wall!”

The disciples guarding the Venerable Master’s side hurriedly deployed defensive magic.

Even in the sudden situation, they desperately tried to protect the Venerable Master.

However….

Kwaaaaaang!

The giant golden fist stubbornly broke through their defensive barriers and directly struck the Venerable Master’s body.

“Keoheok!”

The Venerable Master coughed up blood and was sent flying backwards.

It was a powerful attack that could have killed him outright if not for his disciples’ defense.

And the black mages saw it.

The existence of the enemy who had attacked their Venerable Master.

“What… what is that?”

“Why is that thing here?”

It was the summon that had become the Venerable Master’s pawn just a moment ago, slaughtering the dragons.

A muscular warrior, bald with dots on his forehead.

That warrior, with one hand held up before his chest, was in a state of having extended a single fist with a solemn gaze.

‘A… mistake.’

The Venerable Master thought as he forced his fallen body up.

In the midst of preparing for the sudden situation while holding onto his magic power, the reins that had bound them had loosened.

‘What about the other two?’

He hurriedly checked and found that the connection with the other two had also faded significantly.

The Venerable Master hurriedly strengthened his connection with the two and shouted to his disciples.

“Block him! Use all your strength to block him!”

“Yes!”

At his shout, all his disciples rushed towards him at once.

And the opponent….

“Amitabha!”

Emitting a golden Buddhist light from his entire body, he rose into the sky.

And at the same time….

The Seventy-Two Arts of Shaolin

Thirteen Demon-Subduing Palms

Giant palms extended in all directions from the air, attacking the black mages.

“Keoheok…”

“Kuaaaak!”

The black mages caught in the area of the giant palm technique screamed in pain and collapsed.

Those who were hit directly, of course, and even those who were slightly grazed fell downwards as if they had received a tremendous shock.

“Di… divine power?”

“No way. What kind of undead has divine power?”

The black mages were astonished.

Whatever that bald summon was, its current essence was undead.

So how could such a being use divine power?

In fact, what this monk was using was based on Buddhist law and was different from divine power.

But in that it was imbued with the evil-warding aura that shatters the wicked and wrongful, there was no difference.

In other words, this monk was a natural enemy to the black mages.

He gritted his teeth.

Although he only had fragmented memories, he could roughly understand.

He had been used.

After losing to the Heavenly Demon, his consciousness was lost, and after that, he was thoroughly used by these unidentified beings.

He didn’t know what their identity was, but there was no way the purpose of those who did such wicked deeds could ever be good.

‘For the great righteousness and peace of the Murim, I will defeat them here.’

The monk who had made up his mind….

No, the fist of the one who was once the greatest master of Shaolin and was called the Demon-Annihilating Divine Fist in the Murim was clenched tightly.

“Haaap!”

His body shot out in a straight line towards the Venerable Master.

And the fist that was powerfully extended emitted a terrifying destructive power.

The Seventy-Two Arts of Shaolin

Ultimate Great Vajra Fist

The fist of a Vajra warrior that annihilates evil exploded directly on the Venerable Master.

No, it was about to.

If another swordsman had not intervened and blocked his fist.

“Donor…?”

Before the surprise of the divine fist had even faded, an astonishing slash with the force to split everything came flying from the side.

The divine fist quickly moved his body to dodge, and a sharp slash cut deep into the ground where he had been.

The divine fist, who had moved to a safe zone, confirmed his opponent and frowned.

“Sword King, Saber Sovereign. Even you two…”

Those who were once friends and comrades-in-arms.

The number one sword of Wudang and the greatest master of the Hebei Peng Clan.

They were now blocking him as his enemies.

“Halt.”

The single shout of the divine fist, filled with majestic Buddhist law.

If it were someone who was ordinarily brainwashed and whose reason was suppressed, they would have come to their senses at this sound.

“……”

“……”

But the two did not move at all.

“Amitabha.”

The divine fist groaned as if in pity.

To him, the Venerable Master, who appeared staggering from behind, said.

“It’s useless. Their souls have already been completely suppressed.”

“Who are you, donor?”

“Your master.”

“Amitabha…”

The divine fist’s hand habitually searched for his prayer beads, but there was nothing in his hand.

Instead, he made a half-bow with his empty hands and said.

“I do not know what your identity is, but please stop your wicked deeds immediately. Born as a human, do you truly not know the end of those who follow evil?”

At the divine fist’s words, the Venerable Master smirked.

“I wondered who you were…. It seems you were originally a clergyman.”

“……”

“Well, alright. Whatever your past was, what’s important is that you are mine now…”

“What are you talking about?”

“I mean, listen to me obediently.”

And a terrifying magic power emanated from the Venerable Master’s staff.

That magic power instantly enveloped the divine fist and tried to swallow him.

But….

“Hap!”

As expected of the greatest master of Shaolin.

The moment he emitted his power, the evil-warding Buddhist law protected his body from the wicked things.

The Venerable Master sighed at the sight.

“The loss…. is not insignificant.”

“Donor. If you do not stop even now, this monk will be forced to break the precept against killing…”

“Enough. I don’t particularly want to hear any more.”

And the Venerable Master ordered the remaining two.

“Go and subdue him. I need to re-leash the dog that has been let loose.”

The moment they received that command, the two undead.

No, the two absolute masters of the Murim who were once called the Sword King and the Saber Sovereign, rushed forward.

“Haap!”

The divine fist extended his hands towards the two.

The three masters, who were once called by absolute titles in the Murim, clashed on a land with which they had no connection at all.

* * *

A few days after the fierce battle at Dragon Land.

“Master.”

The one who came to find the Venerable Master at the black mages’ stronghold was one of his trusted direct disciples.

“Is it Pride?”

“Are you feeling better?”

“Unfortunately, I am not.”

The Venerable Master was sitting on the throne he usually sat on, but tubes were stuck all over his body, and through those tubes, medicine to treat him was constantly being supplied.

No one could say he was in a normal state.

“…The damage at the last moment was too great.”

The Venerable Master sighed and recalled that time.

The damage suffered in the battle at Dragon Land was beyond words.

Of course, since they were fighting a war against the dragons, there was no way there would be no damage.

But that much damage was expected.

Losing about half of the black mages while directly facing the dragons was an unavoidable sacrifice.

The real damage occurred after that.

Suddenly, the Outer God in the sealed land opened his eyes, and his magic power was disturbed.

Because of that, the divine fist of Shaolin escaped his control.

Although he managed to capture and restrain that divine fist again, the damage was terrifying.

The remaining black mages’ forces also suffered considerable damage, and above all, the other two retainers also suffered immense damage.

‘Was it Sword King, and Saber Sovereign?’

Although he had received them from the Outer God, he didn’t know their names.

He had thought of calling them Number 1 and Number 2 if needed, but he didn’t know if they had such names.

Anyway, they had succeeded in capturing the divine fist by attacking 2 against 1.

But….

‘The damage suffered in the process is too great.’

Compared to the divine fist who charged with a desperate resolve, the two had to be faithful to the command to subdue him.

That difference brought about immense damage even under the favorable condition of 2 against 1.

Of course, the divine fist also suffered immense damage.

He was recovering them now, but it would take quite a lot of time to get all three moving again.

So….

“For the time being, I will postpone the grand plan and focus all my efforts on healing.”

One step forward.

He only had to take one more step, but a brake was applied.

It would be a lie to say he wasn’t disappointed, but it was much better than failing due to haste here.

‘I must be fully prepared.’

“I will focus on recovery for the time being. Pride.”

“Yes. Master.”

“While I am away, you will be my representative and lead the group.”

“I understand. Master.”

And the Venerable Master leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.

‘Let’s not be impatient. Just a little more. Just a little more…’

Anyway, they had exterminated the dragons and achieved their original purpose.

The plan was proceeding smoothly.

But there was still a question.

Why on earth?

Did the Outer God in the sealed land open his eyes?

Although it was just for a moment, the Outer God and he could tell.

Although it seemed to have calmed down again now, at that moment.

The Outer God’s seal had definitely been shaken.

‘Why on earth? No, who?’

The more he thought about it, the more he couldn’t understand.

To provoke the sleeping Outer God?

What kind of madman would do such a thing?

* * *

“Wow, I really am a madman.”

Well, that was true.

But why?

“Oof, to say such an unlucky thing? If Master had heard, he would have disowned me.”

Well, for a person who was even called a Great Master in the Orthodox Faction, to have words like ‘The Heavenly Demon Descends, Ten Thousand Demons Bow in Submission’ come out of his mouth.

If others had heard, he deserved to be cursed.

“I shouldn’t do it anymore. This is why I think it’s right not to do what adults tell you not to do.”

He had just said the words.

But at that moment, hadn’t the seal that was sealing the Outer God shaken greatly?

The tension at that time was really….

It was a thrill that ranked within the top three of all the things Patrick had experienced since being born in this world.

Although it was for a short moment, Patrick’s senses had sent out the highest level of danger signal ever.

It wasn’t even to that extent when he faced the White Tiger in this world, nor when he met his death at the Falling Phoenix Sect in his past life.

“Well, as for what happened, the old Pontiff said he would investigate it separately…”

Naturally, after that, Patrick and the Pontiff hurriedly left the sealed land.

And the Pontiff urged him to keep today’s events strictly secret, and saying he had to look up past records, he shut himself in the library of the Vatican with a large number of priests.

And Patrick….

“Ah, this is comfortable. This is true rest.”

He was lounging around very leisurely.

Very, very leisurely.

“Hey. Perios.”

“Yes. Did you call, Grand Young Master Patrick Schneider?”

“Oh, right. I’m thirsty. What was it? Holy Wine? Divine Wine? Anyway, bring me another bottle of that.”

At Patrick’s words, Perios showed his displeasure.

“Um, Grand Young Master Schneider.”

“Hmm? Whyyyy?”

“Divine Wine is a sacred alcohol used in important religious ceremonies and cannot be drunk carelessly.”

The Divine Wine, which was slowly aged while priests took turns infusing it with divine power during the brewing process, was an important….

A very important ceremonial alcohol, with only twelve bottles produced a year.

However, seven of those important bottles were already rolling on the floor.

Perios squeezed his eyes shut at this sight and said.

“Any more is impossible.”

“Really? I see. So it’s not possible.”

“Yes. Please understand…”

“Keoheok!”

“Grand Young Master Schneider! Why, all of a sudden…”

Perios was terrified, seeing Patrick suddenly cough up blood.

At that, Patrick, with a suddenly pale complexion, wiped the blood and said.

“No, it’s nothing. Just an internal injury I got from being hit by someone recently…. Keoheok!”

“……”

Perios’ face trembled.

“Cough. Cough…. If I drink the Divine Wine…. Cough…. If I drink one more bottle, I think I’ll get better… Keoheok.”

“Um… um, Grand Young Master Schneider?”

“It’s fine. It’s such an important alcohol, I can’t just drink it… Keoheok! can I.”

“……”

“Although I noticed the crisis of the Holy Theocracy and, in a poor situation where no one recognized me, I tried my best in every way to save His Holiness the Pontiff who was brainwashed by a black mage, and ended up in this state after being hit by someone’s fist, but still, Divine Wine? Does it make sense for me to drink such a precious alcohol? Don’t worry about it? Keoheok!”

“……”

“Keoook…. If I die, the culprit is Perio…”

“I’ll bring it.”

Seeing the back of Perios who finally rushed off, Patrick chuckled.

“Where does that punk think he’s holding out? He should have just brought it obediently.”

Twin Dragon Sect’s unique martial art.

Self-Inflicted Blood Vomiting

A divine art that induces sympathy and guilt in the opponent by making one’s face pale by voluntarily coughing up blood.

“It’s a convenient martial art mainly for taking advantage of naive kids.”

[Our sect does not have such a martial art. You punk!]

“Aww. Master, come on, how many martial arts have I created for our sect? If I create it, it’s a legitimate Twin Dragon Sect martial art. Isn’t that right?”

[Cheon, you baaaaastard!]

“I can’t hear you. I can’t hear a thing.”

And he picks up a bottle of Divine Wine rolling on the side and chugs it.

The remaining alcohol is truly sweet.

‘Ahhh. How long has it been since I had a rest like this?’

When I go back to the Duchy, I’ll have to look after the kids’ training and take care of this and that, there’s no end to it.

So for the time being, he planned to just lounge around here, get enough rest, extort everything he could, and then leisurely return to the Duchy.

But it was at that moment.

“Sir Double Dragon.”

“Hmm? What is it, Antorius?”

Seeing the hastily rushing Antorius, Patrick let out a long yawn.

“We’re in big trouble.”

“Oh? Really? Push hard and have a good one.”

“That’s not it. We’re in big trouble.”

“Ah, what is it?”

Patrick said with a very annoyed expression.

Judging by his facial expression, it seemed something big had really happened.

But….

‘What’s it to me?’

This was the Holy Theocracy.

Someone else’s country.

If something big happened here, shouldn’t the people here take care of it themselves?

Why was he coming to me and complaining?

‘Whatever it is, I must completely ignore it. Even if Master appears in my dream and nags me, I must ignore it.’

He hated meddling in other countries’ affairs.

To such a Patrick, Antorius said.

“The Empire has rejected the ceasefire agreement.”

“…What?”

“And they say a 200,000-strong army, led by the Sword Saint, is heading south.”

“……”

Patrick first grabbed the Divine Wine rolling on the floor and then gulped it all down, emptying it.

Then he put the bottle down with a thud and shouted with a face full of all sorts of annoyance.

“Ah, why again?”

He was going to ignore it if it was a minor matter….

This was something he couldn’t possibly ignore.
