Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 195. You Just Have to Wait (2)

The Elven prison.

This place, built to detain criminals who had committed serious crimes against the clan, was the only stone building in the Elven village.

A building made of brick with a door made of iron bars.

Anyone could see at a glance that the purpose of this building was a prison.

Patrick and his companions were locked inside.

And Patrick was….

Zzz… zzz… zzz….

He was sleeping with the most comfortable expression in the world, his head resting on April’s lap.

April was stroking Patrick’s hair with a gentle touch, looking down at him with a pleased smile.

The feelings of his companions watching this scene were….

“I want to hit him.”

“I want to kill him.”

“I just want to stab his neck with a knife once.”

“That’s killing him.”

“Anyway, I want to do it.”

This is how it was.

As his companions threw warm words at Patrick, April raised a finger and shushed them.

“The Young Master is sleeping.”

“Wake him up.”

“But he’s sleeping….”

“I said, wake him up.”

At Isabella’s repeated demands, April whispered in Patrick’s ear as if she had no choice.

“Young Master. Young Master. You must wake up.”

“Huh…? Already?”

Patrick, opening his closed eyes, stretched long and said.

“What? It doesn’t seem like anything’s wrong. Why did you wake me?”

The fact that a princess of a nation, the son of the largest merchant guild master in the east, and a next-generation guardian from the Tower of Truth were glaring at him, thinking, ‘How should we kill this bastard?’, was apparently not a ‘big deal’ in this madman’s dictionary.

Even Matthew and Isabella, who were quite immune to Patrick, felt that this was not right.

Matthew frowned and said with a serious expression.

“Hey. What on earth are you planning to do?”

“Huh? What?”

‘I don’t know anything.’

Matthew felt a surge of irritation at Patrick’s innocent expression, but he held it in.

‘If only he wasn’t better at fighting than me….’

No, he had no choice but to hold it in, but the result was the same, so….

Anyway, Matthew forced himself to calm down and continued.

“Why did you get caught and brought here? You must have had a plan for this, right?”

“Of course I have a plan.”

Yes. Of course.

This wicked man moves so unconventionally that it’s easy to perceive him as a thoughtless person.

But his friend Matthew knew.

‘Surprisingly, this bastard is a methodical demon…. No, person…. No, he’s definitely a demon. Anyway, he’s a methodical guy.’

Although the process and results of his actions are so absurd, most of what Patrick does is planned and executed.

It must be the same this time.

“Then we need to move quickly. We have to do something, whether it’s breaking out of prison or something else.”

To Matthew, who was trying to cooperate actively, Patrick smiled brightly and said.

“Stew.”

“It’s Matthew.”

“Don’t worry. We don’t have to do anything.”

“Huh?”

“To be precise, I’ve already done everything that needs to be done. So….”

Patrick lay down again, resting his head on April’s lap. Then he said with a wicked smile.

“Now we just have to wait.”

“……”

“Kekeke. Just wait a little bit. A very fun and happy event will start soon.”

“……”

“Uhehehehe. This is going to be fun!”

What on earth is this demon planning?

***

The Elven race was in an uproar.

Double Dragon, who had been expelled, had returned.

However, he was caught and detained by the orthodox faction’s Elven Knights.

This news spread quickly among the Elven race.

As if someone was deliberately spreading it.

And many young Elves who heard the news were enraged.

“What is this….”

“He was captured?”

“They say he’s in prison now.”

“No, what on earth happened?”

Many Elves expressed their doubts.

Some of the more hot-tempered ones went directly to ask why Patrick was detained.

The orthodox Elves tried to prevaricate at first, but with the continuous questions, they just answered truthfully.

They said that the expelled Patrick was still staying within Evergreen and had broken his promise, so they had captured him.

They told the truth honestly.

In fact, they even omitted the part about him having a drinking party, so it could be said that they had toned it down to some extent. However….

“Does this make sense? The man who left of his own accord because he was worried about our Elven race being divided broke his promise? Is this believable?”

“And the part about him being captured is also suspicious. They say Double Dragon is beyond the 7-star level, so how could the Elven Knights, who can’t even handle spirits, have captured him?”

“No matter how I think about it, there are too many suspicious points.”

“Don’t tell me those orthodox faction bastards are now lying too?”

“No way…. They are still elders.”

“No, it might be true.”

“No matter how you think about it, there are too many things that don’t make sense.”

“Filthy bastards! Do they think we are fools?”

This is the reality.

Just because the truth is told doesn’t mean it will necessarily be conveyed correctly to people.

There are already a considerable number of Elves in Evergreen who are fascinated by Patrick.

The reformist Elves who had their lost spirits returned to them, as well as the neutral faction Elves who had received the side-effect-free Aura Blessing without any compensation….

Patrick received high support, especially among the young Elves.

And now, that Patrick was unjustly (?) detained at the hands of the orthodox Elves.

The young Elves who had learned Aura Blessing from Patrick were greatly agitated.

Crucially….

“Everyone. This is the tyranny and conspiracy of the orthodox faction.”

The person most fascinated by Patrick.

Elione, an Elven Knight and an object of admiration among the young Elves even before, made her move with determination.

She gathered the young people of the clan and decried the orthodox faction for recklessly detaining Patrick.

In the process, she even took out something she cherished more than her own life.

“Look at this.”

What she took out from her bosom was something so precious she wouldn’t hand it over even if her deceased parents asked for it.

It was a branch of the World Tree.

The branch was faintly emitting life force, and at the end of the branch, a small flower was blooming beautifully.

The other Elves who saw this stared blankly at the branch of the World Tree.

“Ah…. Ah… that’s….”

“I’ve never seen it before. I’ve heard about it, but….”

“It was real. A flower really bloomed on a branch of the World Tree.”

Elione had told those around her that a flower had bloomed on the branch of the World Tree, but she had not easily shown it.

That was because this was too precious to her.

A branch that the World Tree had personally given her after she was appointed as an Elven Knight.

This alone was a treasure more important than her life, and Patrick had made a flower bloom on this branch.

This had become a treasure so precious to her that even speaking of its value was a profanity.

The Council of Elders had also requested that she return the branch for the sake of the clan, but she had firmly refused.

Naturally, the Council of Elders was disappointed.

But on the other hand, they understood.

If they were in Elione’s position, they would not have handed it over either.

Even the Council of Elders could not forcibly make her return it.

That was something the World Tree had personally bestowed upon her.

The ownership belonged entirely to her.

She had now taken out that treasure, which she usually kept hidden and never showed.

To save Patrick Schneider.

“Lord Patrick Schneider is the hope of our clan. Only he can save the World Tree and continue the future of the clan. I invited him for that purpose.”

At Elione’s words, the other Elves also nodded.

They had also heard that Patrick had the potential to heal the World Tree.

In the first place, the reason why Patrick, a human, could stay in Evergreen as a guest was for that reason.

But hearing it in words and seeing the possibility before their eyes felt different.

‘Is it really possible?’

‘Can he really save the World Tree?’

‘It might be possible. No, if not him, then no one else can.’

The trust Patrick had built up with the Elves over time.

On top of that, the public support of Elione, a current Elven Knight with considerable influence among the Elven race.

Finally, the clear evidence before their eyes, the flower of the World Tree.

All of this ignited a fire in the minds of the young Elves.

“We must save him.”

A spark had been lit. And that fire quickly began to spread.

“We must get him out safely before the orthodox faction does anything foolish.”

“Without him, the death of the World Tree cannot be stopped.”

“Everyone, rise up! Let’s do what is necessary for the future of the clan and for justice.”

“That’s right. We cannot accept the decision of the incompetent Council of Elders, which is swayed by the orthodox faction.”

“Agreed!”

Although Elves are gentler than humans, the young Elves still had confidence and spirit.

And spirit can sometimes lead to a rampage.

What happens when a rampage and dissatisfaction build up in an unstable situation like now?

“Warriors of the clan, take up your arms!”

“Let’s save the hope of the clan.”

“Waaaaaaah!”

Rebellion.

Just as planned by the demon chuckling in the prison.

***

The warriors of the Elven race who had turned against the Council of Elders acted quickly.

Elione’s younger brother, Kirioth, led the young Elves and quickly ambushed and captured the elders individually.

“What is the meaning of this?”

“Are you insane? You bastards!”

Naturally, the elders were horrified.

Not only the elders of the orthodox faction but also the elders of the neutral and reformist factions were greatly surprised.

They knew that the younger generation felt dissatisfied, but they had never imagined they would do something like this.

Looking at the tightly bound elders, Kirioth said.

“Everything is for my sister…. ahem, for the future of the clan. We can no longer stand by and watch the incompetent Council of Elders.”

“Does that make sense? The Council of Elders aside, we are the chieftains of our respective clans. Do you not know what this means?”

“……”

“Warriors of other clans are imprisoning us? It would not be strange if a war broke out between the clans! Your actions are causing a division in the Elven race!”

Another young man who appeared from behind Kirioth answered the elder who was shouting with veins popping on his neck.

“That won’t happen, so please rest assured.”

“You… you are….”

The elder’s eyes widened.

And for good reason….

“Brutus, how could you too….”

“……”

Because the one who appeared there was his own son.

For a moment, Brutus felt a sense of déjà vu, as if he had heard this somewhere before.

But he quickly forgot about it and spoke to his father, the representative of the Water Dew clan.

“It is for the future of the entire Elven race. Father.”

“You foolish boy…. Do you even realize what you are doing?”

“Father, in a crisis where the future of the clan is at stake, the Council of Elders remains silent and incompetent, only wasting time with meaningless discussions.”

“What does a young boy like you know about politics to say such things?”

“I may not know what politics is, but I know that the current Council of Elders is doing wrong.”

“What did you say?”

“What motions have been passed by the Council of Elders in the last few years?”

“……”

“As I recall, the last decision was to pull out and move the old tree at the west entrance because it was in the way, four years ago.”

“Uhm….”

At his son’s point, the elder bit his lip tightly.

Although there was a sense of frustration and injustice, it was true that the Council of Elders had not been functioning properly.

Of course, as a member, he felt wronged and had many excuses, but excuses are just excuses.

They cannot correct a wrong outcome.

Looking around, he could see that not only his son but also many young Elves from the same clan had risen up.

‘Was it this bad? Were we this wrong?’

To him, who was sighing, his son said.

“I do not wish to be rude any longer. Please cooperate quietly.”

“…Alright.”

After imprisoning another elder like that, Kirioth asked the Elf next to him.

“How many elders have been subdued so far?”

“Fifty-two. Among them, thirty are from the orthodox faction, twenty are from the neutral faction, and two from the reformist faction are also included.”

“Imprison them all, regardless of faction. We must first subdue the Council of Elders.”

“Yes, sir!”

“Good. Let’s move quickly!”

Thus, the young people of the clan quickly detained the elders.

It was a swift coup d’état, but there was one problem.

300 is too many.

“What? A rebellion?”

“Are they crazy? Have the young reformist bastards finally lost their minds?”

“They have been completely tainted by the human. These foolish fools!”

It was practically impossible to subdue 300 people who were scattered all over at once.

If the rebels had truly intended to subdue all the elders, they should have chosen the day of the Council of Elders meeting, prepared thoroughly in advance, and subdued them all at once.

But, as they say, he who has done it knows best….

The Elven race was ignorant of rebellion.

It can’t be helped.

In the long, long history of the Elves, this was the first rebellion.

In the first place, the characteristics of the race are too gentle.

Unless a being sufficiently evil, vile, and cunning gently enticed them and skillfully sowed discord, the Elven race would not have rebelled.

***

“Achoo!”

“Do you have a cold? Young Master?”

“No, I think someone is talking bad about me….”

***

“Block them!”

“Yes, sir!”

Unlike the elders who were subdued in a surprise attack while defenseless, the elders who heard news of the rebellion quickly gathered the warriors under their command and confronted the rebel army. However….

“Step aside! I do not wish to harm my own clan!”

Kirioth shouted bravely and stepped forward.

His opponent flinched at his momentum, but….

“What are you doing? Block the enemy!”

“Yes, sir!”

When the order came from behind, they all shot their arrows at once. As the order was paramount….

“Foolish….”

Kirioth clicked his tongue and stepped forward.

Dozens of arrows flew at him, but there was no need to back down.

The true power of Elven archery comes when it is combined with spirit arts.

Without it, they are just slightly fast and accurate arrows.

Even among humans, those called master archers can do this much. Naturally….

Ting, ting, ting, ting, ting!

It posed no threat to Kirioth, who had pioneered the 4-star level and was eyeing the 5-star level.

He swung his spear like a windmill, blocking all the incoming arrows, and rushed forward.

A few more arrows flew at Kirioth as he closed the distance in an instant, but Kirioth dodged them by stepping in a zigzag pattern.

And the moment he completely closed the distance….

“Hap!”

Kirioth’s spear shot out quickly in all directions.

Thwack, thwack, thwack! Thwack, thwack!

“Keok….”

“Kk… ughhh….”

All five of the Elven archers fell.

Fortunately, Kirioth had held the spear shaft upside down and thrust.

He had no intention of killing them in the first place.

But they, struck in the vital points of the solar plexus and neck, were rendered combat-ineffective and collapsed.

“Tsk, getting hurt for no reason by stepping forward….”

“Kirioth, you bastard!”

“All of this is my sister’s instruction, so do not feel too wronged. Elder.”

“……”

The orthodox elder clenched his fists and trembled as he watched Kirioth walk towards him.

In fact, if he wanted to, the elder could fight Kirioth sufficiently.

If only he could use spirit arts.

He was a high-level spirit user capable of summoning a high-level spirit, but in the current situation where spirit arts are forbidden due to the burden it would place on the World Tree, he was no match for Kirioth.

“Do you really intend to do this? You are shaking the very hierarchy of the Elven race to its core.”

“The history of the future will prove what was right. For now, please be quietly detained.”

“Kuk….”

“If you resist, I will have no choice but to be rude.”

The orthodox elder bit his lip tightly.

To suffer such humiliation from a young brat who was no older than his own grandson was simply unbearable….

“Enemy!”

“Attack from the rear…. The Elven Knights are here!”

It was then.

A group with a formidable aura appeared from the rear of the rebel army.

It was the orthodox elders and the Elven Knights who followed them.
