My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 541: Chapter 342: So the Highest Realm of an ”Infrastructure Maniac” Is Physical Sanctification

Classical Alchemy also needed to keep up with the times, integrating with modern technology to innovate and bring forth the new.

Besides, Erin already had some ideas and was researching the subject tirelessly, so Li Xiang didn’t bother to set up an extra power source for her.

Li Xiang crafted some Protective Talismans for his precious daughter, Aurelie. They were all lightweight Gold Ornaments, using only a small amount of gold, similar to the ones he had made for his grandmother, and they had the effect of ensuring one’s safety and health. He made them lighter because his daughter was a newborn and quite delicate; he was afraid they would be too heavy for her.

Li Xiang certainly wouldn’t favor one over the other. He also went to visit Chiba Yuki and helped her prepare her underground base. It had already been initially constructed and decorated inside Mount Fuji, but Li Xiang felt it could be expanded even further.

He extended the mountain base all the way to the edge of Mount Fuji’s magma lake, where the geothermal heat was more than enough to power it.

Moreover, Chiba Asatsuyu, Shikigami Red Wisdom, Jintongzi, and the others all possessed the Fire Superpower.

As for the electricity problem, he went straight to the Self-Defense Forces and stole a large, newly-built warship that hadn’t even been launched yet: a 30FFM Mogami-class frigate. It had a standard displacement of 3,900 tons, a full-load displacement of up to 5,500 tons, and was equipped with an MT-30 gas turbine.

This gas turbine was an improved version based on the Rolls-Royce Trent 800 aero-engine technology. Eighty percent of its parts were interchangeable with the original aero-engine, representing the most advanced level in Europe and America.

Its rated power was a staggering 36 megawatts, with a peak output that could reach 40 megawatts. Converted to horsepower, that’s approximately 48,000 to 50,000 hp (1 megawatt ≈ 1,330 horsepower).

It could use different types of fuel, including heavy fuel oil, and was already in use on large warships such as Great Britain’s Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers (two units per ship) and the Beautiful Country’s Zumwalt-class destroyers (DDG-1000). It could simultaneously meet the needs for both mechanical propulsion and power generation.

However, China’s domestically produced GT400 and CGT40 gas turbines had a rated power of 42 megawatts alone. The reason the Type 055 destroyers were so fast was closely related to the fact that China’s domestic marine gas turbine technology had surpassed others. After all, the engine is the heart, the source of power. As for why the domestic gas turbines had surpassed others, it was naturally because they drew upon the strengths of many, absorbing the advantages of all parties before innovating. They weren’t just developed from scratch.

But there was no way Li Xiang would take an advanced, domestically produced gas turbine and give it to his Little Book lover. If anyone found out, he’d be flamed to oblivion. Stealing one from their Self-Defense Forces, however, was a different story.

Chiba Yuki was a little worried they would face retaliation, but surprisingly, the incident didn’t cause any waves at all. Only a single news report was released, stating that the warship project was canceled because certain technical difficulties had not been overcome and it was unsuitable for use in the Apocalypse. The matter was simply dropped.

Chiba Yuki: ”...”

Li Xiang also built an underground fuel depot for her. All he had to do in the future was visit periodically to refill it.

Chiba Yuki’s base wasn’t large, so the power provided by a single frigate was more than enough.

As for the rest of the interior decorating, Chiba Yuki hired some construction workers, and with her Shikigami assisting, there were no problems.

Li Xiang also gave the Celestial Cloud Sword to Chiba Yuki, since it was a Japanese artifact to begin with. Besides, Li Xiang didn’t particularly like using swords; he preferred a staff.

During the days Li Xiang was there, Chiba Yuki was the picture of tenderness, using every skill she had to please him.

When it was time for Li Xiang to leave, Chiba Yuki, Chiba Asatsuyu, and Chiba Yukigiri were all extremely reluctant to see him go. But they knew it was impossible to hope for him to stay. Li Xiang had too much to do, and they were content enough that he could visit every now and then.

In his previous life, the country had already begun constructing the Moon Base at this time.

But in this life, with the knowledge that the Apocalypse was imminent, the plan had been canceled.

’If we can’t even stay on Earth’s surface, what’s the point of going to the Moon?’

Li Xiang, however, had come to the Moon all by himself.

At this moment, the Moon was home to several of China’s probes, as well as the Queqiao relay satellite, which provided Earth-Moon communication services and data transmission from the far side of the Moon.

Li Xiang hadn’t come up here alone because he was bored; he was on official business.

He didn’t need a spacecraft; he had flown here himself. After he reached the Saint Tier, his Spiritual Power had deepened, and his Endurance had risen accordingly. He could fly at an Extreme Speed of Mach 40 for over ten hours without resting.

Although the distance between Earth and the Moon fluctuated slightly with their orbital positions, the average distance was about 384,400 kilometers. It took Li Xiang about eight hours to reach the far side of the Moon.

The term ”Mach” doesn’t really have a strict physical meaning in space. Perhaps using kilometers per second would be more appropriate.

Here, with his power alone, he was to build a Moon Base and a radio telescope array codenamed ”Candle Dragon.” The main purpose of this deep-space array was to serve as an outpost to monitor for abnormal gravitational waves outside the Solar System, allowing for early prediction of the Black Mist Star Realm’s location and the invasion of Space Exotic Beasts.

The process of Li Xiang building the Moon Base was, of course, broadcast live to the entire world, causing a global uproar.

People from all nations were filled with endless shock and envy.

”Damn it! China’s gotten even more incredible. They were already the only ones on Earth with the ability to build a Moon Base, and now with the Armored Man, they’ve accelerated the process.”

American netizens (in the CNN comments section):

”This is basically cheating! They don’t even need a space shuttle, he just flew to the Moon in person? The White House is still arguing over the budget while the Chinese already have a ’Superman’ building a villa on the Moon!”

”The FBI should investigate if that Armor stole our tech! (21k likes, Reply: Wake up, your SpaceX rockets have already blown up three times!)”
