My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 506: Chapter 331: Saint Tier! ”Void Divine Travel: Celestial Star Orbit

But the western regions already suffered from water shortages, so what was the solution?

These eighteen reservoirs, besides storing water for current use, could also collect floodwaters when the great flood eventually arrived. This was because Li Xiang and his team had not filled them completely, leaving them only about half full.

Then, at the locations of the eighteen reservoirs, Li Xiang constructed numerous channels elevated above the water level. These channels were useless for now, but when the torrential, unceasing rains of the coming summer arrived, they would serve to mitigate flooding by diverting the excess water into the reservoirs.

In the future, during the Apocalypse, when these ”great reservoirs” froze over, the people of the Underground Cities in that region could harvest the ice for their needs.

It was a feat of divine craftsmanship, truly awe-inspiring.

Around the reservoirs, Zhao Xueqing was leading a special ecological restoration team, scattering camelthorn seeds across the damp slopes of the dams. Wherever her faint green Spiritual Power swept, drought-resistant vegetation sprouted at a visible rate, weaving a living net to break the wind and hold the sand in place.

A few sand lizards tentatively touched the new blades of grass, only to be scared back into their burrows by the rising water.

Infrared images transmitted by surveillance satellites revealed the eighteen super-reservoirs, each over eighty kilometers in diameter, shimmering like blue sapphires set into the earth.

Such an abundant strategic water reserve was enough to meet the needs of two to three hundred million people in the water-scarce regions of the Northwest and Huabei for roughly twenty years of the Apocalypse. If water levels dropped in the future, Li Xiang could replenish them with ice from other places, like Lake Baikal and other great rivers. And if he had the time, he could expand the reservoirs even further.

More than a year flew by. The immense project had tempered Li Xiang, and his gains were substantial. He went into seclusion at home to consolidate his insights from the past year, and finally, on the night of a full moon, he decisively broke through to the Saint Tier!

Inside his body, the eighteen Spiritual Power Vortexes he had once formed merged into one, transforming into a ”Spirit Pool”—a pool of liquid Spiritual Power.

If measured by the old system, this was equivalent to Tier Nineteen.

Li Xiang’s ”Extreme Speed” reached a terrifying Mach 30, and his ”Giant Power” hit 250 tons. These figures were a pure result of his Realm advancing; he had not spent any Achievement Points to boost his Attributes.

As his Realm advanced to the Saint Tier, his body could now withstand even greater speed and strength. And since his Achievement Points were plentiful, Li Xiang decided to add some more.

In the end, he raised his ”Extreme Speed” to Mach 40 and his ”Giant Power” to 350 tons. This was the limit of what his body could handle; to advance further, he would need another breakthrough.

A speed of Mach 40 (approximately 13.6 km/s) already exceeded Earth’s escape velocity of 11.2 km/s.

When he had advanced to Tier Fifteen, he had awakened an ”Invisibility” Inscription. Now, upon stepping into the Saint Tier, that Inscription transformed into its second form: ”Group Concealment.”

At the Saint Tier, one could fly with their physical body, soaring freely through the Qingming.

Consequently, Li Xiang’s ”Divine Movement” Inscription evolved into a ”Flying” Inscription, named ”Void Divine Travel: Celestial Star Orbit.”

Li Xiang walked into his backyard and gazed up at the brilliant night sky. The Giant Whale Saint Armor materialized on his body. He took a deep breath, activated ”Void Divine Travel: Celestial Star Orbit,” and shot toward the heavens. In an instant, he had broken through the atmosphere and arrived in outer space!

At the Saint Tier, one’s body became a self-sustaining system—an Impervious Body. They no longer needed to breathe external oxygen to survive.

Li Xiang stretched out his limbs, floating freely in space. The sensation was utterly profound.

He looked down at the Earth below, its blue-and-white curve slicing through the darkness. The silence was absolute. He could clearly hear the blood flowing through his body and the faint, minuscule clicks from his spine as he turned his neck.

He could see hurricanes in the Pacific Ocean forming silver-gray spirals and the auroras over Siberia shimmering like spilled jadeite paint. This was because at Tier Seventeen and Tier Eighteen, he had awakened two more Superpower Runes: ”Thousand-Mile Eye” and ”Beast Taming: Azure Qilin Guide.”

His ”Thousand-Mile Eye” had merged with his previous ”Night Vision” and ”Pupil of Void,” forming a new Great Lifebound Rune named ”Nine Nether Falsehood-Breaking Gaze.”

Meanwhile, ”Beast Taming: Azure Qilin Guide” granted him the power of the ”Celestial Beast Decree” (Imperial Decree over All Beasts). To put it simply, he could forge Soul Contracts with up to one hundred and eight powerful Exotic Beasts and command them.

As for his Otherworldly Warehouse, it was now a cube with each side measuring 524,288 meters. Its total volume had expanded to 524,288 m × 524,288 m × 524,288 m, which was 144,115 trillion cubic meters (approximately 140 million cubic kilometers).

His Earth Vein Perception Ability now covered a radius of one thousand kilometers. His other Superpowers had all improved significantly as well.

Most notably, he could now project his Spiritual Power outward, allowing him to control Spiritual Soldiers from a distance.

With a flick of his finger, three hundred-ton grains of ”Star Sand” shot forth. He had nurtured these grains for a long time, refining them repeatedly with his ”Crystal Gold Armor” Superpower until they had become true Spiritual Soldiers. Their immense weight alone made them incredibly powerful.

Once the three grains of Spiritual Sand were a hundred meters away, he felt his control over them start to wane. This told him the effective range at which he could control Spiritual Soldiers.

There is no air in space, so the three grains of Spiritual Sand moved silently, orbiting him in all directions within a hundred-meter radius.

Li Xiang’s body flickered, and he reappeared tens of thousands of kilometers away. He spotted several mountain-sized Meteors, each hundreds of meters in diameter, and directed the Star Sand to smash into the largest one.

Controlling the Star Sand relied mainly on his Earth Element Superpower rather than his raw Giant Power. Furthermore, in the weightlessness of space, maneuvering it was even more effortless and fluid.
