My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 389: Chapter 261: The Earthly Calamity of Siam: Led by Fragrant Rice to Probe the Spiritual Pivot

After ”settling down” at home for over ten days, Li Xiang grew restless. One night, his figure flickered, and he arrived in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand.

His home was only about a thousand kilometers from Thailand. With his extreme speed of 5.5 Mach, he could get there in just two dashes.

The first dash lasted about seven minutes, bringing him to a wild elephant sanctuary on the Chinese side of the China-Laos Border. There, he visited the little white elephant and its mother, along with the rest of the herd.

The second dash took him from the wild elephant sanctuary straight into Thailand, a journey of just over three minutes.

He had to admit, elephants had excellent memories. The little white elephant and its mother were Extraordinary Spirit Elephants whose intelligence had already awakened, so their recognition was expected. But even the other elephants remembered Li Xiang. Upon his arrival, they all flapped their large ears and raised their long trunks high, letting out clear, joyous calls, as if an honor guard were playing music to welcome him.

Li Xiang wasn’t stingy. He greeted each of the elephants, stroking their long trunks and ears, and personally fed them Spirit Fruits.

He had an abundance of Spiritual Medicine and plenty of palatable fruits. Every elephant got a share, even those without Extraordinary potential.

Of course, the ordinary elephants received Tier One Spiritual Medicine, while the little white elephant and its mother received something of a higher tier.

The little white elephant and its mother were exceptionally talented. They had both already condensed two Spiritual Power Vortexes, becoming Tier Two spirit elephants. Li Xiang sparred with them to check their progress in their Martial Arts cultivation. The two elephants swung their long trunks, executing the Vajra Whip Technique with incomparable might.

If some unlucky beast, like an adult Bengal Tiger, were to attack, it would likely have its tendons snapped and bones shattered with a single lash, with no chance of dodging. This was because the little white elephant and its mother’s ”Whip Speed” was incredibly fast. At times, their trunks left behind afterimages, far exceeding the reaction speed of an ordinary Bengal Tiger.

Of course, most predators wouldn’t provoke elephants. They knew that elephants were thick-skinned, immensely strong, and a difficult hunt that could easily lead to injury, making them poor targets.

The little white elephant’s species name was ”Moving Mountain White Jade Elephant.” Its second awakened Superpower was ”Jade Elephant True Form,” which maxed out its defense—even a sniper bullet couldn’t break through. It could thoroughly say ”no!” to poachers. However, within China, there were basically no poachers, so their daily lives were very happy.

The mother elephant’s species name was ”Silver-tusked Mammoth.” Her second awakened Superpower was ”Silver Radiance Battle Cry.” When activated, her tusks would gather a silvery radiance, glowing brilliantly. Then, she would blast a powerful sonic wave from her trunk, capable of stunning beasts hundreds of meters away. Weaker creatures, including other elephants, would have their internal organs ruptured instantly. For this reason, the mother elephant always made sure to use it from a distance and never in the direction of the herd.

”Now this is impressive,” Li Xiang praised. He was naturally unafraid, standing unshaken within the sonic wave and actually enjoying it. The mother elephant’s admiration for Li Xiang’s power grew. She came over, nuzzled him with her trunk, and invited him to climb onto her back.

With a light leap, Li Xiang jumped up and rode on the mother elephant’s back toward the herd’s gathering place. The little white elephant trotted along behind them, frolicking with pure joy.

After playing with the little white elephant and its mother for about forty to fifty minutes, Li Xiang bid them farewell and departed.

The little white elephant and its mother were sad to see him go.

...

Moonlight filtered through the gaps in the palm leaves of Chiang Rai Province, shattering into mottled silver scales on Li Xiang’s Giant Whale Saint Armor.

Being farther south, Thailand did get snow, but it was infrequent, light, and melted quickly.

It was a moonlit night, the lunar glow as fluid as water.

Li Xiang’s figure was majestic, like a Celestial God descending to the mortal realm. He stood with his hands behind his back on the banks of the Mekong River, gazing at the river of stars reflected on its surface. An earthy yellow light bloomed from his body, and the granite ground beneath his feet parted automatically, like the divine feat of Moses parting the sea.

In a major production area for Jasmine Rice in Thailand’s Kanchanaburi Province, three hundred tons of newly harvested rice, still warm from the sun of the Siam Plain, were sucked through a vacuum tunnel created by Earth Escape and into his Superpower Space from beneath a granary. The granary’s security personnel didn’t notice a thing.

In the past, Li Xiang had always relied on his superior martial strength to just take things by force, which often caused a huge stir. This time, however, with Earth Escape, the process was simply sublime.

He then moved on to other Jasmine Rice production areas, plundering this year’s new crop. He emptied one warehouse after another, not leaving a single grain behind. Of course, he only targeted properties belonging to the wealthy.

In a matter of days, over five hundred thousand tons of Thailand’s newly harvested Fragrant Rice were stolen.

It was a crime of epic proportions. But it was destined to become another cold case, joining the long list of previous unsolved incidents.

While using Earth Escape near the ruins of the Sukhothai Ancient City, Li Xiang’s Earth Vein Perception Ability detected something. About seven hundred meters underground, there was a Purple Jadeite Ore Vein, winding like a great subterranean serpent. A strange energy throbbed faintly within the vein, like a human pulse.

Strange Sanskrit Talismans would occasionally seep out from the cracks between the crystals. If Jiang Cai’Er had been there, she would surely have been able to decipher their meaning. But Li Xiang had never studied such things, so he naturally had no idea what they said.

But it didn’t matter. ’It probably can’t cause much trouble anyway.’ Li Xiang assessed the ore vein’s energy and felt confident he could handle it. If it were too dangerous, he would have bolted at the first sign of trouble.

The earthy yellow light enveloping Li Xiang flared, and he submerged himself, heading toward the ore vein.

The moment he touched the surface of the vein, a demonic snake crawled out from within it.

This demonic snake had nine heads and eighteen eyes. Its dark snake eyes were like poisoned jadeite, and its scales had the purplish-black, oily sheen of opium paste. A trident fragment was coiled at the tip of its tail, dripping a corrosive slime that burned wisps of smoke into the ground.

A system prompt appeared: ”Tier Three Mutated Creature detected: Naga Snake Demon.”

’This is a Naga Snake Demon? So ugly! And it’s only Tier Three, yet it’s acting all high and mighty. Who’s it trying to fool?’
