Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Based on his own experience in clearing instances, Wu Chang discovered that accelerating the progression of the main storyline actually doesn’t increase the difficulty of the instance, but rather makes it easier.

It’s a simple logic; the time limit preset in the instance is actually closely related to the plans of the instance boss.

Accelerating the main storyline may leave players with less preparation time, but just as the players have no time to prepare, neither does the instance boss.

Though players are in the plane for a short time, making preparation not significantly different, it’s a different story for the instance boss. Advancing the incident by just a few days or even hours can cause the boss’s years of preparations to be in vain.

This rapid attack strategy has proven effective in many past instance clearings.

Such a straightforward principle is actually quite easy to understand upon reflection.

As for why other players don’t do this, it might be because they’re not as diligent as him.

After all, Wu Chang has gotten to where he is today purely by his talent and hard work.

Upon seeing Cui Chengze with a plan, which was related to his reincarnation task, he felt very eager yet still maintained a composed demeanor as he asked:

”What’s the method to leave the Shipwreck Belt early?”

Unlike Wu Chang, Cui Chengze wasn’t as dramatic and excitedly said:

”Everything in this world conforms to the Power of Origin. The Shipwreck Belt can trap ships not because, as people speculate about the Bermuda Quadrilateral, it lies between layers of parallel worlds or some alternate space, but because the entire Shipwreck Belt region is actually a massive natural Mysticism Ritual!”

”It’s just that it internally forms a self-sustaining cycle, with no energy leaking out, making it hard for ordinary Mysticism scholars to sense anything or interact with the energy within.”

At this point, Cui Chengze tightly gripped the Secret Technique Trial Badge and continued:

”But you’re different. You can directly touch the Mystical Origin, not among ordinary Mysticism scholars. Your method of absorbing mystical energy is enough to affect or even disrupt the balance within the Shipwreck Belt’s mystical cycle.”

”I just need to set up a larger and more potent Mysticism Ritual according to the ritual on this badge. Once we activate the array, we can temporarily drain all mystical energy around the Star Jump, creating a gap in the Shipwreck Belt.”

”Once the gap forms, the Star Jump will automatically escape through it!”

Wu Chang listened, nodding nonchalantly. From a logical and theoretical standpoint, Cui Chengze’s method seemed feasible.

Even if it fails, taking a step back, it wouldn’t have any impact, so it was worth trying.

”How long will it take to set up the Mysticism Ritual?”

Cui Chengze looked at the Secret Technique Trial Badge and estimated, ”To decipher the ritual in the emblem, I’ll need at least three days. Modifying the ritual will take a day, and setting it up will only take one day if all goes well.”

Wu Chang frowned and asked, ”What if things don’t go smoothly?”

Cui Chengze said solemnly, ”If things don’t go smoothly, we’ll have to be prepared for a direct confrontation with the New Cosmos Sect. Setting up a large ritual requires accessing many crucial areas within the ship. Right now, the Star Jump is under their control, so it will be difficult for my actions to go unnoticed.”

Wu Chang pondered for a moment and said, ”Let me think of a way to gain control over the Star Jump. You don’t need to worry about that. Just focus all your efforts on interpreting the Mysticism Ritual on the badge.”

Cui Chengze nodded and said, ”I’ll do my best.”

Holding the Secret Technique Trial Badge, Cui Chengze left Wu Chang’s study, scratching his head halfway through.

Wait, he originally came to teach Wu Chang the fundamentals of Mysticism, yet he ended up not teaching any of his part and instead left with this assignment that he needed to study.

Never mind; achieving the purpose is what mattered. He enjoyed learning more than teaching anyway.

The first night of the Star Jump entering the Shipwreck Belt was destined not to be peaceful.

After an entire day of Ghost Wall occurrences and then encountering the Ghost Ship, the Sea Song, which had been missing for two years, everyone on the ship was extremely tense.

Many people experienced nightmares in which they heard indistinct whispers, as if they saw something horrifying in their dreams.

But upon waking up, they couldn’t remember anything about the dream, just feeling extremely low in spirits, with their whole bodies aching as if they’d run a marathon around the deck all night.

This lethargy and depression didn’t just affect ordinary passengers, even the outstanding followers of the New Cosmos Sect woke up with dark circles under their eyes.

Their daily morning prayers on the fourth deck became lackluster and weak.

Wu Chang noticed all this; he knew something had happened to everyone. Last night, the calls from the depths of the sea grew louder, requiring him to focus even more to shut them out.

Even someone with both inspiration and will over a hundred was affected, so naturally, the ordinary passengers couldn’t be unaffected.

Whether this influence was part of the New Cosmos Sect’s plan, however, he still needed to observe further.

As an instance native, especially a cool and aloof financial oligarch, he couldn’t act too rashly before the situation became clear.

So, he sent everyone except Cui Chengze to various tasks, keeping surveillance or gathering information, while he himself went to the bar on the fifth deck of the Star Jump, leisurely drinking like a hidden NPC in an instance, waiting for someone to take the bait.

It was now the second day into the Shipwreck Belt, and people hadn’t realized yet that entering the Shipwreck Belt was merely moving from one smaller Ghost Wall to a larger one.
