Reborn at Boot Camp: General, Don’t Mess Around!

Chapter 4989: Sly Old Fox

Major General Yang, who was pushed back in, wasn’t angry. This wasn’t the first time he encountered a party that wanted to snatch someone from him. Two years ago, the navy wanted to do the same.

But what happened after that? Look, Ye Jian was still in the army. If the other party had succeeded, she would’ve been in the navy.

Commander Kong knew when to yield and when to stand tall. He didn’t care about his old classmate’s mockery at all. In order to keep Ye Jina, he was willing to go all out. “Scoundrel? You’re always saying things that I don’t understand. Hurry up and go in. Don’t waste my time.”

He pushed Major General Yang into the tent again and hurriedly went out to look for Commander Xia.

Although this experiment was focused on air defense and was mainly about the deployment of the air force military unit, the army also had an aviation regiment. Naturally, the army attached great importance to it.

Therefore, other than the chief of the navy, the chief of the air force and the army were all present.

Commander Xia was in the tent earlier, but he was invited to return to rest as he was still recovering from a cold. In the end, although he wasn’t in the tent, he didn’t get to rest.

The air force commander walked over with familiarity. Commander Xia was drinking his medicine under the guard’s watch. Before he finished his medicine, Commander Kong walked in.

This was the experimental command center. It was about three kilometers away from the experimental center. It was even farther away from the explosion point. The people closest to the explosion point were Captain Lei and the rest.

It was already in the middle of the night. Commander Kong didn’t beat about the bush and directly explained his purpose for coming. Commander Xia handed the white pills in his hand to the guard and sighed. “The air force asked to borrow people from me, and I complied. You must’ve been impressed by the soldier. If not, you wouldn’t have come over tonight.

“I won’t say anything else. You wanted to borrow people, and I lent them. Now that you’ve borrowed them, you still want to keep them? Old Kong, Old Kong, don’t you think your infamy has spread enough?”

Commander Xia was more eloquent than Major General Yang. He had just started speaking, but Commander Kong could already feel that he wasn’t easy to deal with.

“Commander Xia…” Commander Kong wanted to complain. He wanted to use his emotions and reason. Unexpectedly, Commander Xia didn’t cooperate with him. When Commander Xia raised his head, he waved his hand to stop Commander Kong.

“You can go to the air force headquarters and complain to them. That’s your base. As the commander-in-chief of the army, why do I have to listen to you, an air force division commander, complain. As the saying goes, dirty laundry shouldn’t be aired in public. If you complain to me about your air force in front of me, I’m afraid that the next time I meet the chief of your headquarters, he’ll glare at me until my skin is riddled with holes.”

Commander Kong touched his forehead and sighed in his heart.

It was said that Commander Xia of the army was a sly old fox. He looked easy to talk to, but it was extremely difficult to gain any advantage from him. He had seen it for himself today.

The words ‘dirty laundry shouldn’t be aired in public’ made him speechless.

“Since you want to borrow her for two days, you can have her for two days. I’ll let my soldier experience and learn from you. Don’t think about anything else. It’s useless.

“She’s a talent. She needs to stay in my military unit. No matter how good she is, she’s not your soldier. Rest early and don’t dream too much. You’re not young anymore. Don’t dream too much so that you won’t hurt yourself.”

Commander Kong, who came in high spirits, left in defeat. Commander Xia sent him back to the tent politely. Commander Xia could finally avoid the guard’s nagging and return to the tent openly. He also found his future in-law, Chief Engineer Fu, to ask if everything was going smoothly.
