Death… And Me

Chapter 4043: Happy Meeting

Hex laughed and walked in front of the Wisp. ”Hi, Zuninho. Is Clova around? Don’t worry, these two are good friends of mine.”

”Oh, Senior Hick!” Zuninho’s attitude immediately changed. ”Of course! If your friends had told me from the start they knew you, I would absolutely not have held them here.”

Then, Zuninho connected to the residence’s formation, opening the entrance for everyone.

Hex, or Hick, turned to Rean and Kentucky, asking. ”So, are you coming?”

Rean and Kentucky were obviously doubtful. The truth was that they had already sent a thousand questions to Hex through Divine Sense, but Hex didn’t answer a single one, as if he couldn’t even hear their Divine Senses. ”What are you planning?”

Hex didn’t answer again, just walking inside. ”Zuninho, if they give up, just close the entrance.”

”Wait!” Rean and Kentucky immediately rushed inside. Only then did Zuninho close the entrance again.

Rean and Kentucky followed Hex, who kept ignoring them until they arrived at the living room. There, Clova, or Havira, was already waiting for them. Well, waiting for Hex, not Rean and Kentucky. She was just as shocked when she saw those two with Hex. ”This... How did you get here? What kind of connection do you have with Hick?”

Rean raised his hand. ”First, we found you when we were looking at the information regarding the Zentian Marriage thing. You were just behind an Astral Wisp called Lufua. That’s when we found out about you. As for Hex... or Hick, we literally just met him outside the residence. He does have a lot of things to explain, though.”

”How about you tell us about your name? Rean named you Hex all those years ago, but that obviously wasn’t your name,” Kentucky added.

Hex, or Hick, sat on the couch, looking relaxed. He was the only one who didn’t seem to be disturbed by that situation. ”To be honest, I quite liked the Hex name. The Hexagonal Beacon, Hex. That was a fun name, even if it lacked originality. However, Hick is my real name, truly. I had used other aliases before, but there is no need for that at the moment.”

Havira was utterly lost. ”Can someone tell me what is happening here?”

Rean looked at her. ”That is a very good question. We only came here to meet you. Hex- Hick’s sudden apparition took us by surprise.”

Hick smiled. ”Roan, Celis, why don’t you guys come out? Eavesdropping is not a very polite thing to do. Sister Orb can come out as well. This place is secure, I can guarantee that.”

*Zush, zush, zush...*

Immediately, Roan, Celis, and Sister Orb appeared in the room. They weren’t surprised. Since Hick was involved with Soul Gem, they expected him to know everything about the system. ”Speak.”

”Speak what?” Hick asked back. ”I just wanted to see my old friends again. Seems like you guys managed to reach the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm quite fast. The system is working better than I expected. Well, Celis is also there, so that’s a huge bonus of cultivation speed.”

”Stop that!” Rean intervened. ”Do you know all the trouble we had to go through to get back to this cultivation realm? And for what? We are still unaware of the reason for you to bring us here at all.”

”Are you, though?” Hick shrugged. ”You already got Laiana and Xyrath free, so I thought you would have figured things out by now.”

The twins’ group was genuinely stunned. ”How do you know that?! Wait, are Laiana and Xyrath in contact with you?!”

”Oh, absolutely not,” Hick shook his head in response. ”They know nothing about this. In their eyes, they likely believe they are the only ones free. However, my master is able to feel all the Primordial Beasts’ situations, so he knew straight away when those two were freed.”

”Your master...” Roan narrowed his eyes. ”Default?”

Finally, Hick showed a semblance of surprise. ”Oh! So you know about my master’s name. Well, Laiana and Xyrath probably only mentioned him without saying much.”

[Not only your master,] Sister Orb added. [He is also Hyeoumu and Soul Gem’s Master, is that correct?]

”Yeap!” Hick did not hide it. ”Too bad I can’t tell you much about him. I’m in the same situation as Laiana and Xyrath. It’s not that I don’t want to, but I can’t.”

Xyrath and Laiana said the same thing to the twins. Well, was it truly the case for Hick? They didn’t know, nor did they have a way to check.

”Anyway, I’m happy you are doing fine. Keep working hard and get the Primordial beasts free, okay? Alright, that’s all. You can go home now.”

The twins’ group almost exploded. ”YOUR ASS! Do you think we will simply say yes to this? Get us out of this shit bubble right now! We need to go back to Lisan. We have been unable to contact our families for thousands of years already!”

”Sure, I can do that,” Hick nodded.

Immediately, the twins’ group took a step back. ”That easily?”

”Definitely!” Hick continued. ”You will be lost in the Great Void without a chart, but that’s your problem. Oh, by the way, there isn’t a single soul in the Werdlem Empire who knows where Lisan is located.”

Sure enough, there was a catch. ”That’s blackmail!”

Hick didn’t see it that way, though. ”Blackmail? Come on! Rean and Roan were supposed to be dead already. If you were about to die, and I gave you the choice to help me free the Primordial Beasts in exchange for saving your lives, would you not accept it?”

Rean and Roan’s expressions weren’t very good. ”We would...”

Too bad that they couldn’t deny it. Yes, they would have accepted it. That was their only chance. In fact, that was exactly what happened. It’s just that Hick didn’t give them any choices. He simply disappeared after he brought them to the Werdlem Empire. They had to find out about the Primordial Beasts by themselves and by the guidance of the Destiny Attraction of the system.

Hick checked the twins’ group from top to bottom. ”Besides, look at you. You are probably stronger than any Divinity Realm in existence! Sure, you would still struggle like hell against a simple Initial Stage Celestial Realm Expert, but you could actually put up a fight now. That’s the advantage of already having a Peak Celestial Body. You gained a lot here.”

Roan asked directly. ”So you’re saying the sole reason we were brought here was to help free the Primordial Beasts, right?”

”Exactly,” Hick confirmed.

”Then why the hell did you leave us alone?” Roan didn’t buy it. ”Wouldn’t it have been a lot faster if you had actually supported us from the start?”

”It wouldn’t,” Hick ensured. ”Roan, I can’t believe you are saying such a thing. You, who knows the advantages of growing up with the necessary hurdles and experiences. If I had helped you, you would never have reached such a height. At most, you would match the same strength you had back then. That’s not enough.”

”Enough for what?” Roan caught something.

”Ops, I spoke a little too much,” but Hick stopped there. ”You will eventually see it. You aren’t the Lisan Universe Owners for no reason, after all.”

Then, Hick got up, stretching his body lazily. ”I was joking before when I said you could go home. Instead, I’m here because I need your help with something.”

”Ahem...” Havira, who had been silent so far, finally spoke. ”Can someone include me in this conversation? I still don’t know what is happening here.”
