Death… And Me

Chapter 3809: Focus

Central Area of the Divine Realm, Continent of Dritchi, Lamaga City.

This city was a hub with thousands of different Pseudo-Temporal Paths, and one of the most important cities in the Divine Realm, only losing to the Light City, where the headquarters of the Light of the Provider Religion existed.

The so-called Hongel Branch was also found here, and that’s where Rean appeared. Coming out of the platform, Rean saw that he wasn’t the only Light Propagator there. Sure, the majority of the arrivals were from normal experts, but the Propagators made quite a significant number.

”Xenfal!” One of those Propagators noticed Rean, quickly coming to him. ”I heard that you had been sent to the Underworld during the last few years. How was it? You often like to taste ’new dishes,’ if you understand me. Were they good as you expected?”

Rean smiled at the guy. Checking Xenfal’s memories, he found out his name. ”You know me well, Tinbou. While most would feel weird to look into ’devil meat,’ I don’t abstain from new horizons. And I have to tell you, there were some ’really tasty’ ones.”

Although Rean kept the pretence, he felt like killing the guy ahead already. In fact, there were quite a large number of experts Rean wanted to kill in Xenfal’s memories. Tinbou was the same as Xenfal, if not worse. Turns out that D33 wasn’t just a destination for those looking for the perfect lab and test subjects. It was also great if you delved into other activities, like Xenfal.

You just had to sign a contract, which was quite well paid. Then, work for the Empire while pretending to be a Light Propagator. Due to how everyone’s minds worked in D33, all the Propagators had to do was come up with some excuse, and they could have any resident do whatever they wanted in the name of the Light of the Provider. No complaints would be heard.

”That good, uh?” Tinbou’s expression changed a bit, showing the lust hidden within. ”I guess I understand why you volunteered to go there for this surveillance.”

Rean took the chance to ask. ”So, how has it been? Any news regarding the targets?”

Tinbou shook his head in response. ”As if! Brother, the Universe Owner, Kunprio himself, couldn’t capture the culprit for the destruction of that Light Spreader in the Underworld. Do they really think we can find them? Almost two decades already, and there has been no news whatsoever. Whoever did that most likely left this Universe a long time ago.”

Rean, as Xenfal, shrugged. ”I am of the same thought. At least we are getting paid handsomely for these survailances. Anyway, let me give you something... interesting.”

Then, Rean took out a white and black bead from the Dimensional Realm, changing the conversation to Divine Sense. ’Use this before the real action, and you will finally understand the real meaning of pleasure. You will never try anything else.’

Tinbou took the bead, which was obviously some kind of pill. He checked it with his Divine Sense, noticing several different properties and materials used, some of which he didn’t even recognize. ’What is this? A new pill?’

Rean nodded. ’Yes, but don’t use it unless you are going to do the deed. Once you take it, just a few women won’t be enough to satiate you. Of course, if you get yourself in a pickle for some reason after the action starts, just drive your Divine Energy and purge the pill’s effect from your body.’

Tinbou continued to check the pill with his Divine Sense, and he didn’t find anything that could cause harm to his body. ’Hehe! You are a brother indeed. Very well, I will give it a try during my next deployment in the following month.’

Rean faintly smiled. ”Alright, good friend, I need to keep going. The Hongel Branch said I have to report in three days, but I’d better get it done now so I can have some free time. See you around.”

Tinbou nodded, and the two parted ways there. A little over a month later, the world would lose a Late Stage Space-Time Realm expert due to unknown reasons.

Rean came out of the giant room where he arrived, passing by various others with more Pseudo-Temporal Paths. Then, in one of those rooms, there was no Pseudo-Temporal Path open. Instead, he saw several big queues entering a formation, their bodies disappearing one after another. Rean narrowed his eyes, easily identifying what was happening. ’They are accumulating Dead Souls...’

As mentioned before, Temporal Paths are created through sacrifice, and that was exactly what he was seeing. ’Sister Orb, can you do something?’

’She can’t,’ Roan intervened straight away. ’Our objective is to get to the galaxy where the corrupted system core is located, so don’t do anything that could raise investigations. It was already risky to have me make that pill for that guy. Enough for now.’

[Well, as disgusted as I am, I have to agree with Roan. Think about it like this: If we take the core, the Light Spreaders all over the Universe will stop functioning, and the purging of bad intentions and emotions won’t happen again. The living beings of this Universe will eventually recover, and things like what you are seeing will stop.]

Rean sighed and moved forward. He passed by another two of such formations as more and more sacrifices were made. But in the end, he could only ignore it for now.

Once outside the Providers’ Path Building, Rean looked into the distance, seeing a towering palace... No, it looked more like a church, naturally, the Light of the Provider’s Hondel Branch.

That wasn’t what he paid attention to, though. Instead, he was focusing on his Divine Sense Bending Skill. He was using it just slightly. It wasn’t enough to bend anyone’s Divine Senses, but it was definitely enough to feel the Divine Senses’ powers. ’Impressive... I can feel at least fifty Divinity Realm Divine Senses, and those are only the experts using their Divine Senses at the moment. There is bound to be more of them who are simply not with their Divine Senses spread.’

[I told you. Natural Divine Origin Energy in the air. I would actually go even further. Semi-Celestials are basically Divinity Realm Experts with extra perks. There is a good chance one or two of those Divinity Realm Divine Senses are from Semi-Celestials.]

Rean couldn’t help but think about the Lisan Universe. The number of Semi-Celestials there could almost be counted on one hand. Yet, just how many are in this Universe? Considering the number of Level Three Umbras, there were bound to be thousands. And, evidently, they would be much stronger than the Umbras. The twins’ group truly couldn’t afford to start trouble here.

’Focus on your task,’ Roan called Rean out. ’You are Xenfal, and you want to go to that galaxy. Now, let’s go to the Hondel Branch and see what we can find.’
