Death… And Me

Chapter 3805: Higher Level Currency

”Hello, there...” One of the devils who saw the twins’ group emerging from the ground came over. ”Why were you down there?”

Rean looked at him, smiling. This time, they knew the Devils looked a lot better, so Rean and the others’ appearances matched the Devils of this Universe. ”It is a complicated story. Let’s just say our training didn’t go as planned, how about that? Fortunately, things didn’t go as bad as they could have been, praise the Light of the Provider.”

”I see...” Sure enough, the Devil didn’t doubt for even a second. ”Indeed, the Light of the Provider is always present even in the worst moments. By the way, I’m Fulu. Do you need help? I live nearby, and you can clean yourselves there.”

Rean looked at Roan and the other two, who nodded back. They could simply start by asking this guy some information. ”I’m certain it was the Light of the Provider who put you before us today. My name is Rean, and these are Roan, Kentucky, and Celis. Please, let us enjoy your hospitality.”

’I’m going ahead and return to the Dimensional Realm,’ Celis said through Sister Orb. ’I have to use Rean’s Light Element bracelets to hide that I’m not a Devil Plant, but I’m not that good with it. I can feel many Space-Time and even Divinity Realm Divine Senses, so it will be better not to risk being found.’

’Okay,’ Rean, Roan, and Kentucky agreed.

*Zush!*

And so, Celis disappeared.

Fulu saw that, and Rean explained. ”Don’t worry, he just went back to his Pocket Dimensional Realm. He said he will meet us later. Lead the way.”

Fulu nodded and brought the twins’ group with him.

Once in his house, Rean started to ask questions about this place, using the excuse that he had arrived in this city recently and hadn’t had the time to look into the necessary information.

Turns out that this Lotiy City was one of those with Pseudo-Temporal Paths. Let’s not forget that Temporal Paths are the way to travel between Realms without using Spatial Gates or Teleport Formations. It’s just that sacrifices were always used for such.

Rean asked how one could use the Temporal Paths, saying he was curious about the other Realms, especially the Divine Realm, and that he intended to visit soon.

Fulu’s cultivation was only in the Saint Realm, so he didn’t know much about the Pseudo-Temporal Paths since he wouldn’t be able to pay for them anyway. But he did mention the twins’ group could acquire the information they wanted in the Providers Path Branch. That’s how they called the places in this part of the Underworld that dealt with the Pseudo-Temporal Paths.

The name was quite fitting, since the residents of this Universe provided their own lives so those Pseudo-Temporal Paths could be open between Realms.

Rean and the others finished cleaning themselves, which they actually could have done by simply using Divine Energy. Nonetheless, they thanked Fulu, and Rean even gave the guy a few pointers in his cultivation. He wasn’t as good with Dark Element as Roan, but for a Devil of such low level, his insights would definitely benefit the guy tremendously.

Finally, they left Fulu’s house, soon taking flight and going to the city center.

’Sister Orb, what about you?’ Roan asked on the way.

Sister Orb could access this Universe exclusive network, and after getting the information from Fulu, she knew what to look for.

[So, Lotiy City does have a Providers Path Branch. In case you are curious, we are truly damn far away from where we arrived in this Universe. Using that Abyssal Path again will be complicated in the short term. Anyway, from what is said here, the fee to go to the Divine Realm is 1500 Rank Seven Devilish Stones or equivalent in other currency.]

’Rank Seven?’ Rean was taken aback. ’That expensive?’

They did have the stones, divine ones, but that definitely was a lot more than Rean expected.

Of course, Sister Orb explained why.

[Your minds are still focused back in Universe F956. This is a Universe where Divine Origin Energy exists naturally all over the place. If you absorb the Devilish Energy in the air right now, around 30% of it is Origin Energy. That said, do you still think Rank Six Divine Stones is something impressive?]

[I might as well tell you. Rank One and Two Divine Stones pretty much don’t exist. The stones in new mines are almost all at Rank Three when they first form. So, Rank Three is the most common, and they are used by the poorest experts, those at the start of their path of cultivation.]

Rean couldn’t help but sigh. ’And here I thought we were quite rich with our Rank Seven and Eight Divine Stones. I guess it is not worth that much here.’

[Seven and Eight are still worth something, but different from Lisan or the Rank F Universes; those who have these won’t think about them as treasures. Now that I mentioned, you could acquire quite a few of them with your weapons, Rean.]

Rean pondered a bit. ’Would it work? I mean, you saw how the Devils are due to the Banishing Light. Do you think they fight anything at all? Do they need weapons?’

[They do,] Sister Orb confirmed. [Let’s not forget that battle is one of the best ways to improve your cultivation if you get stuck. The Werdlem Empire and the Light Idiots obviously know this. So, they have these special regions that all those on the cultivation path must enter to hone their skills.]

’Let me guess,’ Roan started, ’the Light Idiots put out a bunch of bullshit teachings saying that fast improvement, killing, training, life and death moments, and whatever, are requirements for one to understand the true path of light or something like that. It’s just that it can only be done inside those regions you mentioned.’

[Well, aren’t you a smart boy? Yes, that is pretty much the case. That’s why Universe D33 has so many high-level experts, even though prejudices have been eliminated by the Banishing Light. Everything in the name of the Light of the Provider and bla, bla, bla...]

This Universe is a lab for the Werdlem Empire, where the researchers can test anything they want. Naturally, they would need high-level experts. So, they couldn’t allow the expert from D33 to stagnate.

’Forget that.’ Roan wasn’t interested anymore. ’We need to earn those Rank Seven Devilish Stones. We have Divine Stones, but they are from back in F956. Not only would it look suspicious to use Divine Stones in the Underworld, it might be even worse if they have some way to check from which Universe the stones came from.’

Zangeshu immediately joined the conversation. ’Then let me try to make a few weapons. I want to see how close I can get to Master’s quality.’

Rean intended to do the weapons himself at first, but he had no complaints about Zangeshu doing it. ’Sure. I’ll go to the Blacksmith Guild or whatever organization they have here that works with equipment to check what they need.’

Roan took that chance to go somewhere else, too. ’I need to check a few things. You guys go ahead and acquire the stones.’

With that said, the two sides separated and started their work.
