The Villain's Story

Chapter 720: How to kill a thunder giant(4).

It was shocking, to see Alan die, to them, he was something else, but to the giant, he was simply another dragon that had escaped him far too many times.

In his previous attempts, Alan had not relied on instantaneous teleportation as often as he would have liked. He had attempted to test himself many times against the perilous foe, but he had always survived.

But not this time.

The fragment was no ordinary opponent, it was one of the few species actually capable of killing a dragon, and it knew that a dragon would not die unless the heart was destroyed.

It knew how to kill a dragon, Alan was merely one that had escaped it far too many times. Even his regeneration was helpless now. The source of his power, the heart was gone, He was truly dead.

Well, not truly, as the array would revive him with the help of Arielʼs authority, but it was still a bizarre experience. Especially because everyone saw it. Alexander died, but no one except Abalak saw it...but everyone saw Alan die.

His body split in half and brutally mutilated, his heart crushed in the palms of the giant while everyone watched. He had escaped Kizmal too many times...but not this time.

How had it happened? Why had he died now, but managed to live every other time? Mainly because he was focused on buying time, and not killing the giant and surviving.

Why was survival not his main priority? Because of the information he had gained, He had learnt that death was not the end, and even though he had not experienced it... simply hearing it from others had made a subconscious change. The mind believes whatever it is willing to believe.

It was something he was unaware of himself, but he had gotten lax due to it. That was simply how the mind worked, and it had brought him to his end... and for everyone else?

And it was as if time had stopped, but did not stop. Their minds had stopped working, trapped in shock, after all, it was Alan who had died.

And yet, they could still think. Despite their minds failing to comprehend, or understand their death, they still had a clear goal in mind... to kill the giant.

But that was only the mind, the body refused to listen. The rate of their breathing increased, uneven, short but deep breaths. Their legs lost their strength, their arms began to shake as the grip they had on the giantʼs body weakened.

They gulped, but as much as they tried to move, they failed to move. And the giant dared to laugh, as Alanʼs body and blood fell to the ground.

His cold blood, insignificant in amount when compared to the scalding blue flame like blood of Kizmal, nevertheless made an impact. They could feel the temperature drop even as lightning roared from above. The pure white scales, dyed red with blood, fell to the ground without even making a sound.

Well, even if they did, they probably would be unable to hear them due to the state of their ears...

They were in the worst situation they could be, Two of their heaviest hitters were gone, they failed to deliver a killing blow or even a fatal strike. Whatever damage Supreme Meteor or Raijin had done was insignificant now. The giant had already recovered from it all.

And it was as if... it knew.

It knew how helpless they would be, and so it laughed. Its laugh was like a roar that sent the realm into a frenzy. Everything shook.

Everything shook... but not their determination, or their wrath. The giantʼs laugh had simply reignited their resolve, and thus they were able to move, despite their bodies desperate plea to flee.

The first was Kazikato, and what moved him was wrath. He let out a roar, much like a cry, and ran towards Kizmalʼs neck. He did not even bother to transform back into a dragon. Furthermore, he knew it would be pointless without Alan drawing most of the attention. He was not as fast as Alan, he simply didnʼt have the set of abilities that would allow him to survive.

He knew death was near, and thus simply rushed forward with wrath, boundless energy in the form of shadows and darkness rushed towards him, covering his body... but most importantly his scythe. With tears flowing from his eyes, he covered the distance in the blink of an eye, he was like a fighter jet.

His scythe increased in size, and a door made of skulls and bones appeared in the skies, his seven-star battle technique. A martial technique personally taught to him by Ariel... and unlike Alan, who was unable to use the main element of his seven-star battle art... Kazikato could.

[Iʼm going to do one... major strike. Take care of the rest.]

Those were his final words, his energy exploded forth as darkness and shadows transformed into death and the door of skulls and bones opened.

The second technique of his seven-star battle art... and he was going to use it to itʼs fullest potential, the maximum he could exert. The one that would kill him moments after due to its power.

A black energy escaped from the gate like a hungry dog, and rushed over towards Kazikato, and bound around his scythe, blood leaked out from Kazikatoʼs mouth as he shouted.

”DIE YOU FUCK!”

The giant stepped back, raising his hand to block the scythe, but he could not do so in time, despite it swung with all the force he could muster, it gently cut through Kizmalʼs skin, going all the way down as the world went black.

Everyone lost their vision, and when they regained it. Kazikato was no more. His body had vanished. The second technique was named the Gate of Weakness, and using Death mana to fuel it, using it to the maximum power Kazikato could exert...

He had done it, despite the cost.

He had fatally wounded an epic being.
