The Villain's Story

Chapter [716] Comparison is the end.(2).

Sabrina had finally finished inscribing the rune, it was an arduous process where she had to compress a rune the size of an arm to the size of a finger, by the end of it, she was exhausted.

She had failed a total of twenty-two times, and when she finally succeeded she slumped down in an instant, in disbelief. She was no expert rune master, but this was an accomplishment worthy of the title.

Sadly, she was far too tired to enjoy the achievement. Alan was still sleeping peacefully, ignorant of her condition. She was surprised he was still sleeping so soundly, she had failed the inscription a lot, after all. But she was apparently the only one that had to suffer the backlash.

Being a dragon really had its benefits, well, one of those benefits was helpful to her as well. Alanʼs body was the perfect mattress, not only was he comfortable due to the muscle, but he was cold as well. It was like she was on top of a stiff waterbed.

It really was comfortable.

”Is this weird?”

She asked herself the question that had been weighing on her mind for a while, she really didnʼt know. On one hand, he was asleep, on the other, they werenʼt really strangers. Laying on top of him while tired was not that bad, right?

ʼ...ʼ

She turned around, facing the ceiling of the dark room. There was nothing to see, even if she removed the room it would still be darkness. One couldnʼt expect a magnificent sky inside the body of a dead giant, after all.

The very being they had to defeat in the trial was the incarnation of that giant, albeit much weaker and smaller. Even now, her mind raced on how to defeat that abominable giant, but each time she saw them losing.

Losing in horrible ways, destroying the hearts would be no easy feat, there were too many flaws in the plan, uncertainties she could not stop. Even Sai Laka had a low chance of aiding the team in defeating the giant.

It was simply meant to make them last longer in a fight against them, by boosting their resistance to lightning by five times.

However, Kizmalʼs lightning was out of this world.

ʼI wonder how everyone else is doing.ʼ

Back home, back on Earth, she really wanted to go back, Alan had promised her a ride over the ocean but if she was being honest, he had probably forgotten about it.

She wanted to go on more dates, not challenge a giant the size of mountains, but life is really eventful when your boyfriend is a dragon, apparently.

Sabrina let out a sigh, and stood up, taking a moment to stretch her tired body. After she was done, she gazed at him. His face continuously twitched while he was asleep.

ʼIs he having nightmares?ʼ

Was that the reason behind his prayer, a silly little nightmare? She almost chuckled when she saw that. Although, she removed her smile soon after. If Alan was the one having nightmares, they were probably terrifying, not some silly childhood fears.

He wasnʼt really the type to get scared easily, as well. Sabrina sat down next to him, unsure of whether she should cancel the room now or not. She had done her job, and no longer were they in any suggestive position. She would still have a lot of explaining to do.

She didnʼt dispel it right away, but took some time to stare at Alanʼs face. Furthermore, she didnʼt understand why some people called him ugly. He was fine in her eyes. Moreover, She didnʼt get why every girl back at shield really hated him.

ʼ... Probably because he beat Elijah up really bad.ʼ

That was probably the reason. Almost every girl hated him back in Shield due to how often he was compared to Elijah, and Henry. Most of them really thought they deserved to be higher ranked than him just because they looked better.

Her niece definitely had it in for him, She did not know why she hated him that much. Well, at least her mother didnʼt have any qualms about him.

”...”

And then, she just remembered how much she bragged about their first date to her mother, her face turned red immediately as she thought of that night. She couldnʼt help it, it was something she had wanted to do for eternity, bragging about it was only natural.

However, a bitter memory was of how her mother had responded in kind, and honestly, she could not compete. Her father had apparently hunted down an S-rank monster for her mother, and used the body parts of the monster to make a necklace type artifact, one her mother wore every day.

Their first date was also to Antarctica, to slay one of the monsters that were causing havoc there as well.

”No, mine was better.”

A date to the amusement park was much better than one to a cold continent to slay a monster. With how much her mother boasted about it, she would have thought he hunted every single monster on that continent, but no.

He had only hunted one, an, A rank behemoth type monster that had the ability to control electricity.

”... Wait.”

Suddenly, she realized her parentʼs first date was very similar to the current situation... Albeit this whole adventure was not a date, they were facing a very similar set of events.

”... I find this very disturbing.”

She did, for some apparent reason, but then the memories of the amount of gifts her father had gotten for her mother after that expedition emerged. She pouted for a moment, before looking at Alan.

”Where are mine? All I get is a date?”

It was not a good idea to compare her brilliant father to Alan. She honestly might have had to give him constant reminders and hints for Alan to even compare. It wasnʼt fair, she wanted presents without asking for them too.

”When am I getting a necklace? Any piece of jewelry is fine, you know!”

She started to poke his face, making all sorts of demands with a pout on her face, she didnʼt even realize her room had fallen due to her being depleted of mana and everyone there had been listening for a good five minutes.
