The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2083: Chapter 2083: I Don’t Know (1)

”Xie Tai?” Yang Ruxin was slightly surprised, but quickly regained her composure. Previously, a matchmaker had mentioned Xie Tai to Li Xiang, but back then it was the suggestion of the old lady of the Xie Family, who had arranged for several girls to visit Xie Manor. So, they declined.

She just didn’t expect that the two would get involved now. Perhaps this is destiny.

If she remembered correctly, it was when Aunt Hehua was having twins that Xie Tai happened to come by to give Gu Qingheng the repaired Flower-picking Soft Sword. Then he encountered Aunt Hehua during her difficult labor, and Xie Tai went with him to the Li family. That should have been their first meeting, right?

But later, Gu Qingheng said that the two had a good impression of each other while talking.

However, because of the Yuan Country’s invasion and the outbreak of war, she let go of this matter. Unexpectedly, they had already developed to this point.

In this era, when a man gives a woman something, it can be unpleasantly said to be a private arrangement.

”We just exchanged a few words when my mother was giving birth to my brother, and after that, I never saw him again.” Li Xiang sighed, ”At that time I didn’t take it seriously, I just thought this person looked quite good and seemed very cultured. I didn’t dare have any hopes.”

”But three months ago, he suddenly came to find me, saying... saying he quite liked me, and then he gave me a bracelet. Actually, at that time I was indeed a bit pleased, because he is such an outstanding man. But afterward, I also recognized that this was somewhat strange, so I wanted to refuse because if he really liked me, shouldn’t he have a matchmaker come over? But he said he wasn’t joking. He said at most three months, he would send someone to propose, but now three months have passed, and he hasn’t come.”

Li Xiang tried hard to conceal it, but inevitably, a hint of disappointment flashed in her eyes.

Yang Ruxin sighed. Although Xie Tai was somewhat older and is like an uncle to Li Xiang, he was extremely steady, and that kind of charm was irresistible to young girls. Despite this girl’s strong declaration that she was clear-headed, it was evident her heart had already fallen.

Li Xiang looked up at Yang Ruxin, ”He also said...”

Yang Ruxin raised an eyebrow. Is there a hidden story?

”He said when he was leaving, if he hadn’t sent someone in three months, let me not take it seriously. The bracelet could just be my dowry, and let me do what I should.” Li Xiang gave a bitter smile, ”I don’t understand what he means.”

Yang Ruxin didn’t quite understand it either, but why does it feel like she’s hearing a final message?

”I don’t dare tell my parents. I don’t dare tell anyone else either because even if I told, no one could help me, and it would only worry them. I want to go find him, but I really have no reason to leave for that long to find him. Of course, I also fear that if he was just joking, where would I put my face?”

Yang Ruxin nodded. Xie Tai’s approach was actually beyond reproach. In this era, such a thing is quite normal. A marriage can be decided after just one meeting, and as for happiness afterward, that’s something to discuss later. Some people hadn’t even met before marriage.

”Then what do you want to do?” Yang Ruxin looked at Li Xiang, ”Do you like him?”

”I...” Li Xiang shook her head, blushing, ”I don’t know. The reason he hasn’t come might be... maybe he doesn’t like me. I want you to give the bracelet back to him.”
