The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1467: Chapter 1467: The Truth (7)

Yang Ruxin was startled, and even Peng Qian was dumbfounded.

Ye Jiahui perhaps realized she was a bit too anxious, her little face flushed red, and she appeared somewhat embarrassed.

Yang Ruxin, however, smiled and said, ”Then Miss Ye, tell me, why can’t I leave?”

”Because...” The young girl couldn’t say it.

Yang Ruxin then pushed the young girl aside with a gesture and strode outside.

”Hey...” Ye Jiahui hurried after her but soon found that the other party was moving too fast and had already disappeared, prompting her to stamp her foot in frustration.

Peng Qian knew it was no good to stop Yang Ruxin, so she only called Ye Jiahui inside: ”What exactly happened?”

”Mother, I...” Ye Jiahui was full of distress.

”Speak!” Peng Qian suddenly slammed the table.

”Because Peng Jing is there.” Frightened by the outburst, Ye Jiahui shivered and told the truth.

”Peng Jing? Peng Jing?” Peng Qian raised her voice, ”Why did she go to Jin City? When did she leave? Does it have anything to do with going with madam Gu?”

”She...” Ye Jiahui almost cried, ”Mother, please don’t ask anymore...”

”Ye Jiahui.” Peng Qian’s face grew stern, ”You better not agitate me, otherwise...”

”Mother...” Ye Jiahui knelt down with a thud, and then stutteringly disclosed the truth.

Peng Jing is Peng Qian’s niece. Peng Qian is the eldest daughter in the family, having two younger brothers who both stayed with their father in Jin City. The city recently being besieged by Yuan forces, both brothers died in the battle.

Previously, General Peng Pai had sent the youngest sons of his two brothers, Peng Yang and Peng Xing, to Meng City in the middle of the night to preserve the Peng Family lineage, along with the only granddaughter, Peng Jing.

Peng Jing is the daughter of the older brother and the only girl in this generation of the Peng Family, being extremely cherished and somewhat spoiled.

Though Peng Qian knew her niece was overly indulged, after coming to the Ye Family side, she had been behaving properly, so Peng Qian didn’t restrict her much. But unexpectedly... Peng Jing had fallen for Gu Qingheng?

How could that be?

Gu Qingheng, who had previously stayed in Meng City, was actually accompanying the Crown Prince, with Prince present as well. She just met Gu Qingheng on that occasion and fell in love at first sight?

”I don’t know if Peng Jing likes Gu Qingheng or not, she just said she wanted to find him,” Ye Jiahui pouted, ”She asked me to cover for her...” She paused, ”Maybe she fell for Prince or the Crown Prince too.”

”Nonsense!” Peng Qian trembled with anger. How could there be such a shameless girl? Although the Crown Prince had praised the Peng Family and even filed a memorial, ensuring the orphans of Peng Family would be looked after, it didn’t mean she could do whatever she wanted.

Ye Jiahui shuddered in fear again.

But Peng Qian dared not delay, quickly getting up and leaving to discuss the situation with her husband. News of the plague in Jin City had been suppressed all along to prevent panic. That girl had been gone for five days now... It was her negligence, having been busy with her husband managing the disaster relief, neglecting her household.

Ye Jiahui waited until Peng Qian left, finally letting out a sigh of relief, then hurriedly scrambled up and ran to her courtyard. She had to quickly write a letter to send to Peng Jing, telling her their mother knew she had left and would definitely send someone to fetch her back, so she should act wisely.
