The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1464: Chapter 1464: Token (4)

On the fifth day, a city finally appeared ahead.

”Missus,” Yang Xiong sought Yang Ruxin’s opinion, ”that city up ahead is Yong City. If we keep moving, we can reach Meng City by tonight. Should we enter the city or...”

Yong City? Yang Ruxin glanced at the city gate and then kicked her stirrups: ”Let’s not enter now. We’ll have the chance in the future.”

Along the way, Shadow Seven recounted in detail all that Gu Qingheng had encountered after setting off on his campaign, not even omitting anyone he had come into contact with. Among them was the guard of Yong City, Li Zhaoru, who had boy and girl twins. His daughter, Li Mingyin, was a woman not to be trifled with. It was her collaboration with Gu Qingheng that successfully captured Ji Lin last time.

The group skirted around Yong City and headed towards Meng City.

The further north they went, the more desolate it became. Before reaching Yong City, there were villages from time to time and fields on both sides. But after passing Yong City, there were fewer crops and more barren hills and wastelands, with virtually no villages. However, numerous refugees could be seen.

Because there were quite a few travelers around, Yang Ruxin had previously put Xiaobai and Xiaolun into a space, reasoning that they could be summoned anytime when needed, which was very convenient.

”These are all civilians from Governor’s Office Pass and Jin City,” Shadow Seven’s complexion had been awful since they passed Yong City. ”Governor’s Office City hasn’t been recaptured yet, but Jin City is now in ruins...”

Du Man and Du Juan also had very unpleasant expressions on their faces.

Yang Ruxin said nothing, just urged Zhui Yun on relentlessly. Zhui Yun seemed to understand its master’s urgency, racing ahead with wind-swift hooves. The mounts chosen by Du Man, Du Juan, and Shadow Seven, although they were wild horses from the mountains, how could they possibly outpace Zhui Yun? That was personally selected by Xiaobai.

However, the three of them didn’t fall too far behind, racing swiftly ahead.

They managed to reach the outskirts of Meng City just before nightfall.

”We need to rest tonight,” Yang Ruxin exhaled deeply. Although it was only half a day’s journey from here to Jin City, they had not rested for two days and nights in a row. People could endure, but the horses needed rest, ”We’ll stay at an inn in the city tonight.”

Due to the tumultuous period, the inspection for entering and exiting the city was extremely strict. Although Yang Xiong was a soldier, his identification did not allow him to bring others with him. That was a newly implemented rule; after all, if one was a soldier, they would each have their own token.

However, for the convenience of doing business, Qi Jingyi had given Yang Ruxin a special token. With this token, she could freely enter and exit Prince Jingyi’s residence in Beijing, mainly to ask for help if there were any troubles.

This token was only possessed by a few close guards of Qi Jingyi, so it was not under any restrictions.

At this moment, Qi Jingyi was on the front lines, so Yang Ruxin displayed the token.

But after the token was presented, the soldiers guarding the city surrounded them and did not return the token.

Yang Ruxin furrowed her brows, surprised by this treatment.

Ye Desheng arrived very quickly, followed by a valiant woman who should be his wife, the eldest daughter of the old General Peng, Peng Qian.

”May I ask for the lady’s esteemed name?” Ye Desheng’s demeanor was very polite. Prudence was necessary since it was well-known that there were no female guards by Prince Eight’s side, ”Where did this token come from?”
