Chapter 683: Chapter 683: Settling Accounts (Additional Release for 300 Monthly Tickets)_1

”Ah...” Du Qiuniang was also in a tough spot, never having seen such a situation before, and hurriedly tried to stop the young lady, ”Miss, you can’t do this. There’s an order in which things must be done...”

But the girl simply ignored her.

Zhou Xiao dashed over to block the doorway and, taking advantage of the other party’s distraction, snatched the clothes back. The dress that sister Xinxin wanted, how could she let someone else take it?

”You uneducated...” Dai Xiyan was startled, quickly stepping back.

”If you were educated, why would you snatch someone else’s things?” Sanni snorted, ”Want to compete with silver? Come on then...” She reached into her bosom and pulled out a purse, ”This is the pocket money Big Sister gave me.” With that, she dumped it out on the counter, and two silver ingots appeared, precisely the ones Yang Ruxin had given her for the expenses during their shopping, which the young maid now claimed as her own pocket money.

Dai Xiyan was immediately taken aback. A little maid with ten taels of pocket money? These... these people clearly weren’t dressed nicely, their clothes, though clean, were all cotton, and yet she hadn’t expected...

Hmph! Sanni pursed her lips, ”Didn’t you see that we bought so much? You’re fussing over just one dress, what’s there to show off? If you’re capable, buy ten or eight dresses then come and show off.” She beckoned to Du Qiuniang, ”Aunt Du, let’s check out...”

Ever since Sanni had started speaking, Yang Ruxin had been standing to the side with her arms crossed, watching. The girl spoke straightforwardly and effectively, which was quite good.

”Alright.” Du Qiuniang was overjoyed. She disliked those who judged people by their looks. She grabbed the abacus and clattered on it for a while, ”Nine dresses in total, the full price is 16 taels and three maces of silver. Let’s round it down, 16 taels it is. I will also gift each of you a scarf, and for the two lads, I will give two purses, how about that?”

”Then thank you, Aunt Du.” Sanni smiled and nodded, but she didn’t have enough silver, so she turned to look at Yang Ruxin, who directly took out the fifty-tael silver note given by Hao Fatty and handed it over.

With joy, Du Qiuniang accepted the silver note, verified it, then gave back the change and carefully wrapped all the dresses before handing them to Yang Ruxin.

Dai Xiyan had been in a state of shock all along. Her family was considered wealthy, but they didn’t carry fifty or sixty taels of silver for shopping. She had only brought ten taels with her this time, so when the opponent, a young maid, could produce ten taels of silver, she really dared not show off anymore.

However, she was accustomed to being treated with high regard and wasn’t used to this kind of treatment. She glanced at her own maids, ”Are you all dead?”

Upon hearing this, the maids knew the miss was displeased and immediately surrounded Sanni.

”Looking for a fight?” Sanni’s eyes lit up as she started rolling up her sleeves, ”Come on, let’s have it out. Do you three want to gang up, or shall we go one-on-one?”

The corner of Du Qiuniang’s mouth twitched when she heard this. Did the young maid really need to be this violent? But they couldn’t actually start fighting, so she coughed and interjected, ”Why not report it to the authorities? Let the county magistrate come and judge.”

At the mention of authorities, Dai Xiyan’s heart faltered.

”Xinxin, let it go,” Xun Hui, who had been silent until now, spoke up and tugged at Yang Ruxin’s sleeve, ”Better to avoid trouble...”

Yang Ruxin glanced at Xun Hui, then suddenly turned towards Dai Xiyan and flicked her hand...

Dai Xiyan saw a streak of silver light flying toward her face and screamed out, ”Ah...”
