The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 542: Chapter 542: Into the Mountains (6)_1

Sanni hurriedly ran to Gu Qingheng’s side, ”Brother-in-law, save me.”

Gu Qingheng couldn’t help but laugh, ”Your sister is just scaring you; she really can’t bear to hit you.” Mengmeng’s personality is becoming more and more like Ruxin’s.

”Ah, let’s skip these useless things, just take me and Dabao up the mountain, okay?” Sanni’s purpose wasn’t to quarrel; she wanted to go up the mountain, so she quickly changed the subject.

Yang Ruxin shook her head, ”No.”

”What’s with you, holding a grudge or something? Is it that big of a deal that I saw you and brother-in-law kissing? Come on!” Sanni stomped her foot, ”Dabao has never been to the mountain.”

”Stop using Dabao as an excuse,” Yang Ruxin glanced at Sanni, ”And, your sister has a heart as broad as a Prime Minister, she won’t care about that. Besides, Gu Qingheng and I kissed because we wanted to; if you saw it, then you saw it, no big deal. You’ll kiss your husband too when you find one...”

Sanni’s face turned red with embarrassment.

”We’re not taking you because it’s too dangerous to go into the mountains, the master is going to gather medicine and will certainly have to go deep into the forest, we won’t be able to look after you...” Yang Ruxin reached out and ruffled Sanni’s hair, messing up the braids on her head before stopping, ”Don’t you remember? If I hadn’t found you last time, you might have become fertilizer by now...”

Sanni energetically pushed Yang Ruxin’s hands away, knowing she would only be a burden if she went, but she didn’t want to admit it out loud, and instead huffed, ”Stingy.”

”How about this, I’ll take you to the foothills in a few days to catch a couple of rabbits...” Yang Ruxin flicked Sanni’s forehead with her finger.

Upon hearing this, Sanni brightened up, no longer minding the pain in her head, and turned to run off to find Zhou Xiao.

”Mengmeng’s personality is a lot like you,” Gu Qingheng said with a laugh.

”Hmm,” Yang Ruxin nodded, ”This girl is shrewd, daring in both thought and action, and has a clear sense of love and hate; she has the makings of a businesswoman...”

”Be careful in the mountains,” Gu Qingheng suddenly turned serious, ”Don’t make me worry.”

”I know.” Yang Ruxin reached out to touch Gu Qingheng’s face, ”I also want to check on Dabai this time in the mountains. It got hurt because a yellow tiger encroached on its territory, and I’m a bit worried about it...”

”Gu Yao is skilled in martial arts, just don’t overdo it on your own.”

Yang Ruxin nodded.

This time into the mountains, Gu Yao fulfilled his promise and brought along Little Liuzi and Tie Dan, as he had previously agreed.

Little Liuzi and Tie Dan had long wanted to go into the mountains, but the howling of wolves and roaring of tigers had been too terrifying before, and they hadn’t come to urge Gu Yao on. However, they hadn’t expected that now they would actually have the chance to go into the mountains.

Autumn arrived, and the mountains were no longer purely green as before, with some of the leaves beginning to yellow and others turning red, making the landscape even more colorful.

Xiaobai ran excitedly ahead leading the way, while Dao Xuzi walked and described some of the medicinal herbs they saw to Yang Ruxin, picking some he deemed useful and necessary.

Gu Yao was explaining some hunting knowledge to Little Liuzi and Tie Dan, such as how to set traps, how to identify animal tracks, and what techniques to use for different animals, even teaching them archery.

Wild chickens and rabbits would occasionally appear along the way, all shot by Gu Yao with a single arrow. Little Liuzi and Tie Dan couldn’t manage at first, but gradually got the hang of it and each hit a rabbit, extremely excited. Looking at Gu Yao, their eyes sparkled with more and more pink stars.
